What are the other terminals for? How do you check the primary circuit? Why did you remove the mag to check the secondary circuit? So many questions...
A very technical video . Can I take it that removing the spark plug and earthing it to engine block is not a great way to test the ignition coil . I have a Stihl sh 86 that has a spark at plug and only fires a short moment . The coil is only 12 months old . I would be interested in your thoughts .

No, pull the coil wire and meter between plug wire and coil laminated pick up. Remove the shut down wires and check again. The reading shouldn’t change. A short to ground shutdown switch can look like a bad coil.

Rob Yokom As someone mentioned, there is a primary coil test too not just secondary. Check from the laminated plates to the small wire terminal. If checks good, probably a fuel or compression problem.

Back in the days of Muscle cars most air gaps on points & this style coil was usually just set using a match book or business card. Many points even had notes on back saying use the box/package to set air gap. Most mechs used a card because it worked. Cards easier than using a feeler gauge in many cases because they flex better. Between 8-12k is the actual setting on these small Stihl units. Check the thickness of an average business card or match book you'll see why they always used them. My bil owned a full service shell station over 30yrs back then & they all carried a small card in their front shirt pocket for that reason. It was very common...Its not rocket science after all & why it can be set at 8k, 9k,10,11k,12k or just there abouts & run perfectly fine. That's a big span if you think about it. In fact the OEM Stihl coil I just removed was set at 1k maybe 2k at the most straight from the factory. Idk how it's coil lasted 23yrs set that way but it did. Not my trimmer so idk how hard it was to start but it had to effect it neg some how? Stihl wasn't even close to spec & I know it's never been apart before today, he bought it brand new. Peace

Do you need to disconnect the coil to check the impedance?

WHAT IS THE AIR GAP ?
The gap between the flywheel and the coil legs (not the proper name im sure), use a business card or feeler guage of 13 thousandths.

We called it a feeler gauge
0.010 inch air gap use brass shim.
How did you determine air gap?
Ive done this befote on a mower, but i just used a credit card...

I think you forgot to test between the spade terminal and ground. There should be a lower resistance. That’s where mine failed
