Did Gary show the same kind of sadness when the Jets or Nordiques moved?

The state of Arizona handled things pretty poorly

Bettman's comment from the 10:32 mark through the 11:00 mark strikes me as being a bit condescending and dismissive. He appears to feel that what the fans are going through is something that we should (and will) get over. Here is to hoping that we never support the NHL in Arizona again.

And i think that Meruelo is FoS. I don't trust anything he says.

I cannot believe they sat up there with a straight face, and there's an arena downtown and a baseball stadium they could of played in until a stadium situation arrived, before deciding to move to beautiful but boring Salt Lake.

@ElmerFudd16 you are telling me if Arizona builds a new arena and gets a team, Auston is not going? He will sign in Arizona to finish his career. At 35 you will see a 3-4 year deal as he chases Ovi. At that point for the Leafs he will be the only player able to produce

Salt Lake City deserves an NHL team. Fan support in Salt Lake City will be much better than Phoenix or Glendale.
A new arena won't solve fan support in the long term in Arizona. There isn't enough interest in hockey anywhere in Arizona. The people of Arizona like football, baseball, and basketball but not hockey. The remaining fans in Arizona that want to see an NHL hockey game can travel to Los Vagas, Los Angeles, Anaheim, or Salt Lake City.

The Mormans in SLC have been using their "brethern" in AZ to derail efforts for yrs and they finally did it..

The members of certian group HQd in the Southwest have been using its "influence" to derail efforts behind the scenes for yrs now, esp the last 2-3 ,and they finally accomplished their orders from above. Maybe without their sabotage, since they finally got what thay wanted, the Coyotes have a shot now.

@@shanewilson8728 50 years in the valley and I agree, also the constant thought of them leaving and mostly sucking doesn't help. Had they been better, maybe it could have stuck, but there isn't enough kids playing hockey and families to support an NHL team. Bring the Runners back to Mullet for the few fans that want to see hockey. I used to go to runners games at Veterans. We would sneak down to the glass, great times!
