Round 💎 Although I see the appeal of elongated fancy cut shapes like the oval, just nothing beats the sparkle and brilliance of a round diamond. I also really love OEC rounds with the chunky facets!
I was hoping you’d make a video about rounds vs. ovals!! Thank you Miss Bonnie for always making coming through and giving us the very best diamond content 🤍
When my husband and I got engaged over 20 years ago, i looked at a Radiant, Princess, and Oval. I'm still so happy I chose the Radiant. I like the Grossbard standard for ratio (esp. 1:15-1:25), but I know elongated Radiants are popular today too. My second choice would have surely been the oval. The oval is beautiful. 🙂
I adore my oval. It had a very light bow tie, so it was acceptable. I later had a small halo put on it. No more bow tie! Wonderful! Wanted 1 for decades.
I'm a round gal when it comes to most of my top shelf jewelry items. I don't dislike other shapes, but there's a definite order of preference. The one exception is ruby rings. Must be oval! Think Lady Di's ring, but with a ruby. 🥰
I don’t have very long fingers and feel round makes my finger look wider. I prefer the oval look. I must admit, I haven’t seen how emerald cut would look. So much choice, well cut diamonds all look beautiful. Thank for giving us extra info in making a choice, Bonnie🥰
I recently bought a loose round diamond to make a custom ring at a jewelry store that she loves. Before my current gf and future fiance did some shopping to figure out what she likes, I thought she would have been more of a cushion shape girl. Turns out she really loved the round on her finger so it will be as she desires.
I love both! I have a 1.60 round I wear on my right hand, and a 2.53 oval for my engagement ring. They both feel very classic and beautiful. If it were my first ring or not sure which shape to choose…I agree most can’t go wrong with a round. You’ll likely always love it. Next is Emerald. Doesn’t have the sparkle, but I can get lost on the steps.
I totally love round for a white diamond. You can't go wrong with that classic look. However, for a fancy color diamond such as blue or pink, I like a cushion cut.❤
Thanks for picking Anne Curtis picture/engagement ring as an example @ 0:46! I love her and her ring lol Emerald cuts are my fav. My engagement ring is a round diamond and I got a princess cut for our 10th. My ultimate dream is to have an emerald cut. I love those flashes of light it gives!
2:39 When you say to try both and see what suits you best, are you talking about anything specific? Or just what the wearer prefers? I have short hands with somewhat chubby fingers. An oval would take up most of the space between knuckles and finger joint and look huge lol
Hey Bonnie! I heard you talk about how with an oval it's important to have more support to keep the diamond in place rather than just in the prong settings alone because it could turn.. do you recommend the tulip prong setting? Or would you recommend a tulip prong with a hidden halo also?
I love the way ovals look but with I try them on I feel they look odd on my hand. I have shorter small fingers with larger knuckle (due to cracking ) I feel like I have hand dysmorphia
Totally understandable 😂 Choosing the right diamond shape is a personal preference, and it's essential to find one that makes you feel comfortable and beautiful. If ovals don't feel quite right, consider exploring other shapes like round or cushion cuts. Ultimately, choose what makes you happy and confident! 💍✨

I'm team oval ❤ I must admit that I'm really loving the Emerald lately!!
ME TOO :) A 20ct Emerald cut diamond is on my wish list :P

YASSS!! I love giving value!! Thanks for watching :) Your kind words means a lot to me!
It's round for me!!! I like the way fancy shapes look but I don't want something trendy or dated. Round is classic and timeless!

LOVE IT! I love rubies too ^^
When I first started looking at engagement rings I loved oval but now I'm all things round❤ I'm obsessed with a 3-3.5ct😍
The bigger the better, YASSSSS!!!

Moval is my favorite but I would choose round. Marquise + Oval for the win!
Gorgeous 😍what is the ratio?

You're welcome! Lovely ^^ THANK YOU
Hi! Which shape refracts more? Assuming both have “ideal” cuts
They both sparkle just in different ways ;)
I love the Oval for the modern but look 😍 but can we see more curved wedding band pairing with french pave oval ring please !!
Round is very classic 😍👌🏻✨
YES IT IS ^^!!
Round is so classic ❤
We totally agree.
I love ovals!!
i love oval!
We love Ovals too!
Your rings are stunning. Can I ask on your round diamond which prongs to you prefer ? Round or pointed ?
Great video!! ❤️ I love both
Thank you :)!

YES! We want them all 😩🫶
Round 💎, second oval 💎
I like all shapes lol
Round is the standard. Round can be perfect, but fancy cuts can never be perfect.
Oval!!
Round!!!
Hi I like diamond my village rough stones this is my stones
I’m round all the way.
YASS on ROUNDS :)
Oval makes your hand look lovely. But you need to get a good cut or you’ll have a bow tie.
Agreed! 🩷

Round looks kind of tacky and cheap
