This just brings nostalgia because Jazz was my first G1 transformers toy, unfortunately, I lost him but I remember bringing him almost everywhere. Thank you for showing one of the best autobots

Jazz was one of a handful of season 1 Autobots that survived the deception purge that occurred during the 1986 The Transformers: The Movie. So many autobot heroes went too soon during that movie, including Optimus Prime.........but, in the end, Unicron was crushed, the Cybertronian wars came to an end, and Rodimus Prime was now the new Autobot leader, entering into season 3.
Nostalgia of the 80s, really calming to know that Transformers can be therapeutic, Good work, Michael!!

Hemi204 yes , the animated movie is also filled with a distinguished cast as well . Google it you’d be surprised who’s in it .
Jazz is one of the few characters who had significant screen time before, during, and after the animated movie. (Not counting characters who were reformatted.)
Jazz aka Scatman Crouthers was one of my all-time favorite G1 Autobots! Thank you so much for the video and the background music which was a backbone of the character! I love your reviews, Michael!

Jazz was one of my favorite Autobot. Mainly for his overall personality and appearance. I never found figures that small to drive the Autobots. I always loved the Autobots car modes at times more than robot modes. The size comparisons were a nice touch for this review.
Jazz was one of my childhood favorites along with Optimus and Arcee
This is hitting me in the Nostalgia Gut so hard. Back when I had these toys it was awesome converting them from alt mode to robot mode over and over. I wish I could bring my childhood back one Transformer at a time.

I remember having this toy as a kid. Maybe the reissue is different, but the rocket launcher pegs are supposed to plug into the open space on his back and has just enough room to clear the shoulder beside his head.
Jazz was always my favorite character on the show, but I never had any Transformer figures growing up (just Go Bots). I recently decided to start collecting other lines besides GI Joe, so I plan on finally getting one some time in the near future. Thanks for the transformation tips.

I bought an original g1 jazz with no stickers and pretty yellowed for 25 bucks, it only had the shoulder cannon, i had to piece together the other parts life gun, missiles, box, manual and stickers

I got Jazz through a mail order with cereal box tops or something. He came in the mail, in a small plain brown box and his stickers were different. I bet he would be worth something if I didn’t give him away.
I got a hold of a reissue jazz today. Had a bit of a tough time transforming him. Thankfully I didn’t break anything but he was kinda complicated. I still love him though.

Another great review! Jazz was my first Transformer I received Christmas Eve way back then in '84. Got Skywarp the next day. Anytime I think of Martini Porsche I think of Jazz since he is what brought those cars to my attention of being existant in the 1st place. Seems all the original (USA) Transformers had wimpy missile launchers whereas the knockoffs had much more powerful ones that actually shot some distance. I took Jazz to school and a kid broke the windshield part you talked about in the review.
The early Transformers had full color instructions and just seemed better with more die cast and chrome parts then the later ones that were all plastic. Although we used to make jokes about "Transformer chrome" which was prone to tarnishing/wearing off. Prime's chrome legs and smoke stacks turned blue for example.
Grimlock and Megatron are the only two I remember who didn't have the cheap chrome that wore off easily. There may be more but I don't remember. It's been 35 years now, hahaha
i kind of have this guy... a few days ago at a flea market i found a g2 jazz for 5 bucks and i brought him home and cleaned him up and he is missing his doors and one of the covers for the fin bit otherwise in relatively good shape so i may get a g1 kazz with a busted canopy and take the doors and cover of that one (i have seen a jazz like that before and didnt grab it 😥 didnt know id need it)
I liked jazz alot the fact his bumper is his chest freaked me out as a kid awesome look
Mr. Mercy, clearly the Porsche wouldn't have the speed one would expect from a car of that calibre being weighed down by all that sound equipment. Those woofers must weigh a ton! Another excellent video, sir. Thank you.
Jazz is one of my favorite transformers because he was my first transformer though it was a 2007 jazz and only had the head and hands I still liked him

The Martini logo most likely wasn't used because it's the logo for Martini & Rossi distillery in Italy. Jazz was my 2nd favorite Autobot, after Hound, and before Smoke Screen. I had a specially affinity for him due to him being a slant nose 911/930, just watching this review brings me back, I remember daydreaming about one of those 930's while starring at a poster of one up on my wall in my room. Just picked me up a commemorative series for a good score on eBay. Sadly his weapons aren’t chromed but I already found me a good set to buy if I’m interested. Definitely excited. Jazz is just too cool to skip out on, especially one with such legendary status.

Got Jazz for Christmas '84. Not the easiest to transform, and eventually a "friend" broke the hood off leaving just the little bit where his head was. Still worked ok in robot mode, but annoying for sure.
Next one on my list of 'transformers to buy' but finding an affordable yet good looking figure might be a problem. Good video.
Jazz is my favourite Transformer from the Marvel UK comic. The version of Jazz I have is the 'Commemorative Series III' one from eBay but the gun was missing.

If I ever had one as a (nerdy) kid in the 80s, I would’ve been extra careful with it. I also would’ve read the instructions and transform it until I can memorize it without the instructions. Same thing goes with other 80s transformers toys.

Jazz is the first g1 reissue I got. One of top g1 characters. (I'm to young to for real g1.)

Jazz was my 3rd favorite Autobots next to Optimus Prime Bumblebee
After ~35years i learn you can slide those leg parts to the side to lock the legs.. found my old toy but it was way to stuck to not break it.
They actually had to remold the the head on Jazz due to the original mold slowly degrading.

Jazz had some really cool engineering for the time, some resourceful stuff. Many of the G1s did of course.
One thing I really love on Jazz is his Diaclone commercial, like seriously give it a look and it just has the COOLEST music, fitting for the Diaclone that would end up being Jazz
Diaclone goodness 🤤 I never got one as a kid but I had some Robostrux and they had those little gold pilots and use have them as drivers for my Transformers 😂 they were smaller but fit good

But the G1 animated series dropped the ball, where most people would've thought that Ironhide or Jazz was 2nd in command. lol.

G1 cars were pieces of art. My third party Jazz is the Generation Toys J4zz. It is based on the IDW version of the character, but they used a modern day Porsche. Thanks for the review sir!

When I was a kid in 1984 Jazz was the only Transformer I had.I played with him so much that I broke his doors and roof which got lost.To make him complete I would make cardboard doors and roof and color them and tape them to him.
I had the same issue when I was a kid. I remember I had soundwave and broke his plastic eject door. I use to fix it by using a tic tac container. It was almost the same size . I would cut it to size and take it there.

BTW that 'grin' on the original re-issue? That wasn't intended, that's mould degradation from being printed so much. That's why the Encore face is better - they completely re-did the face on that one.

I had a complete Predaking that I traded for jazz.
No regrets.
The first G1 car I bought was Jazz. But I had to rebuy him in 1986 because the original toy broke. However, I took off the doors from the broken toy and placed it on the 1986 toy. That's because the 1984 doors were different from the 1986 door.s
