Always have loved your vids Nick; you bring so much life to the art of drumming, and it shows in how you describe every drum, cymbal, and piece of hardware you’ve reviewed.
They sound great. I get many of these kits on back line. The sound guys love them because they are naturally focused and controlled. Reasonably priced compared to other pro lines. And they stay in tune throughout the night's beatings!
Beautiful kit and Nick your playing makes it even better. I’ve always preferred the reduced size turret lugs. The finish is striking. Thanks and Blessings Nick!
I love my DW Performance Series kit. Mine is the "Gunmetal Metallic Lacquer" in the 24/12/16 configuration with the 6x5x14 matching snare. Its a fantastic kit. It would sound even better with Nick D. playing it. LOL
Hello Nick I’ve been a fan of yours since tears for Fears days. You’ve got incredible chops till this day💪 I still rock The Tears for Fears albums till this day. old albums are so great and futuristic sounding and soothing for the soul, and I’m so grateful that you represent DW drums. 😀
Love the kit, review and obviously nick being one of the greatest. BUT, one thing i want to point out, why can't the claws on the bass hops have a rubber base? Like Pearl and tama have been doing that, it prevents the ring from getting dings and scratches. Just a thought. Ok bye.
Nice vid. I have DW's very first tangerine stained kit with their very first 24x20 kick vintage 1993. All custom sizes Paid $5300 Took about 10 months to make Sizes with hoop rings 10x8 12x11 14x14 16x16 7x14 snare This kit still sounds amazing and imo better than any other kit i have played or heard....lol
Saludos!
For such an expensive Drums, I would expect that the tuning hoops look more premium. The bass drum hoop claw for this DW looks as cheap as it can. Far away from other brands that are not so expensive in a similar model like starclassic from Tama, Pearl Masters Maple or Sonor SQ1, etc you will realize that there is a lot of hype with DW.
6:20 Graduated Triple Flanged hoops... Come on now, DW. You're telling me that smaller hoops weigh less and bigger hoops weigh more? How on Earth did you achieve this impossible feat of engineering??? You just took a basic fact of physics and claimed it as a feature. Don't do that.
Lol its not that they weight more only its the thickness off the rim that actually changes. 1.6 mm small toms 2.3 mm on biger toms and 3.0mm on snares. Not a crazy thing but its actually i tended to let the smaller tomes resonate a bit more since the 1.6mm weighs less then if you put a 2.3 or 3.0 or diecast.
Yeah “engineer” is a bad title. I’ve been buying from sweetwater for years but every time I talk to one of these “engineers”, I know more than they do about whatever I’m calling in for and then they annoy you with unsolicited sales calls 2 weeks later. Pushy sales tactics.
Funny cause i have been buying with sweetwater 10 years plus and they are nothing but helpful. Willing to match or beat prices snd never bother i have been called very few times about something with my order. No push to buy easy returns. Get emails on deals. Been a great experience unlike other companies i have purchased from
not sure what sound you are looking for. Lots of drums out there. Guessing you are an import owner? Predictable comments from the Asian drum owners. They sound pretty dam good to me, and I get them on back line often, and they are solid, and play very strong. I am a Sonor player, but much respect to DW, great drums-

Congratulations because the DW performance series is A Sweetwater exclusive
Man there’s just something about the way DW toms sound that’s indescribably beautiful. The punch is incredible.
They are so warm round and fulll. No other drums sound like them or as good as them imo.

UPDATE: just purchased shell pack and got some zildjian custom A’s. Can’t wait till it comes in!
I love when people say DW sound dead and muddy and then they say Tama and pearl are better😂😂 tama and pearl. The boxiest sounding drums ever.
Ohhh wow! Sounds tight!

I want a blue kit that includes an 8inch Tom. 3 top, 1 floor.
Hay alguna diferencia significativa entre la dw performance y la dw design series?

"Sales Engineer" is a bad title. It makes them sounds like they'll do anything they can to get your money out of you.
In my country these guys are called commercialists
It's supposed to sound better than salesman. "Engineer" is an advanced specialist.
@@HadEnough745 Yes but they're an expert in engineering a sale. Like - i'm an expert in doing whatever it takes to get your money.

Doesn't sound that great for the price
Nope. DW for me are like PRS for guitar. have always sounded dull and muddy.
