I like how Richter and Dracula’s conversation is basically the What is a Man speech but coherent.
And richter’s hesitance when Dracula asked him if he had desires shows how he was easily manipulated in SoNT
But the moment I heard "Death to you! The world is not yours to exist in!" I knew it had was still the same old Richter

I always thought that Rondo of Blood had the best boss fights, out of all the linear-style Castlevania games. They were challenging, intense and had a lot of character.
Akumajōu Dracula/Castlevania on Sharo X68000 home computer in Japan same year in 1993, later ported in North America as Castlevania Chronicles on Sony PlayStation in 2000 is also really good, as good as Rondo Of Blood/Akumajōu Dracula X Chi No Rondo, and I'm a sucker for Super Castlevania 4.
But Rondo Of Blood is excellent, definitely top tier.

In case anyone is bad like me and can't get the timing right consistently in the first phase of the final boss: I found it much easier to hit him as soon as he appears and then backflip over the fireballs. 100% effective

El juego se lanza en un sistema que usaba CD y eso hizo que se puediera utilizar una animación aunque algo limitada muy superior ala que se manejaba en otras consolas como snes y mega drive

Just finished the game yesterday. Maria is so broken, lmao. I beat Dracula with her on the first try and only got hit once by a stray fireball in phase 1 and again when he jumped on me in phase 2. Naturally, I wasn't satisfied, so I went straight to the Belmont for a rematch and got destroyed about 25 times.

I just finished the remake, and one thing i noticed is how they slightly changed Richter's personality.
In the original, he is much more easy going and kind.
In the remake, he's much more serious about his mission and his role as a Belmont, they even took off his pose.
Yeah.
The remake made Richter into Simon without Muscles, or Charisma.
Marisa also became someone who is just there.

Never could figure out all of Richter's moves, I just know the fanbase considered him to be the most broken Belmont, even in other games he was in.
in this game all he got was like a nice backflip and Item Crash, SOTN Richter is the broken one if anything.
Also you should see Maria, Double Jump, better speed, makes Axe Armors look like a joke, better firing rate, pretty solid animal friends as subweapons, a Dash option instead of a Backflip...

Its sort of explained in the later games that the castle itself is kind of a pocket dimension that can be reshaped on a whim by Dracula. I mean that's about as much explanation as we get...
Guroga Marduk In this game you travel some distance before you reach the castle, just like in Castlevania 3. However I later games they explain that Castlevania it's is a chaotic entity that changes it's layout and appearance randomly.
