  • Why You Need to Avoid Mass Production Jewelry
    Building Connections, Not Just Rings 🤝💍✨
    Don't settle for a mass-produced ring, invest in an experience! When it comes to engagement rings, there's more to it than meets the eye. Here are my top pointers on why you should choose a trusted jeweler and build a meaningful connection:
    1️⃣ Quality Matters: Handcrafted with love, a trusted jeweler ensures every detail is perfect, creating a ring that will stand the test of time.
    2️⃣ Curation Is Not Offered: Curation allows for an EXPERT to filter and sort through diamonds within the specs you're looking for and present you the best ones this market has to offer!
    3️⃣ Expert Advice: A trusted jeweler will guide you through the process, sharing their knowledge and expertise, ensuring you make an informed decision.
    4️⃣ Long-Term Relationship: Building a connection with a jeweler means you have someone to rely on for all your future jewelry needs, from anniversaries to special occasions.
    5️⃣ Support Local Artisans: By choosing a trusted jeweler, you support local artisans and contribute to the preservation of traditional craftsmanship.

      It does. Now I wonder if I made a mistake, but thankfully we didn't spend above 20k....lol. Still feel a bit foolish, but she loves it and stares at it often. It is and was a special purchase, so I think that she appreciates that aspect more rather than it being a diamond, because we did at least discuss diamond free (conflict free) options. I think it just means when I make a more educated and valued purchase later, there will be a greater chance of her liking it even more. Once it gets to car level prices and higher, I am less willing to pay for a name. At that point, it better be the value of the stone, the setting and the design, and I did see that in your designs. Unfortunately, I feel often times us guys are strapped for time and lacking in knowledge even though I did research and found the recommended internet sites to be lacking and really learned a lot from your videos, I didn’t want the pressure of making a grave mistake on something I know so little about (I did the surprise route, and intel from her friend) so I wish I had an expert and guidance. I think that is where the value was lost on my eventual purchase at a fancy T&C store engagement ring. I would say pop culture had more to do with my purchase than one done from wisdom.

    You’ll get bad diamonds everywhere you go, big chain stores, family owned stores etc it’s about taking the time to find quality where you go. I have a friend who got engaged with a Cartier and the quality is insane, I’m sure there’s bad quality in there and I’m sure there’s great quality! Same with Tiffany’s, people don’t mind spending the money and they like the name it’s somewhat magical. I also have friends who got engaged with a family owned jeweller, and an online one and they’ve had problems! You can have problems everywhere you go. Also people like to be able to see the stone and ring in person, not have to fly somewhere just to visit a ring, or just hope for the best and order online. I understand what you’re saying, but big name jewellers will never go out of business.

    • @tynation9103
      @tynation9103 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree...one can run to a problem just about anywhere. A friend bought a ring from a local store. That ring commands attention whenever she wears it. It's just a stunning ring. And another friend, ordered hers online and the ring is just beautiful. Though, another friend bought a ring from a local jewelry store. Spend $25k and her ring looks lifeless. I couldn't believe just how dull the ring looks. I ran into one lady that says, she will never buy her ring from anywhere besides Costco.

But for our next big anniversary, I think I will come see you! I feel like I overpaid for the brand name...but I rather have quality rather than "heritage"

    I recently lost the stone in my over 25 year old engagement ring and I was bummed to the point I was considering not replacing the ring. I started looking and just bought a ring from an online vendor THEN I discovered your channel! Well I can’t even count how many hours of your videos I watched and gained an idea of what I really wanted. I found a small family owned jeweler and it was a match made in heaven. The team was incredibly knowledgeable with an incredible on-site jeweler. Initially I was like, well I lost my original stone so whatever I get after will not be as special BUT I was wrong. My sales person was knowledgeable and very patient while I started to figure out what I really wanted this go round. I loved that I was able to see the actual stones and when they didn’t wow me, which was not his fault at all but my indecisiveness. I knew I wanted a pear but didn’t realize until I saw a few AND watched your videos that I preferred a wide plump pear with a certain ratio range. The ring he found exceeded my expectations! I also was very hesitant to get a new band so he made sure it would fit perfectly and not create a large gap. Well, we picked it up yesterday and it blew my mind! It’s simple and elegant but absolutely breathtaking!

    Great video Bonnie! You are always so informative. I can attest your curation & quality is like none other. I love thé eternity band you created for me ❤Curious, what happens to the bad decision mistake rings your clients purchased from big box? What do you recommend they do with it?

    • @ByBonnieJewelry
      @ByBonnieJewelry  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi dear! I'm so glad you are loving your eternity band. Good question! It depends on the situation. Sometimes the client is still within the 30 day return window, and just returns it. (Those are the lucky ones) Even though actually getting your money back can take a while. I've heard stories of "canceled orders" and it still showing up at their front door 6 months later and being charged for it, and they claimed that it was "after their 30 day return window". BE SMART! Other situations I have heard is that they had to pay for 2 custom settings (non-refundable) but were able to refund the center stone. And certain times, they are completely stuck with it. In those cases, I would ask the original place you bought it from to take it back (but of course, you would have to take a loss on the amount you paid). Perhaps ask for store credit to apply on something else like diamond earrings or necklace for future use.
      This is the reason why I made this video! (I am sure there are many who received good jewelry with good experiences). But for those who didn't, those are the things to look out for!
      Anyways, thanks for watching love. Appreciate your support ❤

For our 25 anniv. my husband purchased a tension set wedding band, 3.74 ct. in 18 ct. gold. I have no idea how to clean it. I was told sonic isn't good because it could loosen the stones. Costco has the best quality and price for engagement rings. They have IF-I, nothing lower- also, all the rings are VVS or Better with platinum. They have a forever return policy so you can upgrade your ring or simply return it if you need the cash back. When you buy from this lady, or any other company- you can never get your money back on your hand. I buy all my jewelry at Costco. The forever return policy applies to all their jewelry- even years later. A lot of people don’t know about this! You are welcome.

WHY. ARE. PEOPLE. Bonnie, if this is so infuriating to a hobbyist jeweller, I can't even begin to imagine how you feel, with this being your life's work, I bet you punch things on the regular.

      OMG, I just choked on my coffee reading this! First of all, SENDING YOU LOVE AND HUGS! And how awesome is that you went to jewelry school! (SO YOU KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT).To be honest, when that scmifany client came to me, she had asked me to reset that stone. I politely declined because I said A) You lose all warranty if you do that B) The stone isn't nice to begin with so resetting doesn't even matter. AND don't get me STARTED on that pave ring that my client Di bought, it was just black/fully included industrial quality melees, shoved into the mount. The metal itself had so much porosity and crap in it!! I mean don't get me wrong, NOT all online jewelry is like that but the 3D image he saw was "perfect" and item received was 👎. They were based out of NYC so I guess he just assumed it's good its from a US based company 😅. OH BABY, my staff almost bought me a punching manikin (6 pack one lol), they were so tired of watching me go crazy hahahahahahaha!! THANK YOU for stopping by, you made my day. Hehe!!

    • @tippytappy
      @tippytappy ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ByBonnieJewelry if any of your staff are reading this, I urge them to get you that mannequin 😆 When people end up with crap rings, even if they keep them, I think most of the time they just think about the gesture for the most part. It’s a symbol of love, and that’s what matters - not everyone wants a ring for showing off (I think this is more of a thing in the US), so a piece that’s “good enough” and doesn’t fall apart when you get dressed suffices. And that makes room in the market for a lot of shit jewelry 🙃 It’s so awesome that you’re educating people about quality and mass market pieces ❤️ Keep doing what you’re doing!
