Really excited to get Arcade! Even though it’s pretty much a guy in a suit I need him for my display. Not sure if anyone remembers Marvel Ultimate Alliance but that’s also why I wanted this.
Arcade was the one bad guy I was most anticipating for and now we finally have him. I have to say that the BOTBGS wave is my favorite so far. Looking forward to the reviews on the Ursa Major wave. I bit the bullet and bought the wave. X-cellent review as you do,Shartimus.
As always, the best review in town. I don't like this figure though. He looks like he should be doing standup in a nightclub. And his name should be Rusty Spokes.
I'm a fan of having new characters in scale to my other figures, so yes he's a get for me, having a second head is a nice bonus, as you pointed out, it doesn't have to be an Arcade head, we got an Angry Archie or whatever you want, a new red head male face sculpt. He's my 2nd least favorite character from this wave, but this is just a really solid wave with an excellent baf, and considering that the wave consists almost entirely of first (for "good Hasbro") comic figures makes it worthy even without the baf. (there is a reason I haven't bought a single Mcfarlane figure, it feels like a line that is never going to expand.... and it would be a waste of money to spend on out of inaccurate to the source material figures that in three years when the contract runs out and another company with ambition takes over, and does DC right, and puts the McFarlane garbage in the dustbin of history with their 40 Batmans and 30 supermans and 0 Blue Beetles)
@Alan Doane without the platform shoes he would still be too tall: ideally he’d be a head shorter than everyone else, but it’s not like they were going to make a new mold just for a character like Arcade lol
So I’m starting a display of heroes fighting their arch enemies, I know who most of the arch enemies are I just need to know who are are the nemeses of war machine, falcon, Hawkeye, ant-man (Hank Pym), Wasp and quicksilver does anyone know?
War Machine - any Iron Man villain, specially Iron Monger and Mandarin. Falcon - Baron Zemo I guess. Ant-man - Ultron. Wasp - Any Ant-man villains, but Titania may be a good one for sizs difference. Quicksilver - He doesn't have a specific arch-enemy, but I guess any X-Men or Avengers villain, like Toad or Mr. Hyde would work.
Arcade was always a fun villain for me. Never taken too seriously, especially in the great Excalibur story Shartimus has as a background at the start of the video. Felt Arcade went too far with Avengers Arena, horribly killing some of the younger characters. Great story, but mean spirited stuff.
