Can I Give Dark Souls These Hands? | Fist Weapon Only Challenge Run

- Today I start the next series in my Swole Challenge series, fist weapons only in Dark Souls Remastered! Will my fists be enough for me to make my way through Lordran, or will I end up going Hollow?
Rules for the run:
1. I can only cause damage from “fist” type weapons or my bare hands
2. I’ll allow the use of buffs from non fist sources like pyromancies and sorceries, but they aren’t allowed to cause any direct damage themselves.
3. I can’t use any shields in my off hand, and I’m banning the use of any super pose armor for the duration of the run.
4. I must defeat all bosses for both the main game and DLC

caestus's damage seem so low in DS1... I swear I had the most fun with Caestus in DS3

@@SwolbiWanKenobi what is your DS3 plan? I’ve been playing DS3 so much recently, i tried changing weapon after every boss just so i can try the variety. Dual fists and claws are so much fun. Especially crow talons against sister Friede, makes it too easy
Fist weapons in DS3 and Elden Ring are actually phenomenal! On my Guts run in DS3, popping Perseverance and slugging it out with the Abyss Watchers was the most fun time I've had with that boss.
Endure + Spiked Caestus on a STR/ARC build in Elden Ring also makes for some great fights, too. Slap Bloodflame Blade on that bad boy, and now you've got fists of fire that can _punch the blood_ out of your enemies, muahahaha!!!
Let’s just say that my DS1 damage is going to look phenomenal

I'm guessing DS1 isn't like 3 where the dark hand can be used in the right hand to deal damage.
The R1 does about half of the physical damage of a caestus, while the R2 is a grab attack that doesn’t work on most bosses. Fun for pvp and stealing humanity, but you can’t even level it to increase damage.

you have so much potential you must grind until you hit like ymfah level of editing. like normalize music and speech volume, increase bitrate of the video (not resolution, but the bitrate) in your recording software, also a montage of many short clips at normal speed is more appealing than a single sped up sequence (but yes, it requires more work)

@@SwolbiWanKenobi I don't do any video editing myself but I am a computer graphics engineer (these neat math algorithms that do light physics simulation, display 3d objects on 2d screens, video stream optimizations etc. come from my colleagues), and I work with people that do video editing for educational purposes or for advertising their company product, and the more I listen to what they want from me, the more it seems like there is some kind of a formula that gives your videos more attention. I wanna say that there is nothing wrong with straight up copying your editing style from such advanced creators as ymfah. Of course you still need something unique, but all the basic things are the same from creator to creator
The TH-cam algorithm definitely dips it’s toes into the most popular videos under certain umbrellas, and recommends new videos with similar features if you tag it as belonging to said umbrella
But people watching a new video in mass can overwrite the algorithm to an extent, if only for a short period.

I liked your video, but the boss fights are too long. I don’t want watch a 90 second clip of you fighting the boss with no commentary.
I’d rather hear you talk about the boss fight over a shorter clip.
I thought the same thing after watching it a few times myself. My next video will probably cut a lot of the dead air, either reducing the amount of the fight I show, or providing insight to what I was thinking as I fought the boss.

Number 2 rule is contradictory. Buffs do direct damage all the time. If they didn't, they wouldn't be buffs.
You are buffing the Caestus. Buffing the Caestus means you're increasing the damage output when you punch. Punching is incredibly direct. Therefore, your number 2 rule is contradictory.
Go ahead and do a magic weapon play through without punching afterwards, looking forward to the video!
