Very good explanation, your video gave me a good understanding 1) How to replace a new cowl (mine is falling to pieces from the sun. 2) BMW is a complicated car to fix anything : )
Hi Grant! Thanks for the shout-out! We love your videos too. Keep them coming. I might need some help from you soon. I've just gotten the M-sport steering... :)
@@NETTNETTCLUBVIDEOs yeah, mine too. I was trying to code my new clockspring and I can’t get Esys to connect. So are you planning to retrofit the DEC switch? I did that about a year ago. I love it.
@@JohnsonMotorsports same here. It can't seems to work after a while. I'm looking at the DEC switch at local scrapyards. Mine ride is a very basic poverty spec :(
@@JohnsonMotorsports yup! I was thinking adding some rtv to that for a little extra hold. Excellent find with the trim though! Mine just started cracking so in a year or two I’ll need it fixed for sure, basically as soon as I see a chunk missing it’s go time!
I tried this. At first it seemed like a great idea, refubishing a plastic piece, for a few euros. But it turned out to be 3 hours of work, and the result is quite bad, because the seal does not sit flush with the windshield (there is like a 5mm gap, between the plastic and the windshield window). It is hard to explain, but the seal should have a bit of a different shape to make a better fit. I've now decided to buy a new piece, which I think will cost about 90€
@@simonsambolec I understand. I will do the same operation too soon. I will buy the same rubber but with doublesided tape,,his is without. Try to make it stick and settle bit by bit with a little help with heatgun
hey grant could u do a video abt stage 1 stage 2 and OEM turbos, my turbo is starting to go, i am at 106k miles and i have a “drive train malfunction maximum drive train output not available”, i’ve checked everything and it ended up being my turbo bearing on the stock turbo
It's good. Would have been better to use a little glue or adhesive to keep it in, I’ve knocked the wether stripping out of its seat before when washing the car.
Any noticable extra wind noise using this? I've noticed also deteriorating rubber on the top strip of my windshield and looking to do that as well. Appreciate the F10 vids!
I'm surprised you didn't treat the wiper arms with the Mothers Back To Black. Not sure it would work on metal vs plastic. NIce work though. Keep up the good work output/ content. I need to do that same operation to my car which I have only owned for a couple of weeks.
Glad to see another video brother!!! Together were stronger!
Yes sir!!!!
finally a good video for this topic. thanks for your time
Glad you liked it!

Glad the video helped!
Thanks for doing these videos. Don’t need to replace mine yet…but glad to see you post, because I am sure I will eventually.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this video I needed to do my 535
Thx bro. Good stuff!
Thanks
Great tutorial Grant! I so need to do this to my F10 :)
Thanks! Yeah, it’s a nice cheap fix.

Sounds good. You’ll love the new wheel.
@@JohnsonMotorsports yeah. I'm just short of a drive mode selector and a proper coding device. My Esys and Ista is acting weird lately.

Excellent video man. This will help me with my e92
Awesome. Glad it helps. My only suggestion would be to add some sort of adhesive so the weatherstripping doesn’t come right off.
@@JohnsonMotorsports just to be sure, add adhesive to the connection between the glass and new trim?
awesome tip!
I need to do my rear window, but haven’t looked into how. At least I know how to do the front when that comes up.
Gotcha, yeah my rear window is good, but I think the window had to be replaced by the previous owner.
I need this on my f30!!!
Thank buddy!!!
Knock it out. My only suggestion would be to add some adhesive to the new trim so that it would stay in place. I will add some soon to mine.
It doesn’t fall out of place by itself, just can get knocked out when I’m cleaning the windshield.
@@JohnsonMotorsports yup! I was thinking adding some rtv to that for a little extra hold. Excellent find with the trim though! Mine just started cracking so in a year or two I’ll need it fixed for sure, basically as soon as I see a chunk missing it’s go time!
I need to do the rubber around the inside door where the seat belt gets slammed into when you shut the door.
Yeah, I need to do that as well.
I couldn’t see the link to the product, am I missing something!!

You bought exactly the same rubber/size as he did?

Sure, I will see what I can come up with.
How’s your trim around the edges where the hood closes? Is this a similar weatherstrip for that? Any chance you’ve replaced yours?
I haven’t replaced mine. I will have to take a look.
I need to get mine replaced
Go for it. It’s a cheap job.
DID IT STOP WATER ? SEALED ETC?
Yes, works great.
Heyhey! Awesome video! I was wondering how your solution was holding up?

now make a video about the rear window seal repair :D pls

Thanks man. No extra wind noise. The only thing I may do differently, is add a little glue to keep the new weatherstripping in place.

I may need to give that a try on the wiper arms.
Will never buy another BMW
