Did you bother to watch the J6 hearings? He said under oath, "I didn’t mind being characterized as being part of team normal, as reporters, you know, kind of started to do around that point in time." He had to suddenly leave when his wife went into labor, but his testimony had been taped earlier.

Why are these people above the law? If I get a jury summons, I have to show up for court. He should step down from the Senate Judicial Committee immediately. What is he hiding?

I swear, part of me just wants these people to answer on the record "Why would you think this was legal or right?". Did you think all sixty of the judges that rejected your theories were corrupt? A DC police officer who was in the motorcade on 1/6 has testified under oath that the event in the vehicle where Trump demanded to be taken to the Capitol did in fact occur. At least part of this event was broadcast on the motorcade frequency and he heard it first hand on the radio.

Perhaps that is why the Secret Service erased all of the Jan 6 texts. Changing phones is not an excuse. I just had an emergency when my HP laptop died (turned out to just be the charger) and I immediately backed up all of my files. The Secret Service has a policy requiring all employees to back up and store government communications whenever they retire old electronic or telephonic devices. So why was this time different?
Was he under oath? I'm not a troll or Trump supporter. I just don't know of a hearing or trial or legal proceeding in which he was under oath. Maybe I've missed something.

I think MSNBC needs to do a story on the Mayor of DC. If she hadn't told counter-protesters to stay away then it may have gone a lot differently. I thionk all those planted guns, ammo and explosives could have been for any counter-protest to start a bloodbath and give Trump a chance to declare martial law like he wanted to.

@@sclogse1 They found vehicles loaded with weapons and pipe bomb stashes. They didnt take them to riot, so they were obviously for some other purpose. What would they expect to use them for if not in the insurgency? The only other enemy they would have had would be counter-protesters.
If these munitions turned it into a bloodbath, then Trump might have had a pretext to get his marshal law. That could have changed the outcome of that day. I dont think it would have lasted very long, but it would have been horrible if it did happen.

The President has limited powers. He cannot declare war. He can make trade deals but needs the consent of the Senate to make them legal. He can appoint ambassadors. He can nominate persons for cabinet positions and the Supreme Court but needs Senate consent for making the appointments a reality.
He can issue Proclamations and Executive Orders directing the employees of the Executive Branch on how he wants them to help him execute the laws Congress passes, but he cannot substitute his Orders for the Statutory laws of Congress. He cannot pass true laws. He cannot raise taxes. He cannot appropriate funds. He must faithfully execute the Laws passed by Congress as Congress intended. Executive Orders passed by one President can be voided by another simply by declaring them repealed.
Trump tried to magnify his power as President by lying to his supporters. The Founding Fathers never liked the idea of a Monarchy and were careful to limit the powers of the Presidency. Unfortunately their imagination never extended to a time of TVs, Computers, Smart Phones and million-dollar campaign rallies.

Having to build a Democracy around people like this to make sure they don't cause problems sucks. If we didn't have radicalization our system wouldn't have had to change. But because we're dealing with radicalization we have to figure out how to make sure things don't go wrong with them in the system. Though unradicalizing them is the solution.

@@destinyglenn5218 A jail cell wouldn't help. It usually makes things worse. It's like putting people alone for too long. It will drive them crazy. So instead letting people do things they enjoy and rebuilding the system in a way that won't interfere with the economy.
If you remove people from a collective for too long they will try to be part of a group after long enough.
Also if you remove the need for crime, by people being able to afford what they need. You end in a situation where no one sees the need for crime.
No amount of laws will change our society. What we need is a culture that promotes equal education for all. Ignorance is the bread and butter of hatred. Education is the antithesis of ignorance.
