Old school tip (learned in cosmo school in the 70's) if you use just (20 or 30 volume) developer and q-tips you can carefully clean up any staining on the skin. I have always done this and never had any skin irritation problems. Be sure to clean skin with soap and water right after using developer.

I’m a Loreal Hicolor Hilight OG user, I used it for yearss! Here’s my “pro tip”- When it’s time to do her roots, Color Oops her whole head first! Remove as much old/brown permanent color as you possible can and then reapply the loreal hicolor hilight shade with 30vol roots-mids and 40vol mids-ends! Maximum vibrancy!

The mention of the red bleeding reminds me of my friend last year, we were doing psych clinicals with a really strict professor and at the time she wore a head covering, which also covered her red hair, but she got sweaty during clinical and sweated out red sweat all over her face.

This was around Halloween time so what did I end up finding as an innocent alternative? Halloween red spray dye at Walmart 😂 when I tell you I thought I rigged the system. I sprayed that bad boy on me the next morning and went to school. I was orange all over by 10am and my crush at the time thought my skin was burning and told me to go to the nurse asap hahaha. I use it to dye my daughter's hair since 4 years now. Her natural color is light brown but the first time we used it she had blue in the lengths. Now I only do the roots , she have a long bright red hair. Besides she used a color deposit mask every 2 weeks alternate with protein mask, shampoo and conditioner for red tones ,and that's she maintain her red color vibrant and healthy. I love how this turned out!! I usually get my hair colored red at my aunt's salon, but it always seems to pull a little more purple than I'd like. I'm totally gonna get some of that brighter red from Lunar Tides and mix it with my conditioner, see if that helps to bring it closer to true red for longer

when i was dying my hair regularly i would use red and magenta from loreal hicolor line on my black hair and i always loved how it turned out. She looks great!
BTW I dyed my brown hair bright red a few week's ago with a schwarzkopf box dye (raspberry passion) holt shit it works. Btw it never bleeds when i wash it but sometimes the drips are orange. Red is like the easiest colour to dye dark hair 😅😂

If it were me tackling this, I feel like I would have used a color remover first, as I wouldn’t trust the high lift to bust through that color evenly lol. But the end result is cute!! ❤ I’m impressed
Red definitely bleeds EVERYWHERE. I dyed my hair a nice deep burgandy color with Revlon box dye and while the color is absolutely gorgeous, because it bleeds out so fast, it was just too expensive to keep up on. I tried everything to keep it for as long as I could; cold water rinse only, only washing once a week, using color depositing conditioner, etc. it still came out faster than anything and I felt like I was re-dying it every few weeks and this was with permanent hair color.
Deep ginger red does this too. I go from this reach deep burnt orange colour to a pale ginger by the time I have only one cm in roots ☹️ I do use direct colour/colour rinses too but as they take as long to apply to my hair as permanent dye I usually just rock the paler washed out shade until I redye. One tip I've learned from hair vids is to only use vol 10 to deposit the due on the lengths and use a 20 or 30 vol only on the regrowth. Really saves damage to the lengths.
Love the color. So I wanted to know it if u ever used apple cide vinegar to make it to color last and not fade away?. I saw somewhere on the internet but no seen anyone tested. It would be a cool idea to make a video about it. 😊

So i used the red/magenta three months ago and it was a little bright for me and faded a little to warm for me, so I added some of the true violet and it cut the warmth. Tho I don't have any problems with staining after the initial wash. I also stopped using semi permanent now that I'm using the hi color dye

I made some mistakes at Sally Beauty this past weekend. But I think I’ve finally gotten my hair to white. 😮😂 Wasn’t trying to get there, but after I fucked up my hair it was either go lighter or darker to fix it, and I wasn’t going darker! Beautiful color you did here. Wish you could do my hair!
I’ve been thinking of using HiColor HiLights for years. I noticed recently the color selection had shrank and L’Oreal doesn’t have it on their website. I’m afraid if I uses this it’s going to be discontinued I won’t be able to keep up the color. I use a semi permanent red on my brown hair for a dark red. Maybe I’ll just stick with what I’m doing now.
Quick question, ive got natural medium dark brown hair and two bleached sections (with pink semi permanent dye) in my temple area. I want to go ginger… is there a way for it to all look cohesive and not end up with two bright orange patches at the sides of my head?

Household bleach does the same thing tbh and is cheaper. Also no damage provided you wash off and use moisturizer
I’ve been using this for the last 10 years. My natural hair color is a level 2. I use it with 30 developer and people compliment me all the time.
