No one optimizes a product like my dude Fisher!

Daniel Fisher is by FAR the best presenter at Sweetwater! And I’m saying this as a guitar player! :P But yeah, he has none of that used-car-salesman vibe I get off some of the other guys, and I hope his tribe increases lol

Totally agree, I love the ones he does where he just gets lost with programming

Don't get the used car salesman vibe from any of them as the primary purpose of these videos is not sale pitching, but they are made to be product demos for the gear listing on their website. Fischer is their synth guru. For guitars and keyboards, it doesn't get much better than Don Carr and Erskine Hawkins who are both master musicians and excellent presenters.

G I should clarify, I didn’t mean to imply the reputation used car salesman have for dishonesty or shiftiness at all! I TRUST Sweetwater and absolutely think they’re the best large-scale dealer out there. But there’s usually a wooden-ness and over-rehearsed quality to most of the other Sweetwater presenters. I often wish somebody made them pound a shot or two before the cameras roll or something. This is TH-cam for the benefit of musicians, not a board room for the benefit of shareholders - you can let your guard down and lose the script!

I enjoy hearing the harmonics generated by real Discreet components. That makes for more interesting and robust sounds. These modern iterations of analog are a lot less expensive then the early synths, and a lot more stable. Good job Daniel.

Yeah, I wish it had another LFO and a proper mod matrix but the raw oscs and fx are so good on this synth that you really could play them with very little added and they would be musical, which is huge.

Thanks so much Daniel! I just got one of these things used and had no idea what I was doing haha. (bought it because of the presets lol) Now this whole thing makes a lot more sense. Looking forward to getting some more user oscillators up in this thing.

This is a music producer beast of a synth to get crazy sounds quickly by just turning some knobs and get on with the track production. Not a sound designer synth as it has 2 big limitations: one pole filter and one LFO but.... Multi timbral (wow), 8/16 voices fully analogue + wavetables. Analogue OSC sound like butter, make me want to taste and eat the sound Gorgeous sounding FX, the reverbs (submarine) especially plus it's smaller than the usual synths, having the wheels up which I find more convenient. I have the 8 version only 70cm long. The keys are superb like playing on velvet. If you're a producer like me this is for you. It will inspire you. If you're a sound designer putting hours of work into building sound packs this isn't for you unless you want another toy to have fun with. This synth is fun and immediate, I hate menu diving but this is quick and not lot I found to dig out. I get awesome weird sounds by not even using the wavetables nor the menu... Yes. Plus it looks and feels A+ grade. I tried a few synths before this, Prophet 6 (massive synth beautiful but way more limited than this + not cheap), Deepmind 12, Modal argon 8, Waldorf Blofeld. I finally found the one at an affordable price which inspires me every time I turn it on. This fucker turns me on too so my gf gets jealous lol.

Always a top notch presentation, by a passionate synth enthusiast who also happens to work for a great music store. Thanks Dan ! You almost convinced me to sell my REV2 to get a Prologue...

Daniel is a sample & hold wave possible in this synths 3rd oscillator. I love that old sample & Hold wave on the Oberheim synths LFO. Hopefully you can show me how to produce this sound on this or the novation summit synth.

Very good demo. Can you modulate a sperate lfo to the multi engine osc shape or do we have to use the main lfo of the synth ?
