  • In this video, I go over my shoe review of the Altra Via Olympus after 120 miles. I have run in the Altra Via Olympus now for 120 miles and wanted to give a review of what I thought about the shoe.

I started loving this shoe the more is ran in them. I currently have 340+ miles in them and they are still pretty good. They do have some minimal wear and tear on the outsole but still pretty good overall. I'll be using this shoe for my 100km tomorrow and see.🤞

I had the same issue when I first wore them. They hurt my feet after 10 miles. Keep up the great work.

I just bought a pair and I'm taking them back. Just walking around the house I feel the stiffness and it is really surprising because I love the Paradigm 6 and Torin 6. Both have the Ego Max midsole and feel great. I was surprised at how stiff this was given that the stack height is only 3mm more than the P6.
I'll probably get another P6 or wait for the 7. Thanks for the feedback, helped me make my decision to return them.

Stinks they didn’t workout for you either! I’m glad you found the video helpful. I saw the new torin 7 will have a stack height that is now 30mm from 28. That can be a nicely cushioned shoe!

If you are tall, weigh 220 lbs. with size 13 feet, they are good. They are firm in cold weather, they get a little softer after my feet warm them up after 30 minutes. I walk fast, too lazy to try to run. For me, the Olympus 5 is too squishy and wears out fast, but is comfortable.

I’m glad these work for you! Sounds like you found a way that works for you!

My Via Olympus is now at 250 miles. I do agree it's really stiff but only at first and overall I enjoyed running this shoes for my long distance runs. But I hope on it's next iteration if it does, they would improve on that part.

yeah it's a weird pivot from all completely push shoes basically . and the box change too. but the upper is majestic for sure.

Yeah I agree! The upper is great

i think if they threw in ego pro from vanish tempo but just a tad harder, in this form it would be sick. vanish carbon was a bit too soft.

Yeahh it definitely needs to be softer!

Do you think this would be good for walking all day in a hospital or would you recommend a different model?

Do you prefer zero drop shoes? Or you don’t mind if there’s a heel drop? If you prefer zero drop, I think the torin 6 might be a better model. If you don’t mind heel drop, probably a bondi from hoka would be good too

Correct, it’s too firm. I returned and got a pair of Olympus 5 which I like much better.

Yeahh it’s definitely misleading. Glad the Olympus 5 worked out for you!

I've only run twice in mine - but I've found the tendons in the soles of my feet are quite sore - is that normal for a new shoe?

Easily the worst shoe ever made. I returned mine. Altra luckily rebounded with the new Torin and Paradigm.
