  • In this video, reacting to reactors reacting takes a look at Culture Club's 1982 hit, "Time (Clock of the Heart)".
From wiki: "Time (Clock of the Heart)" is a song by the British new wave band Culture Club, released as a stand-alone single in most of the world and as the second single from their debut album Kissing to Be Clever in North America. Following on the heels of the band's global #1 hit, "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me", "Time (Clock of the Heart)" peaked at #3 on the UK Singles Chart, selling over 500,000 copies in the UK. In the United States, the song matched the #2 peak of its predecessor on the Billboard Hot 100, kept from the #1 spot by "Flashdance... What a Feeling" by Irene Cara for two weeks.
In Europe and United Kingdom, it was a stand-alone single, released in November 1982. For this market, its first inclusion on a Culture Club album was on their 1987 compilation, called This Time: The First Four Years.
Cash Box said the song has "a gentle funk anchor on an otherwise airy romantic ballad." In a retrospective review of the song, Allmusic journalist Stewart Mason wrote: "Of all of Culture Club's early hits, Time (Clock of the Heart) has probably aged the best. Boy George drops the cryptic self-mythology long enough to deliver a tender, heartfelt lyric on lost love."
The music video has been released in two versions. The only difference was a scene where the group is watching television, along with vocalist Helen Terry. In one version, a Christmas tree is shown. In the other, the tree is removed. This was because of the date of release for certain markets. The "Christmas" version (which is on the 2005 DVD "Greatest Hits") was for European countries and the "regular version" was for the other markets, where the song was released in Spring 1983.
The US single was released with the B-side being an instrumental version of the song called "Romance Beyond the Alphabet", which not only removed the vocals but at least one layer of melody as well.
The music video was featured during a flashback scene on the TV show Mr. Robot, season 4, episode 3.
The song has been re-recorded as a dance/pop track and been re-released as "Time 2022" on digital/streaming platforms.

A soulful song. A soulful group. 10/10 for the song 5/10 for the reaction. One of the most prominent groups to emerge in the MTV era. Most of the songs are pure genius songwriting. If you have rhythm in your soul, it was natural to move to the dance floor. Even today...😉

I love that song! Soulful, and that saxophone! You can’t make songs like that today.

His body language said 'uncomfortable' to me (putting his collar up almost like for protection) then confirming it by 'crazy ass smile'. He had to look away when the sax came in so he could enjoy it but kudos to him for sticking with it and pick out the parts he liked. An honest reaction to me. George was a trend setter in the UK in the 80's, his voice was great. I wasn't a fan though. Song:: 6.5/10 and 8/10 for the reaction

I remember him in the 80s, he attracted so many people because of his coming-out trend. I really liked the British music scene during the 80s.

If such reactions to his appearance exist today, then I can only imagine how this played in 1982...

I remember people freaking out how Boy George was so "Weird" back then but did anybody see our New Wave bands back then?

@@xoxxobob61 It's a guy with long hair wearing makeup... the end. But I think it's because a lot of guys probably knew Boy George really was gay unlike other new-wave guys, such as Duran Duran or even early George Michael (who was closeted then); it ultimately says more about them that they get/got so offended by it. A straight guy comfortable with himself would not react like that. People never fail to show how ignorant they can be 🤣Just the way it is I am afraid. Not that it matters because he obviously had more fans than he did detractors and became a millionaire.

I've seen them several times over the years, they're very good live and have produced some timeless classics. The 80s were so creative...💗

His face says he likes it…. Unfortunately some guys seem to think if they like Culture Club it says something about their sexuality.. which is ridiculous.. it’s just music.. Loving your videos..

I must admit, in the 80's, Culture Club didn't float my boat. I was into indy rock. However, I now appreciate George's voice and the memories that Culture Club's song provoke. 8/10 for the song - and 5/10 for the reaction. Not his fault... just a different generation.

I watched your video for something about you/level 42. Watching this right after made me think of the first concert I ever attended. Culture Club 8/27/85 GSAC. I was 14. Amazing show. BG hair was purple and really long.

Time Clock of the Heart, the only top ten hit by Culture Club that was not included in a vinyl album, but released separately as a single

Good to see you back safe and well. As for this, if he's a reactor then I'm the King of England. How has he got so many subs? 1 out of 10 for me.
