The original Scorponok was one of my favorite Transformers as a kid. I love just how well they have captured the same appearance yet updated and improved this toy. Love the enthusiasm Michael has for this toy, takes me back!
I saw one of these at Target. Didn't have the funds at the time. By next week, when I scraped the cash together, I went back to that same Target, and it was gone! Good Lord, was I disappointed!
Having the G1 Scorponok being the Spud Webb to G1 Fort Max being Shaq was much like having G1 Blaster completely tower over G1 Soundwave. It "was" really hard to have them be arch-rivals to the other when one was clearly much much taller.
I think the Scorponok figure being slightly shorter than Fortress works in his favour because he’s more well portioned and briefer in a lot of areas. Like Trypticon, it’s the mass and width that makes him much larger than his opponent who’s simply is just tall. I think it is both the Metroplex buck and Cerebrous that are a little too big.
It was cool in the 80s man. Remember pulling him out of the Styrofoam packaging for the first time and repeatedly transforming him through his three modes. Watching the power scale roll up when you popped Zarak on him. Watching his legs clatter up and down when we rolled him across the floor. Yeah man...he was cool!
I was a huge Transformers fan from about 1985 up until the Bay movies began. I don't collect toys but still casually observe what comes out. I'm rarely impressed by a new toy that comes out but this Scorponok is pretty cool.
I love the vid. In city mode you can also fold up scorpion legs in the gap where they store in robot mode and use them as sort of a shredder or just claws to trap other transformers.
Scorponok is sight to behold. Pictures and videos are great but you can't truly appreciate him until you see him with your own eyes. $159 could've easily been $250 and I would've paid it, it's that awesome.
It really depends if you want to talk and have him as just Lord Zarack who was a Nebulan from G1 Rebirth which really did a large mass shifting to be the head in robot mode OR Zarack from the Japanese Headmasters show which did not air Rebirth and was just a large robot like Cerebros and would transform in Scorponic. I do not remember is he is from Planet Head Master as the Autobots, as I forgot about this from that animated show. Great review though and yes agree this finally matches up to G1 Fortress Maximus 👍
Simply awesome!!! That is one heck of a Transformer! Looks great, colors look cool, and the size. I think it's cool that he's just that much shorter than Metroplex, heroes usually stand taller than the villains. Plus it makes him look a bit like the underdog. Great review Mr Mercy!!! NERDMASTE'!!!!
I brought the Seige Jetfire yesterday and my kids are playing with it amazed how big it is. I told them come here and watch this. A few years ago when I wasn't a toy guy I took my kids to a toy store and saw the Tripticon and thought no way I'm paying that. Five to six years later I'm looking at getting this guy.
Mike, I know you were super pumped to get this one and I am glad you were able good brother!👍😁. He looks AWESOME! Love the size, the color and the overall look of this one.👍
Love your videos!!! Please keep it up!! You have helped me through some hard times. Listening to your stuff, reminds me of my childhood so much. I’m 42 and still have original 84 poster plus toys, lunch boxes, thermoses. Thank you again!
The Scorpion legs can fold into the place where you kept the head in base mode and if you want to,you can just transform the head and display him as zarak and then you can hide the legs and you don't have to leave the head aside.
I LOVE IT!! The mid-level "Cerebros" head is the coolest thing ever!!! I wanted that when I was a kid. In the Japanese Headmasters series, Zarak is the size of Galvatron, so this brilliantly explains that. My God. I'm in love. So cool!!!! The Cerebros should be named Mega-Zarak. It's not a new character, it's just a robot body for Zarak to fit in with his new allies, the Decepticons!!!
To be fair, Fortress was bigger than Scorponok on both the g1 cartoon and headmasters anime.About the missing parts, I can see Perfect effect repainting their Fortress gun and making the extra shoulder guns and bigger shield, maybe even the missing base mode bits, nice review!
Been wanting this since the first reveal of the pototype head. Scorponok is a very impressive figure. My only gripe is thst the visor on the head should be translucent to show the detailed eyes underneath. Otherwise, a great addition to the collection.
My wish list for third company upgrade kit includes: 2 - 4 more of those shoulder cannons 1 - 3 more sets of the effects parts A gun that can become an extension for the stringer. And optionally, a spear, since the spear that fast track turns into is total garbage.
I really started getting back into the transformers this year especially with all the siege in the earthrise stuff it's just really amazing and the new show was just awesome but this scorpinoc just brings me back to being a kid I didn't have one but my friend did and that thing was just awesome he was a spoiled friend he had all the great stuff
Your shipping review of Big Bad Toy store left out an important part. When I bought it today it was about $150 less than it was on Amazon and Walmart. Awesome store and always worth the time to check out their prices.
Mr. Mercy! I dunno if you know this but that decoder play feature is part of a bigger map that each earthrise figure comes with! The lines next to the set of "the ark, nemesis, quintesson, etc" are meant to be a key of their paths on the map.
My favorite transformer as a kid was always Soundwave mostly because of his cassette compadres and because mine was a 1 to 1 scale of a cassette player but I always wanted all the titan class robots because of how giant they were and how they are like play sets for transformers that are transformers, and I never was and still am not able to afford it so I'm loving the reviews, it's fun to imagine having the toys I've never been able to get
Don't know if you've heard, but some images leaked online for a titan class ark. No one knows if it'll transform into something, but it's cool that we will finally get an ark playset.
I had collected three titan class figures from the War For Cybertron trilogy: 1. Siege Omega Supreme (2019) 2. Earthrise Scorponok (2020 - we are under quarantine at that time!) 3. Kingdom Ark (2021) I want to try and compare Earthrise Scorponok next to Titans Return Fortress Maximus just like in the 1987 Sunbow G1 cartoon final episode. Scorponok only spoke one line: "NOW AUTOBOT... DIE!!!" It's quite a memorable experience.
EPIC REVIEW MICHAEL MERCY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D Scorponok has the same blast effects that were sold with Siege Jetfire. :D I like to combine the blast effects and attach them to Scorponok's stinger in scorpion mode. :D Thank you for this fantastic video, keep on being amazing, Double Thumbs Up. ;D
Hi Michael, excellent video and don't worry at all about the scales because you think that the Scorponok g1 toy was already smaller than the Fortress g1 and apart from that in the cartoon Scorponok appears first and then Spike creates Fortress to confront him and incidentally made it more gigantic. So everything is fine. greetings, thank you.😉
His hand looks as big as your own hand. Wow! I wonder if he could hold G1 Megatron in gun mode. I also think someone out there would do a stop motion video where he transforms another toy.
'Puh-Prime...? Did...did...kuuu...I do...Good?' 'Yes, old friend...you did Good...' This gargantuan toy certainly looks like it does justice to the original Lord Zarak/Scorponok who had one of the most fascinating character arcs in all of the Marvel G1 comics, going from Zarak's beginnings as a misguided Nebulan patriot being corrupted by the sheer bloodthirsty power that he gained through merging with Scorponok, until finally his underlying inferiority complex due to being, at heart, just a puny Fleshling underneath it all would ultimately drive him to what I still say is one of the most touching deaths in all of Transformers fiction to date, and certainly the most heroic Decepticon death of all time...and what's more, a rare Marvel G1 death in that it took place with nary a cosmically-powered Starscream in sight, yes?! (In fact, I brought a very nifty piece of artwork based upon Marvel Scorponok's final moments drawn by artist John-Paul Bove at a convention here in the UK a couple of years back, and I highly recommend it - click bove.bigcartel.com/product/on-the-edge-of-extinction-poster to see it for yourselves, yes?) PS: One of my favourite G1 Scorponok moments apart from his epic death might be his appearance in 'Aspects of Evil', where his sheer cunning puts the Autobots in a classic no-win situation (see tfwiki.net/wiki/Aspects_of_Evil! for more...).
He really is a cool toy, he's so big that I can shake it's hand like I shake a businessman's hand!! Also, the little butt plates can clip into place in base mode, giving him a flat surface.
Awesome Video!!! This an amazing figure and I'm glad you reviewed it! Just as a heads up, Fasttrack is coming out at retail with Earthrise wave 3 (in October) and he can Transfrom from Robot, to Buggie (that mini Zarack can ride) to spear for Scorponok.
Hey Mike, at the 58:00 mark it hit me maybe those horns of Zarak's new body aren't meant to used underhanded, as if they were bladed upswinging weapons since they hold better that way
I hear that the new Fasttrack toy from Earthrise can transform into a spear for Scorpinok, and said spear is modeled after Black Zarak’s spear as well.
What is that sculpted orange ground you have him on? It looks like some kind of modular display floor or something. If you mention it in the video, I apologize, I 'm just now starting it, and it will probably take me a few sittings to finish.
I got titans return trypticon last year for $50 not regreting it ever!! Btw if you have an "ollies bargan outlet" check during christmas they get tons of great transformers mostly unwanted ss but nevertheless that is where i found trypticon.
The original Scorponok was one of my favorite Transformers as a kid. I love just how well they have captured the same appearance yet updated and improved this toy. Love the enthusiasm Michael has for this toy, takes me back!

I like that the neck guard doesn't interfere with articulation, because the head is articulated below where it plugs in. very nice bit of engineering.
Having the G1 Scorponok being the Spud Webb to G1 Fort Max being Shaq
was much like having G1 Blaster completely tower over G1 Soundwave.
It "was" really hard to have them be arch-rivals to the other when one was clearly much much taller.
"Maybe give him a mask so he can go shopping" lol
came here to say this
Transformers now come prepared for 2020.
I had the original when I was a kid. Wish my toy was this cool back in the 80's

Outstanding review. Plus, the bumpers before the adds make the review more enjoyable. Well done
I was not expecting this to be an hour and a half long, but it's a welcome surprise.
I loved this review and unboxing. I had the original back in 87 and you brought back fond memories. I may have to buy this version now.
It’s wonderful to have one of the greatest Decepticons ever written in updated form.
I love the vid. In city mode you can also fold up scorpion legs in the gap where they store in robot mode and use them as sort of a shredder or just claws to trap other transformers.
You got me at that Sparta kick! Brilliant! Mine’s on pre-order, looking forward to it.
Good to see you get him. It was funny seeing you hold his head in your hand and how they're almost the same size. Hes absolutely massive.
Scorponok is sight to behold. Pictures and videos are great but you can't truly appreciate him until you see him with your own eyes. $159 could've easily been $250 and I would've paid it, it's that awesome.
This didn’t feel like an hour and a half to be honest, stellar review mate

I am definitely going to have to pick this G1 Earthrise Scorponok! Thank you for reviewing this, Michael!

@@MichaelMercy You as well Sir!

I know you were super pumped to get this one and I am glad you were able good brother!👍😁. He looks AWESOME! Love the size, the color and the overall look of this one.👍
Thanks Bill! Well worth the wait. 😁
We could say this every week but it seems appropriate this week. Really appreciate the time and effort you put into these Michael.
Thank you Geraint! 🙏
From the front with the horns on big zarak back They look like an orange cape I also personally call the big zarak omega zarak
Really appreciate the detailed G1 comparisons! Most people do a quick size comparison and that's all!
Love your videos!!! Please keep it up!! You have helped me through some hard times. Listening to your stuff, reminds me of my childhood so much. I’m 42 and still have original 84 poster plus toys, lunch boxes, thermoses. Thank you again!
Thanks, happy to hear that. Take care. 🤝
Insane articulation and pose ability for a bot this size. Great review!
Thanks!
The Scorpion legs can fold into the place where you kept the head in base mode and if you want to,you can just transform the head and display him as zarak and then you can hide the legs and you don't have to leave the head aside.
The 80s and 90s were so iconic who would want to grow up and leave all the greatness of the 80s and 90s behind ?
I have had my Scorponok for 3 years and never noticed the feet fold out
🤣🤣🤣
Easy step to miss.
Incredible Review, great piece. I was looking at the blast effects, and maybe you can plug them in each other to make a big blast.
Thanks! Yup they can be combined like Fanstoys Galvatron's "blaster blossom."
To be fair, Fortress was bigger than Scorponok on both the g1 cartoon and headmasters anime.About the missing parts, I can see Perfect effect repainting their Fortress gun and making the extra shoulder guns and bigger shield, maybe even the missing base mode bits, nice review!
Michael when you first took scorponok out of the box I had a flashback to the 70s of opening a shogun warrior!
Been wanting this since the first reveal of the pototype head. Scorponok is a very impressive figure. My only gripe is thst the visor on the head should be translucent to show the detailed eyes underneath. Otherwise, a great addition to the collection.

Incredible figure, hope to get one soon
One of the best made modern titan, imo. Especially the zarak version.
Awesome video, Michael Mercy that’s the video I’ve requested to you because you have Fortress Maximus and Metroplex
Mr. Mercy! I dunno if you know this but that decoder play feature is part of a bigger map that each earthrise figure comes with! The lines next to the set of "the ark, nemesis, quintesson, etc" are meant to be a key of their paths on the map.
Magnificent and impressive figure ! Congratulations for the acquisition my friend!
Thanks Hector! Have an awesome weekend good brother!
@@MichaelMercy same wish for you my good friend!
Mike,
I caved brother!😂😂😂. This one came back up for preorder on BBTS and I ordered one.😁
My favorite transformer as a kid was always Soundwave mostly because of his cassette compadres and because mine was a 1 to 1 scale of a cassette player but I always wanted all the titan class robots because of how giant they were and how they are like play sets for transformers that are transformers, and I never was and still am not able to afford it so I'm loving the reviews, it's fun to imagine having the toys I've never been able to get
He arrived with skylynx from BBTS for me about a month ago. Was fun messing with them both.
I found three of these at a Target and the boxes were all perfect.
Don't know if you've heard, but some images leaked online for a titan class ark. No one knows if it'll transform into something, but it's cool that we will finally get an ark playset.
Really? That’s awesome!
Fasttrack is a wave 3 deluxe that turns into tons of weapons main one being a spear.
I think you should do a review on g1 fortress Maximus
My friend had Scorponok. Man i remeber being very envious. Then i got that Autobot battelbase and was like booyah!
I had collected three titan class figures from the War For Cybertron trilogy: 1. Siege Omega Supreme (2019) 2. Earthrise Scorponok (2020 - we are under quarantine at that time!) 3. Scorponok doing the splits is the most cursed thing and yet it’s also very blessed.
lol
Noice love this vid also wired that there is three scorpinok g1 beast wars and movie
Thats just hoe transformers is there's multiple versions and versions within versions of each character
you forgot Superlink/Energon
And Robots in Disguise
This is so awesome, man!!! WOW!! I love it!!!!!!

When ever I think of scorpinock from transformers I usually think of beast wars scorpinock first but then I think of this guy afterwards
I also used a second Brunt to make claws in the base mode like the G1
Unfinished business ✔️
Great transformers✔️
Fantastic review✔️✔️✔️
Great review Michael 😁
Thanks!
GOOD LORD!!!! That thing's a beast! G i g a n t i c thanks for turning me on to BBTS. Fantastic toys store. Great video too!
Just curious when will history of trsnsformers 1987 edition be released?

I been wanting to get this Transformer and Constructicon since i was a kid where would I be able to get them?
Bigbadtoystore.com. Check out their website and other websites too.
Another awesome review.
They've already released Fastrack for pre order on Hasbro Pulse. They did a really nice job. Keep it up Michael! Love your channel. Nerdmaste!
Thanks Dustin! 🙏
I added the Target Masters/ Battle masters guns to give him fire power in base mode LOL
In my opinion the most impressive thing about this figure is that his hands are the size of human hands. Its insane.
what a time to be alive
What is that sculpted orange ground you have him on? It looks like some kind of modular display floor or something. If you mention it in the video, I apologize, I 'm just now starting it, and it will probably take me a few sittings to finish.
Your g1 skorponok looks brand new
Did you say blast effects? I don't think mine came with any.
I saw the time for the video. Me this is going to be great
What version of Gold Bug was that? It looked like the Classics Mode for Bumblebee. Where can I find one of those?
Art Feather. Only on Ebay now. They came out years ago.
I got titans return trypticon last year for $50 not regreting it ever!! Btw if you have an "ollies bargan outlet" check during christmas they get tons of great transformers mostly unwanted ss but nevertheless that is where i found trypticon.
hey micheal, fasttarck is already in the earthrise line and is on pre order at big bad toy store
Awesome!
“LEFT CHEEK! LEFT CHEEK!”
Oh wait, wrong Scorponok.
Do you have the city bots for him
I love the sound effects lol
Man I really want this guy now!
We are going to need a bigger autbot around here
Epic! The toy and the review!
Thanks!
Michael you gotta get Earthrise Optimus it is the BEST Optimus toy i think
What Goldbug figure is that?
