    i picked up league around a year or so ago and have found very few channels with educational content like yours, i love it, please keep doing it. There are always going to be some arrogant people with no self awareness that comments stupid stuff, u already know they're in the wrong, fuck those people cause they dont matter and they're not your target audience. I’m stuck silver but by and large you are one of the few content creators that’s really good at providing genuinely useful advice.
    I think what’s going on is that most players just don’t respect how hard of a game league is to master. On the low skill end, that means they expect every new concept thrown at them to be their ticket to getting out of their rank and give them the 100% win rate, when it really doesn’t work like that. That’s why you get these “I tried that and it didn’t work” types of comments. From my experience, learning stuff like focusing on farm and other fundamentals have absolutely helped me improve, but it hasn’t been an insta win ticket. Even in the lower elos you are going to encounter players that will strategize against your practice of fundamentals and you have to know what to do in those situations. The game is volatile, that’s how it’s designed, so it’s unrealistic to expect every new concept to work out the moment you start to execute on them. What needs to be realized is that this is a process and a grind that only gets mastered through consistent practice over time.

    Just watched a few of your recent videos, very insightful and well produced. League has a lot of nuance, and you present your theory of the game with great clarity, which I would have thought should land well with low elo players. Sad to hear that you have received unkindness for it.
    Speaking for myself (a low elo player), it seems like I need information to be layered and presented from many different angles before I frankly play the game enough to be able to finally notice a principle. Learning to climb in league is a very confusing journey, full of doubt. I think it is important to have videos such as yours (and their ongoing production) to help ground and refocus one's mental on the things that matter. Thanks.

    I completely understand and agree with this, thank you. I often reload your guides and reference them when trying to improve and get better. I personally haven't climbed a rank but I have noticed the quality of my games and those around me have gotten better and its been great in all honesty. I have had a lot more fun as I have felt as I have been playing at a higher level, making decisions with more intent and thinking about every action. Though by rank does not reflect this, I felt the game is a lot more enjoyable when your more present and aware, trying to improve. It feels that the ranks overtime have shifted and players have gotten better overall. Regardless, when I die my reaction is not who do I blame, it is "What mistake did I make that I can prevent next time?"

  • @Lootki

    Probably one of the most earnest and helpful videos concerning league. I tried to establish a kind of non tilt mentality for myself. Spread no blame. Analyse what went wrong, what could be improved looking at me personally. Communication, farming, trading, wave management, buying, objectives, duels, team fights. And often I have to admit, that I am unfortunately not able to carry even if I won lane while one enemy laner can. I would like you to to continue these videos also hoping that non bait content will one day be on top of the algorithm. I would love to see you make more decision making videos, looking at footage. What do players take into consideration in that very moment. Keep up the good work and the towers down, mate. Teach on! ❤

    Honestly that is so valid. My greatest struggle is with trying to know when to roam or side lane as a mid laner (I play mostly ad assassins), and when to stay in lane or teamfight. I understand the assassin mentality (but struggle to implement it sometimes when I get frustrated) and so I sometimes struggle to get ahead and keep a lead across most of my games

    - Its hard to appreciate the game when the whole system gratification pivot around win/loss and only indirectly by performance.
    - Meta matters, if you play meta you can afford more mistakes.
    - Duo matters, playing alone put you at a big disadvantage.
    - I acknowledge I'm hardstuck because I'm not putting nearly enough effort to play a good game, but tbf this isn't anymore a game worth the struggle for me. (Its like valorant where you can train yes, but does it matter when the other guy has competitive advantage by having better hardware and connection?)
    The fault isn't in you Teacher, it is in the game!
    Also this wall of text is a thank you for all your effort it made my whole journey much more enjoyable. Kudos to you and stay well

    @asmund8436 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    If I'm not mistaken this is actually the first video I've watched from you.
    I have to say I agree with what you said in this video, mentality really is the most important part when trying to improve at really any game, and it's nice to see someone pointing out that **you** are required to figure out what **you** need to learn, instead of someone else telling you what you need to learn. Confirmation bias clouds so many peoples judgement so it's nice to see someone tackling that.
    I love learning about this game simply because there are so many moving parts, and how a single decision can affect the remaining 35 minutes of a match is mindblowing to me, and I'm not looking to be a top player, but just to play decently well when I'm with my friends.
    I don't know if you have an older guide about this sorry if you do, but I would love a guide on the differences between top and mid lane, and why they play so differently. I typically play support or mid, but I struggle when I'm autofilled to top, almost like all my knowledge from mid just disappears. I haven't really found a video that compares the two lanes in a concise format, so I feel it would be great to hear an opinion on it.
    Thank you, and keep doing you!
    (edit was just spelling)

    my progress playing jungle is a really long one and ofc I find myself frustrated and blaming my team (in my mind) and ofc I also dont aknowledge all my mistakes, bloody hell would be good to even know all my mistakes. BUT your channel always was helpful for this journey and gave a clear and constructive basis for self education. Thank you for your videos your content is highly appreciated!
    edit: referring to the question at the end. What I'm having the most trouble with at the moment is what to do with a jungler with a weak early game when at least 2 lanes lose/are doing very badly. I often have the feeling of being relatively powerless in this situation, especially when the opponents are not mindlessly pushing the waves into tower. This means my team has no priority and it makes it easy for the opponent to take objectives.

    • @ECPlaysLoL
      @ECPlaysLoL  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Im glad you have found my videos helpful😊 I do admit I am not the best either at handling a loss but the approach to how someone improves from a loss is so important for me.
      I think it depends on mentality and how you view the jungle role. If I am in a situation where I am playing a weak jungler early like Karthus into someone very strong early like Xin Zhao then I have to accept that whatever Xin decides to do will be the play I have to adapt to.
      If he invades me and I cant fight, then I leave that side and go to the other one. If he tries to play for Dragon, I try to play on the other side from him and always make sure I get something in return. I play for myself when I am playing a weaker champion. Even if my laners lose lane, I cant really do much. Its on them to stabilize their own situation while I ramp up. The worst thing you can do on a weak champion early is die. As long as you are on the map, and you play efficient, the game will always present you with at least 1 or 2 moments to make a difference. You just have to be equal in gold or not too far behind when those moment comes.
      Look at how pro teams play especially around dragon and grubs. Its very common for them to handshake that they are going down 2 dragons in the early game when they are very weak and look to fight the 3rd one on their powerspikes.
      The bad teams (just like SoloQ) try to fight when its impossible to win and they end up giving away a much bigger gold lead than what was necessary. Its not a complete 1 to 1 with SoloQ but the premise is still there.

  • @newmeta1237
    @newmeta1237 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    i have a friend who always has the same playstyle with the same class of champions (not a problem, 1-tricking is fine) but most of the time when something goes wrong he blames the enemy champion being broken or bullshit instead of taking in that maybe it was a bad fight and that something went wrong on his end. it’s okay to take bad fights, to make bad decisions, the important part is that you take something from it and do better the next time.

    Hey! New subscriber here. This is the second video of yours I'm watching, but I figure I'd listen and write out what I need help with. I am currently gold 2 - plat 4 level after about 2 months of jungling (used to be a kata one trick, always hardstuck because I just played for kills. Came back to the game and swapped ot jungle to actually learn and climb)... I have a million things that probably need work, but the biggest struggles I have are:
    1) consistent jungle tracking -- preventing that example where I'm farming/killing top/doing grubs or something like that and elise goes bot, kills both, and now the game is super hard.
    2) when to fight vs give objectives and when to invade vs gank
    3) closing out games when I / my teammates have a lead
    All of this is to say that I never seem to know what to do to or what decisions are the correct ones to make in order to carry. I am where those people complaining you reference are, except self-aware, but I don't really know where to go from there. Hope this comment is helpful in giving you video ideas and I'd love your insight. Thanks!

    Having also watched your most recent guide (amazing!), what would your advice be for someone who fell in love with a "specialist" champ like Elise or Rengar but hasnt reached Diamond yet? Stick with it and prioritoze own resources? Is there any point sticking with those hard champ?

      If you have played them enough to the point where you feel very comfortable on them, then you can stick with them. The main reason why I said play the easier champions is to save time and games and because it frees up your mind to focus on the map, and not the mechanics. But play way more selfish than you do and prioritize getting yourself ahead above all. Especially if your champion scales very well.

    I’ve unsubscribed from most of the league channels but gladly stayed here. I would like to pitch an idea if you’d be interested in make it into a video in the future. I would like to know your take on when it’s the best time to take either merc treads or steel plate boots. For context, I’m not close to being the best at dodging CC, but ADCs and other auto attackers sure do hurt later in game. Thanks

    • @ECPlaysLoL
      @ECPlaysLoL  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Im happy that you have enjoyed my content and decided to stay! Means a lot😊
      Most efficient build path could be great for a video especially since so many people rely on just building what U.gg or Blitz tells them to build and they dont adapt to the game they are playing.
      For your specific example with boots, you are choosing between less auto attack damage with Steelcaps or more tenacity with Mercs. Most of the time if they have an autoattack heavy team or AD heavy team, like Tryndamere/Viego/Neeko/Jinx/Rell you would build Steelcaps.
      If they have something like Ornn/Skarner/Ahri/Caitlyn/Lux then Mercs have a lot more value because the MR and Tenacity will be more efficient.
      Who is the main carry? Who are you trying to shut down? Those are 2 good questions to ask when buying boots. Hope this helps.

    I had a game just now where I went 15/5/8. The 5 times I did die, I dived the enermy team, and stunned them. Got at least 1 kill each time. Had my team followed up, we would have won both the fight, and the objective. I told them to stop backing when I dive in. They gave me attitude. Stuff like "Shut up", "You weren't there last time" and "Daddy pls teach me". I called the jungler out, because he was going for solo fights, while me and him were hard carrying the game. We can't win a teamfight with just me and 3 "supports". We ended up surrendering for no reason. I'm guessing it was the 3 guys that were doing bad that voted. One guy kept saying "pls ff". We were close to equal. I had my 6 items and so did the jungler. We just had to push the lanes out a bit and pick off the 2 guys on their team that were carrying. 46 minutes wasted on a loss. I think I still had an A rating, but man, I wanted to play it out all the way. I got a kill right after the 3 votes went through. I would have certainly gotten 1 more right after if it didn't end. I'm not saying I would have wiped the entire team, but that would have been a crazy chance.

Both this season and last season i had some horendeous placement matches, with team's that made me wonder if i was with bots. I did well in almost all of them but i still lost 8 out of 10. To make clear what i mean by good, 1 of those 8 i played like shit too and might have been my fault, in 1 i was ok, and in 6 of them i had at the 20 min mark something like all 6 grubs, 3 drakes, 8 CS/min, and a score around 7-1 if not better, yet my team was still 20 kills behind the enemy and we lost horibly, i wanna know if there is something i might have done wrong for this to happen, or if i was just unlucky

    Often interested players just say "aha" in their head when they watch content or would write a simple comment like "thank you for review"
    Its usually because loudest people are most emotional so these feel need to express their frustrations while calm people have little to express
    Also understandable but unfair to expect any edu content to be same as clickbaity in popularity. There is always less high level players than people who just want to watch entertainment like Kesha. A lot of people who watch highlights dont even play the game, but only players watch educational / commentaries
    I like your channel but sometimes felt like some opinions were stated like facts instead of guidance, makes it feel a bit arrogant but its fine if thats the intention (cocky coaches are liked by people too)

      My issue with this is mainly that IRL you cant leave children in the classroom and let them fall behind. You have to adapt and come up with more creative ways of getting the message to them. I should have accepted this a long time ago that on TH-cam and especially league, its not the same as in the classroom and people who don't understand here or straight up refuses to understand are no longer my problem. Its not the same as in a classroom.
      As for your example, most of the time if you can rationalize in your head why you think a play is correct, then its most likely your best play. We cant control if people run it down or not. We just have to play consistent ourself and if we do that over a bigger amount of games, we would see a good net outcome results wise.
      Thank you for taking the time to write your thoughts down!😊

    I think Riot should turn off text chat for below plat. Literally no one knows what they're doing there--not even remotely close. Plat/Emerald players aren't much better but there are less people typing and whining about the dumbest shit.

    Im interested in the channel, but this video really made me think it was gonna be educational, not a rant about fortnite babies

    Blaming youtube because "They hate league guides" is the same as spam pinging your laners when you die invading an unwarded jungle. Regardless, I appreciate what you do.

    Honestly, my first impresion was that you are toxic. Because I thought that you are just blaming low elo players. But after I think about it for a moment, I think that the massege from this video is that most of content from yt is for most of people. And most people don't understend that league of legends is a very hard game. And thats why lol videos on yt are so bad. Interesting point of view. I think you should have underline that lol is really hard, tho.
