Very nice restoration, as I read the comments, the gentleman who said that your truck will spend most of its time either in a trailer or garage, has to realize you can't leave a truck like this parked on the street or even in your driveway! I have A '57 and '58 3100 and a '63 Impala. I would love to drive them more, but you have to be mindful where you can store it while traveling out of town, and every other stop you gotta talk to someone, who will see you and approach you, to give compliments and stories of there days when they owned one or one similar to yours, thats 15 to 20 min each LOL, (which I don't mind at all). Also on a lot of restorations people go way to far and put too much money in the build! now its a trailor queen, because you are too afraid to drive it! I always seem to notice commentors taking shots at the builders. But these resto's are investments so remember that, before you attack them verbally. Its there vehicle, they can do what they want!! hey there, those wheels and whitewall tires look great on that thing, looks original from back then and suits well to that truck. there is lots of people who put whatever rims on these classic trucks, that sometimes looks so odd, like fish and chicken. your 57 chevy truck doesnt look lowered, lowering those trucks makes them disfunctional for what they were meant, that is to carry a load. that deep grumbling from the engine sounds well, although i would prefer a 2000+hp all electric drive, but after all i.c.e. was what those trucks came with originally. i would maybe ad a turbo on the engine. the 57 chevy truck is my favorite truck, those cute eye lids and that bulge on the hood, the round fenders, gorgeous. ah yes, the bottom is all open, i would fix a skid plate under it, that protects all the parts under the vehicle and at rigidity to the body. i'm still looking for a 57 chevy truck for restauration.
You are absolutely correct,I miss spoke. Old air allows you to keep your glove box and you’ll notice the cover all of the club box. Vintage air also an excellent unit does illuminate most of your glove box
Hi Jim. Don’t know if my previous reply went through. The back of the instrument cluster is made by hand and the instruments are out of a aircraft cluster. Trying to get the Speedometer synchronized but unable to do so. It’s not the gears it’s the Speedo itself, having a hard time getting a hold of the proper aircraft materials to fix. But he’ll it looks good lol
What a beautiful job on that truck. I wouldn’t change a thing. I bought a 1956 gmc 100 last fall and that is how I planned on setting mine up. I have the same color paint I believe but it’s all faded out. Do you know the color name of your 57?
Hi John, thanks for the compliment. The truck received lots of compliments on his color at local shows. The color is called GM bright teal. Wa9830. Good luck
Rojas interiors on Minor and Wilson. Did a good job and a fair price. Extremely happy with the finished product. His timeline was way too long, over seven months. Get that down and ready first lol
Hi Dean, thank you for the comments. They are three chamber Flowmaster with 2 1/2 inch exhaust we like the quiet sound but good rumble. Have since added a cut off for the exhaust, basically makes it straight pipe With a flick of the switch.
Sorry you feel the right to prejudge, but the truck has over 70,000 miles since paint and about 40,000 since new motor. We drive at least one a week and my wife and I use on dates and to any special occasion. FYI, I don’t have a trailer to put it in. Have a blessed day.
