Oh WOW, that's a really nice enclosure! You really went extra there with the activated carbon and live plant cultures. If you're looking for small, easy-fix improvement suggestions - measure 1~2cm down from the top of that access door and make another horizontal cut so you can glue it to the front and ceiling of the plastic box. Your jumper's natural instinct is to build their hidey-hammock on the roof of the terrarium, and if they build right up against the access door as it is right now, you'll destroy their hard work every time you open it for feeding and misting. =( I know it's temporary housing until they grow bigger, and they'll make a new hammock each time you move them to a bigger space, but they'll be using that hammock during moulting, which is their most vulnerable time. Gotta keep them boing-boing buddies safe!
Thank you for your feedback! He molted since then and has been moved to an enclosure alot bigger. I’ve considered doing that before but so far, all my spiders have created their webs in the back left corner. Idky (:
Nice work, thats a nice enclosure! The video was relaxing as well. I can't wait for my springtail culture to start populating a bit more. And I'll be getting some dwarf whites soon. Thansk for the extra inspiration!
I used to have a pet Jumping Spider, LULU. She was great. She taught my wife how to do Ballet, the watusi, and the cucaracha in one night, before she died. It was a closed casket. I miss her............... LULU
Hey thank you for the feedback but that is drastically too big for a jumping spider of this size. As someone else commented, when jumping spiders are young, it is best to keep them in smaller enclosures. They arent the best hunters at that age and can lose their prey if the enclosure is too big. If you were talking about hyllus diardis or giganteus, I would agree an 8x8x12 is a good size but for regals, I prefer 6x6x12, or after I’ve had a momma that gave birth, I treat her with something about that size. I keep over 500 jumping spiders. Also like it had been said in the comments and the description. The spider has since been moved.
I’m not sure I’m will answer this question correctly but mostly everything I purchase when it comes to resources, are in large quantities. I purchased the small display case in a pack of six at hobby lobby, the rocks were from outside my house hut I sterilized them. The window screen mesh came off a huge roll of it, and the plants were clippings from plants or from my moss box.
Not really, in all honestly, they spend 90% of the time in their web but in the description I listed it as the spiders temporary enclosure. Since then I have moved him to one about 3x larger
Not for a growing spiderling baby =D Freshly-hatched juvies tend to thrive in smaller, temporary spaces, because it's far easier for them to hunt down their food (the less energy they expend chasing after it is more energy they can spend on growing). Once they've moulted a few times, you'd most definitely move them to a bigger terrarium.
That was nice im.so scared of spiders but im.thinking about getting me one or even try a wild caught one , they do sale jumping spiders at my pet store
Beautiful enclosure but I am pleased that you've since moved the spider to a larger enclosure 😍

Thank you. And of course. I hope all goes well
Nice Idea.
For the Show.
Hope you moved the spider after this into a bigger Home.

Spiders are so delicate and so bautiful ❤
I would make some more holes on the sides and not on the top, Jumping spiders need cross ventilation.
It looks amazing ! But Jumping spiders need cross ventilation and a lot of space since they are very active. 8x8x12 inches to be exact !

🕸🕷
Do you mind sharing some resources for the spiderling and the “ingredients “, especially in such a small quantity? Thx!

Vids like this are dope
This is beautiful
Question:
Isn't the terrarium too small for the spider?🤔

What container was used for this
I bought a pack of six toy car display cases from my local hobby store
@@nesbus1820 wow awesome thanks
Having a little hide at the top would make it a lot better
Looks great for a juvenile Jumping spider but a adult Jumping spider should have much more space to roam around.
