Korir's final kick was outstandingly Kenyan .I cherish watching men and women that have made Kenya proud 👏.

Brian Diemer an athlete to truly be respected. He seems to have been a humble guy who let his racing and deeds speak for themselves.

The person who put this video up was his team mate and Henry Marsh was a legend for BYU so his followers want to see all his races because they hear about his race tactic of coming from behind. He held the BYU record a long time.

Korir is probably the best steeplechase technician to come out of Kenya.

I was there. Dude jumped out of the stands and joined the race. Security had a hard time catching him. When they finally did he broke free and continued to run around and was finally caught. Crowd was cheering him on. Heard after he was a college student from Berkeley. Ultimate train dodge!

He did not go to Berkeley, he was a bay area cab driver

Well, in a way he did go to Cal, Berkley, to pick up & drop off his fares.

this race was on the same day as the decker/budd race (women 3000m) - in fact i think it immediately followed it - so first that and then the interloper from the crowd who ran onto the track and jumped over some of the fences at 1:00 here - so a memorable olympic day!

With Marsh barely missing a bronze medal, I wonder if Marsh constantly wishes he'd changed his "tactic". Run from the rear, you take a gamble.

The interloper, given the circumstances, had a reasonably good water jump. Just saying.

Because Doug Padilla was his team mate and Henry Marsh was a legend for BYU so his followers want to see all his races because they hear about his race tactic of coming from behind. He held the BYU record a long time.

Gutsy race by Marsh. He left it all out there. Similar effort to Pre in 1972.

Could the commentators be more biased. Barely mention anyone else in the race until about a lap and a half to go, just Marsh, Marsh, Marsh

Yeah, it's hard to imagine why US broadcasters would focus on US athletes for their US audience.

    • @phillylifer

I remember thinking the same thing in 83. They still do this, focus on one maybe two and don't bother with the others. Lame

Julius Korir shows a glimpse of the Kenyan dominance just around the corner and Henry Marsh - his own worst enemy - blows another chance with his usual barmy tactics.

@@runcaz7802 As in silly - going straight to the back and giving himself too much ground to make up on the last lap. It was was a feature of Marsh's career.
