Most people tell me it's not necessary but I completely drain, flush and replace the brake fluid every three years irrespective of klms travelled. It's my car and my and others life.
Because the fluid had been so neglected, the bore of the master-cylinder goes rusty where the piston doesn't normally reach. Then you 'do the right thing' by changing the fluid, but during the bleeding process, by pushing the pedal to the floor, you drag the seals across the rusty section of the cylinder and 'hey presto', now they're rooted and you need a new master. Obviously maintaining the fluid is the best solution, but using pressure or vacuum bleeders will avoid exposing the master-cylinder seals to parts of the cylinder they normally wouldn't get to... FYI: For-scan has a service procedure which uses the ABS pump to assist bleeding and flushes out the old fluid in the ABS system. (but it does require the pedal to be 'floored' during the process)
That one person kit looks a good idea, I've always used the old broom on the brake pedal method.

This is great info
What about bleeding the abs unit?
on my ef i had to put an ed booster in to fix the shitty plastic 90s aussie car booster, the fluid was definitely due for a change lol
