Its amazing how such a simple change, as working a back loop only, can take an already lovely pattern and kick it into a whole new level of texture and beauty! Thank you for the reminder to be sure not to forget we are ALTERNATING stitches. I whisper aloud to myself as I work and find it helps....people may think I'm crazy but, it works for me. Love your videos and patterns❤
Dear Olga. I have admired your work for a very long time. I am sorry to hear you and others on TH-cam are struggling. Thank you for having the courage to share your experience so we all may better understand your struggles and do what we can to support your channel and, more importantly, you. I will be 🤓 watching 👍.
@Olga Poltava • Olga: You said in your post yesterday that this would be easy. I agree. Single & double crochet stitches are so basic that this will be fun. I was thinking of making this into a sleeveless spring top. Since the pattern is a two stitch repeat, a top should be easy to size. I only need to think about how long and how snugly I want the top to fit. Thanks for showing us such a pretty, versatile pattern.
I think it's a great stitch for a sleeveless spring top. Like you said, because it's only a two stitch repeat, it's easy to size and make decreases/increases. Also, the crochet fabric is dense enough, so it won't be a see-through top. But it's not too dense, so it will be light enough. Anyways, good luck with your top. I myself am thinking of trying this stitch for a sweater.
Sometimes simple is more elegant. Love the back loop scenario. Always look forward to your tutorials. I can see a lovely beanie as a matched set with the scarf
Beautiful stitch pattern…love the texture…my to do list is getting longer and longer…will make a nice summer sleeveless top with a 2 weight yarn!!! Now I have to select my yarn!!! Thank you so much for sharing your talent and making wonderful videos that are easy to follow and understand!!! Stay safe and be blessed ❤
A summer sleeveless top is a great idea. This stitch is dense enough, so the fabric won't be see-through. But at the same time, it's not super dense, so the fabric will be light enough.
Hi, Olga. This really is a nice stitch pattern! I wouldn't mind trying this for a baby blanket also. I think I might add this stitch pattern as one of my go-to patterns because it is simple and I really love textured patterns in crochet. :)
Just dropping by to give my support! I’ll make sure to like, favorite, and comment on every video of yours that I watch. It’s a small thing to offer considering all of your hard work. 🥰
Olga, this looks very pleasant, and it was exciting to see a new video pop up. I might try it out as part of a dish cloth I've been making, now that I think of it. It seems like it might fit in well. I've actually just started making a different pattern of yours, one of the chunky lace scarves, and it's going well so far. I'm using much thinner yarn, but was able to scale it easily, and it's coming out delightfully delicate. It's also pretty simple to crochet, even if for now I still need to double check what comes next every time I switch rows. I'm looking forward to seeing what it looks like once it starts getting longer than about four inches.
I'm so glad you like this video and that you are using another one of my tutorials for your current project. Yes, a lot of them can be used with different yarns and even adjusted for other projects. I always try to include the multiple for the stitch in the description box below the video, so that crocheters can scale it for other projects. Thank you so much for your comment! Happy crocheting!
Could you start this scarf with your alternative method you showed? Beautiful!! I may try this. I’m not as experienced and really have to pay attention to what I’m doing!! 😅
Recently found you n love your tutorials especially the lacy ones. Working on a scarf now n wish I had seen this stitch first. Easy but so pretty. Ty. ♥️
I have a bad habit of just watching the videos long enough to see how to make the item being shown. I've only recently found that the person making the video gets no credit unless a person watches the whole video and I don't know if stopping it like I did now to post this comment takes away also. Do we need to watch the whole video without stopping it.I also stop it to catch up to the videographer
