That genuine anger from Burnie to ESPN is great.
bernie talks about his cat drinking outta the sink like every 3rd podcast
I can't tell if you misspelled his name on purpose or if this is just legitimately ironic...
BURNie.
The burns does what the burns wants xD
Just realized this podcast has a Canadian, American, Britain and Mexican mind blown
xSlingerx and a Korean ( Gus is Both Mexican and Korean)
damian martinez no, Ray's dead
Alec Giroux Gus is not Korean at all. His wife is.
Oh ok, Honest mistake
xSlingerx Who's Canadian here?
Who needs notifications when you don't sleep and don't know what to do but watch youtube.
this is hachnivars second account
I'm with you there buddy.
Wouldn't it be awesome if you didn't need to sleep? That would free up so much time!
Podcast A team right here. Doesn't get better than this.
Adding Michael instead of Barbara could be a nice touch
Chris for barbara
Aaron for Barbara (not me although that'd be dope)
UGH, Gus, Burnie, Joel and Griffon are the real A team.
Literally what I thought when I saw it pop up
Burnie confirmed officially drunk at 1:00:20.
Xison more like half way between buzzed and drunk
When Burnie gets mad he sounds just like that one character he voiced, Cathedral.
Ah yes, I love the iconic character from the hit machinima series, canyon boys
The entire regular cast of the podcast needs to be on more often, only watched the first thirty minutes so far and it has been pure gold
22:45 Barbara seemed genuinely concerned with how Gus did his business in High School. That was hilarious the way she said that.
I laughed so hard when Burnie was talking about pissing in one's own yard but then he goes "ITS NOT WEIRD i've pissed in Gus' yard"
Calling anything RT has ever done offensive after watching content creators like Filthy Frank or IDubbbz is hilarious to me
I'm halfway through the podcast and I really REALLY want to see Gus' picture of the bathroom in Sydney lmao
I love justifiably salty Burnie.
I have fully transitioned from standing-wipe to sitting-wipe because of this podcast.
As you should. Doing that while standing is lunacy.
drunk Burnie... high quality content.
I feel like I could listen to Bernie talk forever lol. He's so conversational and just the tone to his voice, It always feels like hes about to tell a story.
My dog doesn't like people watching him poop, he will hide behind a tree for privacy.
Cooooooooooooooooooool
This has been the best podcast in a long time
first podcast where I remember them talking about something they already talked about like a year ago. It's weird, I'm becoming a vet.
I came here specifically for 21:51. Also, kudos to the booth for cutting to Barb at that moment. You guys are psychic.
This was a remarkably mature approach to talking about offense and political correctness which I really appreciate.
Alexander Schuetz yeah. unlike the comment section, they were very mature about it.
Political correctness is bullshit
Nothing better than seeing these 4 on the podcast 👌🏻
I think it's fine for people to be offended at whatever they want. What's a problem is when they expect things to change based on that alone. Of course, if the creator wants to avoid offense that's fine, but people these days act like being offended automatically gives you the moral high ground.
It is the duty of people with a sense of humor to push the boundaries of what is acceptably funny
"You're wastin water if you're not peeing in the shower"
A woman after my own heart
good on you, Burnie. its super cool to acknowledge how your humor changes over time, whether its appropriate, and comfortable.
Burnie was right about ESPN , they laid off 100 people and some of them were widely known. Its sad their network is going downhill.
"Emotion has become a kind of currency"- Burnie Burns. That is insightful as something very insightful. Good stuff
every time I look at the comments on a RT video on their site vs youtube the difference is astounding. youtube sucks, as always
Well that's because the true fans aren't cancer and prefer to watch on the site because they don't like the TH-cam community.
or and hear me out on this you don't bother with the comments stay on the site with the crappy player
Well, you'd know. You just made a comment on TH-cam. Don't like, don't read. It's a choice, like the choice the officer gives you to keep quiet. Or how your father should've told you "if you ain't got something nice to say, then keep yer trap shut".
then why would you even bother to come here? it's the same as with burnie's story where the guy waited for him to tell him he didn't like his car
+Felipe Rojas it's true i was the guy
When Burnie says he pissed in Gus' backyard you can see a little ledger in Gus' head reminding himself never to invite Burnie over again
I think it's best to keep the joke up, acknowledging that it was in poor taste is god and avoiding the joke in the future is best. But to remove it is, in my opinion, similar to denying that you would have made that joke. Cataloging personal growth is much more valuable than just preserving a false presentation of yourself.
TheVoxxification can someone tell me when or what the joke was
Mikeys MotionMovies in the rtaa Gus doesn't want to go to vegas
couldn't agree more! (as someone who's trans and technically fits in the group he made a joke about). burnie's a good guy who wants to grow and improve and make sure he doesn't hurt other people. i'd rather he not take it down not only for what you said but also because i can smell the 'weh those oversensitive sjws ruining my life' comments from over sensitive internet commenters who don't quite understand irony lmao
Speaking of keeping the joke up, I am making fun of every comment on here which has poor grammar, syntax, or spelling. Not because it's funny, but because it makes me feel better about myself. Ableism for the win!
I love how so many people get butt hurt over jokes, look i know what its like to get made fun of (redhead, fat kid) but honestly jokes are just that a JOKE. we all need to lighten up and learn to laugh at ourselves, otherwise we will get to a state of political correctness that we wont have free speech. We should have the right to say what we want to say without be ridiculed for it.
it's 2:30AM and I have exams tomorrow.. but I can't stop watching these podcasts xD
If Burnies jokes offend you, you'd better stay away from Frankie Boyle.
I bet it's about transvestite ally
nvm he said it
Frankie Boyle is the man
If someone is even offend by one joke.He should consider giving up on life
If you like humour that offends other people you should learn to laugh about yourself when it offends you. As simple as that.
When I see Burnie's empty glasses and think, "That was us. We did that," and I feel so proud.
I see people in the comments talk about snowflakes and how people shouldn't censor their comedy, and people talking about the joke being in poor taste. What I'm failing to see are people saying what Burnie actually said in the video - it's the comedian's choice. If they want to make a joke and are comfortable making it, then it's their call if they're gonna worry about it offending people. Clearly, Burnie wouldn't be comfortable with it, and that's fine - he's not censoring others, is he?
Well, but you have to make sure you don't start bowing to everything though, because then you won't be able to joke about anything period. You're seeing people fighting back against PC culture now because we're at the point as a society in general that we're very close to not being able to joke about anything. Companies are apologizing left and right these days for what amounts to nothing more than the mere perception of something being racist or misogynist, etc.
+cocacola150dr
companies aren't comedians and it's still someone's choice.
what burnie described wasn't "bowing to everything" so it's completely inappropriate in this context. when people are constantly coming out of the woodwork to pounce on anything and everything that even suggests that they could consider watching their language despite the actual wording in question putting the agency entirely in their hands then it just comes off as people genuinely holding bigoted beliefs and throwing themselves down the throat of anyone who challenges that belief.
Because if you can genuinely believe that people who are offended by something are right to do so about anything then you have to admit that that subject matter is wrong.
and that's the difference. to a comedian making a joke it should be just a joke. if your job is to be funny then you shouldn't need offensive humor as a crutch, you should just be able to be funny. so then it's up to you what kind of humor you want to do and to judge if and when you've crossed a line and whether you should cross it again. if you find yourself truly unable to even examine yourself in this situation then odds are it's more than just a joke to you.
And that's kind of the point really. people who don't mean it won't have much of a problem with not saying it.
tobimisa nothing is inappropriate in comedy.
To comment on Gavin saying people are becoming more sensitive, I don't think so, I just think more people are comfortable expressing that something upsets them or makes them uncomfortable with the changing tides of society of accepting everyone as is (at face value).
I don't mind offensive comedy, I mean what comedian isn't offensive? What person isn't? The issue I personally have is when someone disguises a mean comment/insult as a joke.. It isn't a joke if you're trying to hurt someone, comedy is about laughing and sometimes thinking about the subject at hand.
+MechaSixVII
I said the responses in the comments were inappropriate, learn how to read.
The first two and a half minutes of this podcast are gold
Just get a bidet and be done with toilet paper...
Yes, you are correct. I do keep the toilet paper handy for that reason. It's still a very minimal amount. You could always get the fancy bidets that have the dryer though. In all seriousness, the bidet is a life changer. Never living without one.
The toilet paper conversation was hilarious
Love the conversation about jokes, specifically the morality of jokes. I personally believe that any given subject is comedy-worthy, but it relies solely on context.
If anyone says 'you shouldn't joke about THAT,' then they're most likely a hypocrite, because if they don't find that particular offensive subject funny, they probably find a different - equally offensive - topic funny.
And also, so many people cannot understand satire or irony, which leads to misunderstandings.
sitting in the dark in a power outage watching this and the podcast takes a super deep turn...
COWCHOP!
CovvChop
Lol
what time where they on?
Eww
jayde jacob they're not
"THOSE GUYS ARE WEIRD" at the end got me!
Cow Chop fans wanting to see the clip 1:34:39
Thank you!! Had to do some scrolling to get to this comment
YES. HELL YES. Ty RT Original Podcast once again.
I missed this cast.
I love the RT Podcast, I love it to bits. My only exception is, Burnie, I don't know why, but his tone when he talks about these luxurious, hi-end situations is almost.. condescending. I get it, it's great for stories and such but he tells them like he's being relatable towards the audience. That's just me. Other than that, I love the RT podcast for bringing such great guests!
The problem is that roosterteeth now a large company that has to worry about PR, the reason they didn't have to worry about it 10 years ago was because they were just a bunch of buddies making funny videos. Don't be ashamed of where u came from guys
Regretting a joke is not the same as being ashamed of where you came from
He didn't even regret it, he just said he wouldn't make it nowadays because it's a more sensitive issue.
Drunk Burnie needs to happen every week.
too late to be first, but to early to read interesting comments.
1:16:28 Yes, Gus. We can all tell how excited you are.
You can joke about anything. Joking is not the same as insulting. I'm Hispanic and do I care if you make racist jokes about Hispanics? of course not. I don't even care you insult me directly. I'm not a child. There are bigger problem than jokes and meaningless words.
Oz of Kamelot I feel like if my friends make jokes about things like this I'm totally fine by it (instead of a random person on the street) because I can trust that they are not serious and are just making funny jabs. Hell, I'd joke back and everyone being offensive is just so much fun.
Comedians used to have as much leeway, being able to make offensive jokes to people they're not friends with. We trusted them because they were comedians. But people these days have such thin skins that even friends can't do joke anymore (not my friends).
Jokes can have an influence on culture and how people perceive things, it evolves culture and culture can evolve to hurt races (ie: Hispanics)
Oz of Kamelot you also don't speak for every Hispanic though and people have the right not to want to be made fun of.
Metal Marauder No, they don't have the right. They have the right to complain and give their opinion on that matter. There are jokes I don't like, but guess what? I believe in freedom of speech even if it offends me or anybody else. You don't get the right to shut somebody up. You can only shut yourself up. What you want is no diffrent than tyranny or dictatorship. You have the right to no like a joke or disapprove of it. You got the right to be offended. But that's it. You don't control anybody.
Oz of Kamelot I mean I don't have the right to tell the KKK to shut up, but in gonna do it anyways.
When you hittin it from the back and she turns around and says "I'd like to remind everyone that this podcast is brought to you by casper matresses"...
Isn't it ironic how all these people in the comments are offended by people being "too sensitive"?
I don't think it's accurate to say that they are offended by people being too sensitive. But there do seem to be more people who complain about people being offended and sensitive than there are people who are actually too sensitive.
+BlackPuma He said it was because he feels like he's grown - there wasn't a mass calling for him to apologise or take it back, that joke is OLD. But he wanted to because he wanted to acknowledge it. That's big of him. Being able to acknowledge that you're embarrassed of things you've done is difficult enough, and it's even more difficult when he could have just never addressed it.
And like... if being upset by insensitivity and ignorance is being offended, then being upset by people wanting to not be insensitive to people who aren't like them is being offended too. Offended by offence is exactly what it is XD Especially when those people harp on about free speech (which... they need to look up because it's not what they think it is) and in the same breath tell those who have been genuinely hurt to shut up.
Like don't get me wrong I hate the "white knights" as much as the next guy, but if I go "hey that made me uncomfortable and here's why, you could also hurt other people doing the same thing" and someone essentially tells me to suck it up because that person can't handle the thought of thinking of others then, eh, I'm gonna err on the side of them being wayy immature.
DRAKEnN342 I don't think you know what offended means
It's not being offended, there's a difference between being offended and saying something is not ok, I feel like being offended you yourself are "triggered" and the other thing is people saying this is a problem and there needs to be a fix
Annoyed and offended or two completely different things
Gus, Gavin/Ellie/Barbara, Burnie on the Podcast in that order ASAP
Finally some GGBB .. that's nasty
I love how Bernie's cat has trained him
Gotta respectfully disagree with Burnie about what you can/can't joke about. That's the beauty of comedy in Modern Western society , you can joke about whatever the hell you want without repercussion. If someone is offended by a joke the problem is the joke receiver, not the teller. A joke can still be bad or not funny, I just don't think "comedians" should ever be afraid to tell a joke at the risk of offending a few.
He isn't afraid to make that joke. He just doesn't want to make the joke now.
And I totally respect that choice.
Gavino Frees HOW DARE YOU GIVE YOUR OPINION IN WHICH I DISAGREE!! Just kidding, I see your point. But I personally think that if you make a joke maliciously then you shouldn't make that joke. If it's a joke that isn't designed to put people down, and people are offended by it, then that's on them. But if the joke is designed to mess with people, then that is a bad joke and you shouldn't use that joke. Again, that's me and my view.
I like that you took the time to talk about it. why make someones life experience harder over a joke, were all just trying to be happy and be good people and I think that conversation shows how good hearted you guys are.
THE CREW!
To sum up this podcast, pronunciation and spelling issues with media and pooping xD
Best way to spend my Wednesday
Patricia
Thank you Bernie for greenlighting the next season of H&H in your meeting. There are still fans.
Do we have to walk on eggshells just so we don't offend somebody?
Doesn't it feel like that anymore? I posted about not liking the casting for a movie coming out (having read all the books the movie was based on) and how I probably wasn't going to go see it and was immediately told I was entitled and selfish and people worked hard on that movie and who the hell cares what I think because I'm a nobody. So nobody can have an opinion either because if it differs from someone else's, it's immediately wrong and you've offended the other person.
Yes. Too many soft skinned people.
it's funny because I play with a bunch of guys (I'm like 1 of the 2 females in the clam XD) and their vulgar and funny and I join in on the stupidity that we say while playing OverWatch; and if I were to say or act the way I do when I game, I'd be chastised immediately.
Elizabeth Honda well... you shouldn't walk on egg shells because that kills chicken and you'll offend PETA.
Î didn't actually think my comment would get any likes, I kind of fell like I should thank people... ^^^ I agree, I've noticed a shift in peoples attitudes towards things like that and closely related things.
There are so many points in this podcast that I'm like, exactly
offensive comedy is the only true comedy
Comedy is inherently offensive
Now That's What I Call Edgy
Tragedy + time = comedy
The whole reason for a joke is to look at the brighter and more comical side of a usually more taboo subject.
NonDripHelmet '.,??..
,
.?
This podcast reminded me of the older pre video podcasts. The anger is real and I LOVE IT
Burnie acts like a real transvestite in this podcast
coadman1 right
How so?
i laughed so hard when gavin said "wet wipes run out"
21:50-22:06 Future RTAA, i bet you my bottom dollar.
I swear Burnie talks about the cat tap every podcast now hahaha
*Wait! where's Gus?*
I'm with Gavin. Running while drunk is THE BEST!
offense is not given it is only taken.
what is or is not ofensive to some1 is entirely subjective. If you can not distinguish between a joke and some1 saying something out of malice then u need to re-evaluate your life
^ perfect explanation (even if burnie's joke isn't quite on that level).
communication 101
I didn't notice how old this video is, until Gus mention PUBG. I at first thought that what they said was a joke. It is still a funny episode more than a year later.
Barbara: "That's his problem"
So it's not your problem when you offend someone with a joke either then....?
boom
Offense was not intentionally given out. The person took offense.
William Barnes-McCallum she still dating aron?
William Barnes-McCallum No it is your problem if you're offended when there's no intent... Just don't be so uptight about what you are, it doesn't give you immunity
William Barnes-McCallum correct
"I learned all of this. All of this was learned." Burnie Burns - 2017
"By me"
#proudtexan
since we are on the talk about wiping and toilet paper, I grab the roll (off of the roll holder), wrap my hand in toilet paper, 3 rotations around my hand with fingers scrunched together and stand up and wipe from bottom to top.
holy crap how did i know the comments on this were gonna be garbage
as a trans person, i'm not offended by a stupid joke burnie made 11 years ago, but i am glad he recognized that it wasn't in good taste and said he wouldn't make the joke today.
TTsuyuki It is called 'an opinion'. Obviously tastes vary. Nobody even mentioned anything about not allowing you to make jokes about those things, just don't expect your jokes to be funny to everybody.
Totes agree, but your comment is less than acceptable from a formatting perspective. Hence, I am making fun of you. #picklepartydontcare
jessi erin What's so bad about the formating? #constructivecriticismparty
you trans as in actual trans that got the surgery, or someone playing make believe?
I'm ashamed of how long this took me to realize, but I just realized that the more drunk people on the podcast are the better the podcast is.
People are way to sensitive these days.
give it 5 years and PC culture will disappear
one can only hope
A way to where?
WrathOf Grimm No. What's changed is the ability for people to project their sensitivity.
DRAKEnN342 this right here
These guys are ahead of their time.
nothing wrong with the transvestite alley joke
fdub301 its not really as acceptable to say transvestite instead of transgender nowadays
John Murph a transvestite isn't transgender it's just a cross dresser. you wouldn't call a man who cross dresses transgender
fdub301 fml i just keep mixing up all this new PC lingo. I thought it was the same xD. Ny bad
John Murph It happens, transvestite was really more of an 80s word & usually used to refer to prostitutes afaik
I know what Burnie means though, "tranny alley" became a pretty common phrase for a sleazy place. I wouldn't really call that a joke at that point, so I totally understand why he wouldn't want to say it anymore.
I'm Gus, I'm Gavin, I'm Barbara, I am Catbug, and I'm Gus.
people are too sensitive nowadays , if people get offened from a joke, theyre not being forced to watch it, they can choose not to watch stuff like this- people.who campaign against comedians should campaign against real threats to their community
Cooooooooooooooooooool
I had this podcast on in the backround while I was studying for a test, only to hear my name spoken by Gavin out of nowhere... You freaked me out
Am I the _only_ person who thinks people have _every_ right to point out when something offends them? Like, wtf, are people just supposed to bottle it all up and never say how they feel?
Everyone is constantly saying "why is everyone so sensitive these days?"
I want to know why it has become cool to be such an edgy hardass.
Juliassacre it's fine go say you're offended but it's the people who are saying "you can't make that joke because it offends me" is who they're talking about.
Juliassacre the world doesnt care if somebody is offended
people need to grow thicker skin
its also ironic that edgy hardasses get offended by "sensitive" people
like what a stupid meta joke here
You're forgetting the fact that some people point it out because it genuinely offends them. Some people point it out because they feel offended, which is not the same thing. Others point it out because of all the attention they get. And other people just want others to feel shitty, enjoying the power trip of rubbing the eraser on their forehead.
IF you're offended, make sure you know where you stand, when you see others offended, figure out where they stand.
Because, see, we live in a decade where education is gloriously poor, and, by education, i mean on all facets and aspects, and education results in people who can logically deal with being offended or not.
IN short, i don't think you know what the word means anymore, what the implications are, and what exactly it means to be offended.
As for why the purge of sensitive souls? Simple, because only the feeble minded can be fell with words, words that ultimately, tomorrow, a decade, half a century later will mean just about as much as a grain of salt means in a bucket of ocean water.
I have to ask, do you stay half an hour to figure out if a nick in your shirt is worth throwing the shirt out because of what others are going to think of it?
IF you do...well, i'm deeply sorry for you, OR, hope you'll ripen soon.
IF you don't, then, why can't you bring that attitude, that thinking, to every aspect of your life?
I for one, can't be bothered to deal with every little of God's children, mainly because when i was a kid, my uncle told me what his offense meant, dealing with tyrants like the rest of his generation, because others couldn't.
I cannot take anyone seriously when they say they are offended by words. WORDS. What happens when you nick your fingers on a paper? You crawl under a desk and cry yourself to sleep? Does a cloudy day make you think of death? Is your battery low, and so, you contemplate the end of all?
Edgy...hardass...ya'll wouldn't know what an edge is, or what hard ass meant even if the WORDS decided to run you over in reverse.
yeah you can say something offends you, thats the beauty of free speech, but free speech dosnt mean people have to listen, no one has the right to be heard, they only have the right to speak
man i love drunk rants, brought to you by Burnie
It is not your responsibility to worry about other people's overly sensitive emotions. I understand that you are public figures and it can have a real impact on your livelihood if you say the wrong thing, but on the other hand you have to stand your ground to oppose this b/s overreaction culture that social media is creating.
tbh i don't think burnie changes out of obligation - he seems like a good guy, it's natural for people to grow and change. transvestite is a pretty loaded word and it's nice to hear that he doesn't think that way anymore, and it seems like he's done it because he feels best knowing he doesn't hurt others. in this case it's really just a case of him going "yeah, i'm different now" and that's really all that necessary (beyond, really, if is humour has changed he doesn't even need to acknowledge it). people do overreact but burnie's ability to admit he's done stuff he's no longer proud of is actually pretty big of him - especially because it was so long ago.
i think, aside from that thing, that "overreaction culture" is also blown out of proportion from the reactions from "the other side", y'know? like overreactions are just as common from the people who are like 'lol cry about it more sjw'. you only see the louder overreacting people from both sides which suuuucks because it'd be so much better to just have chill conversations and reach understandings that way.
anyway, word dump there, sorry!
Sometimes I pause the podcast to talk about the topics among myself
Every time Gus comes back I realize I only missed Gus in theory.
54:24 cute lil Dan story
Is a joke worth offending people?
(If it's a good one) Abso-F**king-lutely it's worth it.
people can get over a mean joke. a slir with malicious intent on the other hand should either be laughed at and tossed to the side with n9 further thought at best and shunned at worst.
If you get easily offended at mean jokes, don't, as bad as it may be. it's nothing more than a bunch of random sounds that have been given meanings for who knows what reasons.
Bernie, I love the fact that you know the proper toilet paper roll positioning :P
how is battlegrounds different from h1z1?
It's good.
H1Z1 was originally a zombie survival game that later got a separate King of the Kill game using pretty much the same shitty frame work. Battlegrounds is just straight up a King of the Kill like game that runs far better.
Battlegrounds was created by the creator of the battle royal mod on arma 3 and king of the kill in h1z1
Battlegrounds has much more strategy than H1
BEST INTRO EVER!
FINALLY!!!!
Who needs notifications when you have no life and memorized the weekly video schedule
people are too sensitive now days.
The reason for the airport sign is simple: "Controlling the masses through a state of fear." Fear makes you focus, and just like a magician, by directing that focus where you want, you can control what a person sees, feels, etc.
