Diamond values have only ever gone down. Especially now. Of course you'll get less. The jeweler needs to be able to resell it for some profit after all...

Buying a natural diamond makes no financial sense. If you buy a $1000 lab diamond and it has a 0 resale value, you lose $1000. If you buy the same natural diamond for $2500 it's resale value is $1000, a 60% depreciation. So you lose the same amount of money either way.

Even with the drop, the market continues to have growth and demand is strong. Now, extending over to South East Asia, Europe and the rest of the world. Now, when it comes to comparing them to moissanite and CZ, it's like this big gemstone showdown. While lab diamonds might have a unique production method, what really matters is how people see/perceive them, how they're advertised, and what's happening in the gemstone market overall. Working with clients everyday, I noticed a really diverse preference based on individual needs, budget and sentiment/ feelings towards each type of gems. For example, some people love moissanites and don't care for diamonds. Others love natural diamonds because it makes them feel rich (yes I'm being totally honest here). And many buy my curated Lab diamonds because it sparks joy in their lives, and it's affordable. Re your first question, predicting the marketing is really challenging because it's based on so many factors. The data suggests that there is a bifurcation in the market: the price sensitive low-end of the market will be taken by the synthetic diamonds. The higher end consumer segment who were ok with spending >$50k on a diamond will remain with mined diamonds. Takeaway: jewelers that focus on the high end of the market will have to up their game and provide experiences for the consumer similar to luxury retailers in other sectors. Mass market retailers will continue to shift to lab grown, because consumers will demand it due to a lack of discernible and obvious differences in the product, the the failings of the Kimberley Process which taints the entire mined diamond reputation

Lab grown diamond = loud budgeting! If we stop thinking about resale value, which is very minimal even for a natural diamond or brand name jewelry, lab grown is the way to go! Same look for way less money, I will take it.
Curation is way more important than lab or natural. I do love Canadian diamonds. I just love anything sparkling like a diamond! It doesn’t matter if it’s a lab! What’s the secret?
Mined diamond supply has been regulated and controlled for too long. Lab grown diamonds will finally solve this problem. The pricing correction will see customers buying larger carat sized and better quality lab grown diamonds in favour of smaller natural stones at better pricing. Customers will still pay for quality but smaller stones will disappear. Maybe a 2 carat stone or more will be the norm for an engagement ring?? De Beers and high street jewellers will lose unless they see the future.
They do. I’ve seen them on their websites but you do pay premium for them as they are in-house from their own suppliers to have their branding on them.
Brands create the illusion of ‘luxury’ when most of the items they sell are garbage quality. You’re paying to advertise someone else’s logo and the manufactured exclusivity they create. As for diamonds lab or natural-it’s a no for me. Get a Moissanite and use the money you saved for some marriage counseling before you get married since 1/2 of all marriages end in divorce. Invest in your relationship not a ring.
Lab Grown Diamonds show as moissanite with fiamond testerw and are worthless as an investment. Might as well just buy glass shaped in diamond style stones.
The country was operating with no shut downs by 2022 and most not even wearing masks anymore. I think they were just trying to get the money lost from 2020. Regardless of when Biden officially announced the end of the pandemic, life was already back to normal in 2022 when the diamond prices soared.
During the pandemic, there were supply constraints during a time of greater demand (people with cash to spend), so now we have a flipped formula: surplus of diamonds (lab and natural) with less demand. Rather than thinking in terms of the luxury industry being inflated, I prefer seeing price fluctuations I terms of market conditions. During and for a period after the pandemic, people also splurged to seize the day (Carpe Diem). Beyond the material value, I believe sentimental value counts for something, and if you ❤ your bling, at the end of the day it is worth what you paid (at least until you sell it then it is worth that).
I used to buy natural diamonds but now I buy lab only. I have upgraded to have bigger and better quality stones and more of them. Plus it’s costs less to replace and insure if needed😊
Id rather get a stone that has taken millions of years for it to form than get a similar stone thats being made in an indian sweatshop , by rasheevangi that man handles my diomond with his toes and spits at it to give it a wipe!!

De Beers and high street jewellers will lose unless they see the future.
Great video Bonnie! Makes a lot of sense.
Just add "Miner involved - Yes/No" to the Certificate and let see what would happen. Or "Miner - Involved / not involved"
U can get a 4.30ct lab diamond for $850 up to $1000 now!
The best time to buy a diamond is about 3am within the last minute of an auction。
I wonder if all the top end jewellery houses will sell Labs? I doubt they will devalue their legacy.
Yes please!
diamond rarity high is the most funniest joke in jewel industry
Now, if they can start lab growing Hearts and Arrows or A Cut Above (ACA) diamonds...
They do? Hearts and arrows is just the cut ?
They do. I’ve seen them on their websites but you do pay premium for them as they are in-house from their own suppliers to have their branding on them.
I love natural diamond in oval shape they are really hard to find a good one though…
We got you! 😍😉
People can invest in both!! 🎉❤

Lab Grown Diamonds show as moissanite with fiamond testerw and are worthless as an investment. Might as well just buy glass shaped in diamond style stones.
Very beautiful vidio 🎉

So you are saying the diamond prices dropped in 2023? They were over inflated during the pandemic?
Beyond the material value, I believe sentimental value counts for something, and if you ❤ your bling, at the end of the day it is worth what you paid (at least until you sell it then it is worth that).
yes
Natural diamond all the way… It feels good to wear natural than any lab gems… it feels fake when it is a lab gem…
Literally the same. If they mixed em you wouldn't know the difference. It's a Gucci bag vs the same leather and quality but you pay for a name
Your website is on my Christmas wishlist! Now let's hope Santa sees my wishlist. Haha 😂
YAY 😍❤️
Natural diamonds aren’t rare lol
They're more rare than a lab grown diamond.
False lab is a newer thing so lab is technically still more rare, I mean opal is way way more rare than any diamond
@@JimmyLeSpurs nope
i love your earrings❤
i have some 300 a carat
Yaaaasssss
❤️❤️❤️
Love it! Concrete honest answers!
really!
I'd rather have an emerald or a sapphire. Don't care for diamonds all that much.
The right time to buy a diamond is when you’re ready lol.
Couldn't have said it better myself 🤭💓
BUT I WANT THE NATURAL DIAMOND AM THAT KIND OF GIRL.
The amount of people trying to justify why a lab diamond is better is hilarious. It's a synthetic diamond and NOT natural.
Hi
I used to buy natural diamonds but now I buy lab only. I have upgraded to have bigger and better quality stones and more of them.
Plus it’s costs less to replace and insure if needed😊
Diamonds are not forever, that what she say
Can some body tell me is the true? I was told that when the lady got a tongue piercing , she did it for the man.
If you're buying natural diamonds as investment then you're terrible at investing your money, try investing in something better
Id rather get a stone that has taken millions of years for it to form than get a similar stone thats being made in an indian sweatshop , by rasheevangi that man handles my diomond with his toes and spits at it to give it a wipe!!
You weren’t pretty at first glance. (Doesn’t mean ugly) But as I was looking at you, you’re getting prettier and prettier. 😂
I'm glad my wife doesn't spend money on diamonds and other "status" symbols. Makes for a happy marriage.
Lab Diamonds are the same as fake Rolexes. They have no resale value.
So you mine Rolex watches?😂 can’t compare those two items
the right time to buy a lab is when the price of the ring is only the price of the gold and manufacturing , it has no value it will never have value
Price "correction"? You mean "lower rate" of price gauging! Lol diamonds don't take "billions" of years........
