I only have a 1GbE line for internet so I’m not affected by this personally. The SFP+ connections are only LAN connections and work correctly @10GbE for me!
I don’t run VMs directly on TrueNAS anymore but you should be able to get a DHCP reservation if your gateway is set up correctly in your TN Network panel. If not you’ll want to check your router to see if you’re having any issues there.

What’re the throughput speeds? I read with IPS turned on it tops out at 3gbps.

Witch NIC did u use?
Used the SolarFlare SFN6122F for the SFP+ connection on the TrueNAS Server
