    THIS CHANNEL NEEDS TO RISE UP! Would have needed that 2 days ago when starting with the demo. After spending half a day I finally found where to change controls at all. But the "tap strong" explanation was still helpful, I have been loosing my mind on the separate smash button... my hands just dont want to do it :D

    If your GCC adapter is connected and set up with zadig but isn't being detected by the game, be sure to check if you have any instances of dolphin open. The adapter can only be used by one application at a time, so close dolphin and reboot your game to get it to become recognized.

    Good to know that I can finally play Rivals of Aether II with my Super Smash Flash 2 keyboard settings, which I've used for almost a decade! You have no idea how comfortable its default key binds are once you get used to them and no other platform fighter allowed me to play 1:1 like SSF2… until RoA II kicked in!
    And on top of that, I can have specialized N-Air and N-Special binds like I do in Multiversus too? Take my money, Dan (or until I get a better PC… or RoA II gets to consoles, idk)!!

    Can we get a setting that treats the parry like it was treated in Rivals 1? So, if you set it to L you'd still have the option to Roll or Spotdodge with it so those two options aren't tied to shield only?
    Or, have parry and shield be an adaptive setting as well? Maybe a "Short-hop Press" gives parry, and "Long-jump Press" gives shield?
    The idea of having to press 2 buttons, or, remove shielding from my dedicated button makes it a much more irritating situation.

    • @RivalsTutorials
      @RivalsTutorials  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just to clarify I'm not affiliated with aether studios, so if you'd like to send them feedback consider contacting them directly about this. If you want my own thoughts, I think your first suggestion about roll and spotdodge being not just mapped to shield could work but the short and long press option probably wouldn't since it mess with options that require you to flash shield quickly on and off (e.g. shield stopping). Sorry I couldn't be of more help

      In terms of the face buttons, i actually quite like the default xbox layout. It can be a bit jarring if you’ve only ever played smash but I think it suits the game well. If you are asking about L4 and R4 buttons, i can’t say what’s optimal since I don’t have those buttons on my controller, but I would suggest experimenting and seeing what you like. If you really don’t want to think about it, i’d try adding jump to both inputs to make out of shield options like wavedash oos easier. Hope this helps!

      Currently, it seems like you are unable to use mouse inputs for controls in the game. Not sure if this will be added since it might be difficult for tournament organizers to manage keyboard and mouse players for their set ups. Still, you can send feedback to the team at aether studios and see what they think. Otherwise, if you’re looking for better keyboard only controls, I’d look for those specifically online. Alternatively, you may want to look up “box” style controllers and try to mimic those inputs on a keyboard. Hope this helps!

      “We're planning to make it so you can bind things to mouse buttons, but at the moment you need an external program to do it (or maybe Steam controller settings? not sure if that works). If you rebind your mouse buttons as random keyboard keys with an external program, you can then bind those keyboard keys to actions and your mouse buttons will work in-game.”

      Try looking in the Steam input settings. Bind a niche button you never press to Shorthop and assign a double tap to your Fullhop button to the first button.
      Let's say, bind (ZL] to Shorthop and your Fullhop is (X). In Steam input settings, bind (ZL] to a secondary Double Tap setting in your (X) button. Make sure the ms time span is short enough so your (X) command is still intact.

      @RivalsTutorials  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't own a steam deck so I'm not super familiar with how it works. Have you ever run slippi/dolphin on it? The way the native detection works with rivals is that it requires you to use a tool called zadig to update the adapters drivers. Not sure what the process is like on linux. You may find better help by asking around in the rivals discord.

    • @RivalsTutorials

    How do you have the gamecube's controller layout buttons on steam?
    I'm using the hori smash bros gamepad but the buttons only shows as a pro controller input

    • @RivalsTutorials
      @RivalsTutorials  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Gamecube glyphs are automatically assigned when you use a gamecube controller plugged in via an adapter set to wii u mode. While your hori pad has the form factor and layout of a gcc, its internals are more similar to a pro con which is why it is being recognized as such. Currently I am unaware of a way to force gamecube glyphs for other controllers, so you may be out of luck on that front. However, the control should work without issue, you may have to spend some more time remapping everything to be correct, but otherwise the issue should just be cosmetic.

      I think the default layout works pretty well, it's basically the same as the default xbox layout. If you want something more similar to smash, you could do something like circle = attack, cross = special, triangle = jump and square = strong. Ultimately, What makes a control layout good or not is if you feel comfortable using it, so do whatever makes playing the game most fun for you

    Any chance a Hit box works? (A normal hitbox for SF6)

    • @RivalsTutorials
      @RivalsTutorials  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends on what you mean. I'm assuming a hitbox works like a regular usb controller so it should be recognized by the game and be able to be used like any other controller. However, my understanding is that plat fighter boxes tend to have a lot more inputs compared to boxes for regular 2d/3d titles (They use the extra buttons for c-stick aerials + movement modifiers), these inputs aren't necessary to play but will put you at a bit of disadvantage if you don't have them, so you may want to consider using a regular controller or even a keyboard if you plan on taking the game super seriously. if you just plan on messing around with your friends, the controller should work fine! (The hit boxes i've seen have at least 12 buttons and the default keyboard controls map 12 keys for inputs)

    Is it possible at all to make a specific buttom for Dash Attacks and make it so that when you have a bind for it you will never get a Dash Attack from running? I know Run Mod. exists but you still have to go back to Neutral if you want to use that. It's just coming from other games it feels really bad to move around and try to attack since I always get a Dash Attack.
    Edit: Could also make Run Mod. be applied while running?

      I understand what you mean, unfortunately there doesn't currently seem to be an option for this. I'm not actually a part of the dev team so I can't do anything about this but it sounds to me like a good suggestion. I would say before you get your hopes up that it at least seems in part to be a deliberate design decision to have tilts not be easily accessible from run, but I do think it can be a bit too difficult to do tilts even while standing in place. If you want an option that may help alleviate this issue, I would take a look at your stick sensitivities and see if changing them helps. I haven't found a set up that im super confortable with yet so I can't really give any advice, but i'd say messing around with them would be your best bet. Let me know what ends up working for you.
