    I experienced exactly the same! I've recently tried ISM PR 1.0, PS 1.1 and PN 3.1, each for 2-3x 40 km ride with adjusting saddle possition and, after a month, I'm so happy to be back on my old Selle Italia SLR Boost TM Superflow saddle which, I thought, was not comfortable enough :)

      yeah know what you mean, the old uncomfortable power saddle that I used to think was bad, is now great!! still I'm trialling a new saddle that is probably the best I've ever had...

    After 30 years of mtn biking here in the States, I developed Cyclists Syndrome, out of the clear blue. The specials said it was definitely due to saddle pressure and those experiences of numb - knobbery were hints it was coming. Now, I have tried every saddle on the market. Wish I’d gone totally noseless years ago. Would have saved me from excruciating pain over the last two years. I could write a dissertation on stupid saddles, unfortunately.

      @KyrosHouseCycling  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well saddles are definately a very specific subject and everyone is different, but saying that I'm glad you found a saddle that fits you properly, many people unfortunately never find one or just give up because its too painful etc...

    When i had sitbone pains, it was fixed by buying a wider saddle. Went from 142mm stealth pro to the 152mm version

      Yeah I’ve heard that can work, just depends on your body structure I spose. 👍 glad you got it sorted though.

    I'm about to replace my elderly Typhoon (PR 3.0). The cover is deteriorating on it. It's seen me through some tough times, over every stage of the 2018 Tour de France - one day ahead of the race itself (@stevestdf) and currently resides on my gravel bike where aggressive aero positioning is not so paramount as comfort over time and rough ground. I have Road ISM Adamos on other bikes, one of which has carried me on an Everesting in 2017 without any saddle or perineal problems. I have a Prologue on my track bike. My sons ride with them too.
    My change from a traditional style saddle started when I recalled doing a very long Sportif in the French Alps (l'étape du tour) and getting perineal numbness - that lasted 3 days.
    It is critically important to get the height, rotation/centering and level of the saddle correct to begin with in the garage, then work on the fore-aft position during the ride. The saddle off-loads weight that may previously have been taken through the perineum (soft middle bits) on other saddles, so there is more weight bearing done on the ischial tuberosities- or sit-bones. This can initially be more noticeable. Going out with an allen key and riding specifically to tune the position of the saddle is important. I would not go back to normal saddles out of choice.
    Your preferred choice of the PR 3.0 suggests to me that your riding position might be more upright. In my experience, PN-style and less padded saddles may work much better for those with a more aggressive, aero position.

    • @KyrosHouseCycling
      @KyrosHouseCycling  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow that’s a really interesting read! My problem in general isn’t numbness just a pain on my sitbone but only on one side. I did find I went numb on the ISM’s a few times. But I just didn’t feel they were for me, I’ve since moved to an infinity seat and these seem much better for me. Thanks for the comment it was very informative. 👍

    Took me a good 10 hours of riding to condition my taint to take the new saddle position but now I'm loving it. I have the PN 3.0 on my road bike and it allows me to fully rotate my pelvis to hold an aero hoods position for longer. I'm literally riding guys off my wheel since I can get so aero now. I'm pushing 300 watts while less aero guys in my draft need to push 350+. They are big mad.

      I’m glad you like the seat, they are such a personal thing as everyone’s bodies are different, I do like the shape to be honest just wasn’t for me back then, now I’ve sorted my short leg and offset riding position I may try them again one day, but I’m comfortable in my riding position atm. 👍

    I feel your pain! After years on Selle Italia saddles I found due to back problems I no longer felt right on them, pain after 40-50 miles, after trying loads of different brands I gave up and asked at my local Evans cycles shop, they recommend the Specialized Power and I had 30 days to return it if it didn't suit. It was instant relief for me and I've got them on all my bikes now. Hope you get fixed up soon.

    Saddles are a big problem. I managed to stay on my taint smashing Giant saddle for 1 year+ after exrcutiating pain even off the bike on my genital area. I decided to try a Selle Italia Novus Boost Evo. It is definetely way better than the previous one but still is painful as hell. To be honest i just wanna abandon cycling.I waste money and i just feel pain. Maybe i should try ISM ones. Though i know you must ride at least a full week to see if a saddle works for you.

    I use a PS 1.1 on my TT bike and find it absolutely perfect while in the aero bars. I feel locked into my position. Been thinking about replacing my current road bike saddle with an ISM, but I cannot figure out which one to get. I know the PS 1.1 will not work with my riding position on my road bike, because of the hump. Which one of the saddles that you tested was the flattest?

    Have you had a good bike fit? These seats tend to be a bit higher too - I only heard you talking about going up, but perhaps you're actually too high? Do you know your sit bone width? I used to use the Prologue and when it went to PN I could not get comfortable anymore. It can be so tricky.

    • @KyrosHouseCycling
      @KyrosHouseCycling  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did have a bike fit previous to me testing these. I may have been too high, but at the time I actually lowered the seat post to account for the high gap between the rail and the seat. I now have a great saddle… the infinity seat. 👍

    Hi, great video! How different is the PS 1.1 vs PR 1 or 3 and was there a reason you didn't try 2.0? I plan to ride Olympic triathlons and do most of my training on zwift. With the lighter padding from tri shorts, debating on getting the PR vs PS. I am demoing the PS1.1 right now and loving it. No more numb nuts!

    • @KyrosHouseCycling
      @KyrosHouseCycling  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! the PR and PS are very similar to be honest, they were the better ones out of the selection, but I liked the PR range the best out of them all. I didn't try the 2.0 because it wasn't available when I ordered the saddles. I just didn't get on with them...A bit off subject but I've been trialing an infinity seat. I've made an unboxing video and a review which is ready for release soon, the seat is used by lots of tri riders. maybe worth a look?

      I didn’t mean I was sitting on the split nose, I meant I was rotated onto the split nose, my sit bones were quite far back on the fat part of the saddle. I suppose just not the right saddle for me. As you know saddles are so specific to the user. But thanks for pointing out my mistake. Sorry about that. 👍
