An added benefit to the 8" shelf is you cant pile junk in front of other junk, in front of other junk... There is nothing worse than having to empty an entire shelf to get to the thing you need that got pushed to the very back, then having to put everything back.
Also, those French cleat cuts could definitely benefit from a band saw!

I manage an auto parts store, it’s only going to get worse as all the paper on the inside is made in China and they know they have us by huevos. I started buying K&N for my subarus because it’s the only ones I can reliably get, as well as all of my cars taking the same filters. If I were you, I’d go find an advance auto or carquest and go buy a couple master packs of their redline filters that you need. They are cheap and come a dozen to a box. I’d also invest in a bucket pump and buy a couple 5 gallon buckets of your preferred oil. Unfortunately rotella anything is a nightmare for me to get right now because Walmart bought it all up, but if you need a rotella substitute I would suggest Mobil Delvac. All of my customers say it works just as good

Assuming your devices use common Lithium ion batteries and you are able to keep such a charging schedule, you can get the max life out of your batteries. The tablesaw cut gave OSHA the fizz. That organized oil on the shelf gave me the fizz!

Might I recommend a cross cut sled for your table saw? A Glimpse Inside has a good type and he’s a family man.

I decided to build a motorized bike this month. Easy to maintain, just keep spare nuts and bolts around, and a bunch of bottles of 2 stroke oil. Good to know I have a back up if things go totally south, and it get's about 100 miles to the gallon. The bike and motor, cost a total of $220. would have been closer to $170 if I bought my bike used.

Definitely considering an attempt at French cleat shelf's. I could use a few more woodworking videos, though

I use that same design in my shop, but have everything is held in place with 1/4 inch diameter bungie cords in case we get a earth shaker. Not good having flammable liquids all over the floor. I try not to store stuff in glass if possible. Also in my shop I used screws to build everything and can be changed if needed.

I own a Napa and i bought lots of oil cause I heard from someone in general motors it was gonna be hard to get. Well now you can't find several brands.

Looks great, will the wood where you used to have your tools become the same color or will the “stripes” always be visible?

I always got frustrated with large clunky corded tools such as a circular saw or jig saw that either take up space or dont fit in a standard mechanics tool chest so i bought some used filing cabinets for $25 each and incorporated them under the work bench.

You could churn these out with a little Jigsaw too if you don't have a table/chop saw. Very neat system, I like it a lot

I’m in parts purchasing in the Chicago area. Things are bad we can’t get basic parts even things made in USA. Items that used to come in less than 2 weeks are now 6 months out
