The one and only incredible Jens Johansson on keyboard. Jens is Swedish born and son to the legendary jazz pianist Jan Johansson and brother to the drummer Anders Johansson. Jens and Anders was in Yngwie Malmsteen's first setting of Rising Force after leaving Sweden.
Jens is a fenomenal keyboard player and composer.

I am so glad you're already back with more Stratovarius! They don't always do epic-length songs, but they dot their history and they are always excellent.
This is the title track of their 13th album, released in 2011, 14 years after Visions which you heard before. This is after Timo Tolkki left and Matias Kupiainen replaced him as lead guitarist. This is the second album after that big change, and I love the fresh feeling of the new albums, and Kupiainen is absolutely terrific.
By this time Lauri Porra was on bass, and this was the last album to feature Jörg Michael on drums, who you rightfully raved about on Visions. He left amicably for personal reasons after this album, and even received a small "Farewell Jörg" tour in Finland. Rolf Pilve took over after this, as a minor correction.
My favorite Stratovarius song? Very hard to say because there's so many good ones which I'm sure people will request, but I'm very partial to a deep-cut from their 1994 3rd album, Dreamspace, before Kotipelto's time (Tolkki was on vocals too at that time, and he was really pretty good), called We are the Future. Strong classical influence on that one.
Matias Kupiainen may be the best thing that happened to Stratovarius, I remember when they dropped this album I was thinking it was going to be an okay album like the previous one before Elysium but holy shit did they blow my mind with Elysium, what a way to end the album! Unfortunately I don’t think they ever played this song live.
Try Event Horizon from this album too , that song is an insane power metal gem.

Jens was keyboardist for Yngwie Malmsteen from his first album through Trial By Fire : Live, I believe. Please listen to Yngwie's first albums.

As an old Nightwish fan I get how fans miss the old band members, but let's face it, Matias Kupiainen is way better player than Tolkki. Tolkki was better composer IMO, but Matias plays everything with such ease at live, and he is fine composer too. And Lauri Porra is one of the best bassists. Reminds me of Cliff Burton, even looks like him...might be intentional 😅 I think you would love "Rhapsody Of Fire" too. I'm not too familiar with their catalogue, but my favorite song from them is "Gargoyles, Angels of Darkness".
And I don't know if they have played this song at live, but I love their Loud Park 2013 (remastered) and Tampere 2012 shows.

@@kresomag Tolkki is a great player, but he was usually bit sloppy and lazy at live. Matias never does that.

@@ricardoespinillo8732 he was sloppy at live. I played guitar for years, and even that I wasn't anywhere near Tolkki's level, I can still see the difference. Matias is way better.
