Hi Den…Just caught-up with your 3 day match. Twenty six hour round trip, 43 degrees, cormorant, broken kit, ants and speedboat (have I missed anything?)…but you still won!! Congratulations…I admire your fortitude!
Congratulations Den! You set a cracking pace. Pity about the cormorant and the boaties. Hopefully, they'll get rid of the lobotomy requirement for a boat license soon. 😁👍👍
Thanks John. I have to admit, I was quite impressed by the speed that jet boat which went through. Of course, it didn't do anything for the environment.😁😁👍👍
Well done Den,bless you for the sneeze at the end and hope you can replace your pole sections, dam cormorant hate em. Also good to see another Dens video.Tight line’s congratulations 🥂🎣
Well ! what can I say only congratulations Den.3great days and then the 3rd day,Cormorants, smashed top kit and the ants.but still won the section.Awesome mate, proud of you.Your the MAN.🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🍺🍺😁😁
Thanks mate. I'm glad you're enjoying them. It takes a long time to do the editing for 18 hours of fishing, so its nice to know that other anglers appreciate the effort.
Congratulations Den. A great video which I really enjoyed watching. I used to fish with a bloke who told me he once had a goosander take a deadbait off the bottom of a Scottish loch while pike fishing, now I've actually seen a bloke have a cormorant take a bit of sweetcorn (or maybe the fish that ate the sweetcorn) 😅
Well done winning the match Den. I thoroughly enjoy your VLOGs watching you in the warm weather while we freeze our bits off back here in Blighty. Much better than trotting with bread flake as I was yesterday on the river Ivel for just 3 small chub.. 😂
What a well deserved result Den, so pleased for you mate and under very trying circumstances. I always expect a speed boat or two in your swims but this trip was just crazy, giant lizards, Cormorants, biting Ants, the heat, waves from the waterskiing and getting whipped from the elastic …. Your made of strong stuff mate 👍
Thanks Geoff. On day one, there were so many speedboats it was ridiculous. As for all the other stuff, I thought I was probably just whining a bit too much mate.🤣🤣 At least the lizard just walked on past me and left my groundbait alone.
Well done on the win - and especially with the bits of bad luck on the final day. I'm not sure what's the worst - 40 odd degrees or our recent snow/sleet/freezing wind? Solid wi' fish! Reminds me of how it used to be in Ireland. We get Mallard ducks and rats - you get cormorants on the hook and monitor lizards sneaking around your peg 😬. I think I hear kookaburras in the background?
Really enjoyed watching Den. Well done, excellent result. Watching you fishing in 40 degrees, while I'm sat here in sunny Worksop, with a barmy 1 deg and it's snowing.
@@petercarter6086 Yes mate. Its quite versatile. You can make it a light mix which breaks up on the way down or a heavier mix which hits the bottom before breaking up.
@@FishingwithDen yes i managed to get some tumeric at an Indian supermarket, an absolute bargain too, i think it was $7.50 a kilo, not sure 🤔. Meant to ask, were you using barbed or barbless hooks ?
Yes, I've never achieved such a good placement. I fish my competitions in the Netherlands for roach and bream. And the Dutch, Belgians and English are damn good. Too good to be at the forefront. If I get 10th place I'll be happy. But I really enjoy competing with them.
Well, that was a 3rd days fishing how you never came out with a few expletives is beyond me? Better a Cormorant than a Croc? Well done on the win. Bet you slept well when you got home.
Not European style fish where I live I'm afraid, although there are some local species like Mullet and Bass. I will however, be travelling to an area near Melbourne at the end of April where I should be able to catch plenty of Roach, Perch and Tench.
We’ll done Den glad to see you back
Thanks
Many thanks for the contribution Geoff. Much appreciated mate.

When you put it like that, it does sound like a bit of an ordeal Stephen.🤣🤣 Thanks mate.
well done Den

Thanks Keith. I do have a couple of spare sections, so all good mate.😁😁👍👍
well done! I would have probably melted in the heat! I have found that over the past few years my body can't take extremes
Thanks Tony. I'm getting to that point too mate.

Excellent result, and reward for skill and perseverance!
Thanks very much Christopher.👍👍
Yes !!!!
Been missing my Den in Aus matches , I'm saving this for the weekend, what a treat .
Cheers mate.
Thanks mate. This was only the second match I have fished since last October.
Quality Den as always and congratulations on a superb win . Keep it up Bud
Thanks Paul. Much appreciated mate. 😁😁👍👍

Thanks Mike. I would love to catch a few Chub again, but maybe not in freezing weather conditions mate.👍😁
Well done Den. Great win
Thanks Sean.😁😁👍👍
Congratulations den great win ! Can you please show us your set up with the shad and fan you used thanks 🥇🎣
Thanks Daniel. I will do a video on the Sunshade and Fan, but it will be in a few weeks, once the weather starts to warm up in the UK.
Well fished Den congrats on the win after the trails and tribulations on the third day.
Thanks Andy.

Be that turmeric mix doing the business, nice win Den.
Thanks Peter. That homemade groundbait mix certainly does seem to work well doesn't it mate.

Well done Den, great three days, hope the prize money covered the cost of the lost tackle.
Thanks Mike.
I enjoyed that Den . Well Done for winning. Can't wait for the weather in Cornwall to improve so I can Graham out on the bank
Thanks Bri. I'm sure you and Gray will be much happier once it starts to warm up back there mate.
Well done Den. Congratulations!
Thanks Ovidiu
Great video Den,congratulations and thank you for putting this on TH-cam
Thanks Christopher.

Thanks Peter. I'm glad I'm not back in the UK mate.👍👍😁😁
Congratulations on your win Den. Great video. That heat must have been uncomfortable.
Thanks Matthew. My new sunshade and portable fan helped enormously mate.
Congrats on the win Den. Shame about that stupid flippin' cormorant! Will you be able to repair your pole? If so maybe you can film it and show us?
Thanks mate. I'm afraid that top kit is toast though, so no repair video.
Enjoyed watching you and the home made groundbait done the trick, congratulation on winning the match
Thanks Bob. That homemade groundbait is quite versatile isn't it.
@@FishingwithDen is that the tumeric, chook pellet groundbait Den ?

Ha ha Den, just watching the vid, just saw you take a Aussie bogan fishos hook out of the 9 pounder 😆
Yep. A hook that size and he still lost the fish.😁😁👍👍
@@FishingwithDen yeah he probably tried to skull drag it in 😒 ....still watching vid, just seen you hook a cormorant!! 😳

Congratulations, you certainly had an eventful competition. Shame about the pole snapping.
Thanks Jonathan. The pole snapping was mostly my own fault I think. I was panicking a bit and I should have kept it straighter. 😁😁👍👍
@@FishingwithDen easily done in the moment, I also hate it when the float comes back at you at high speed too!
well done Den . with all the bad luck you had you still managed to soldier to victory , what a legend. hows the one top kit alla cormorant?
Thanks Danie.
Well, that was a 3rd days fishing how you never came out with a few expletives is beyond me? Better a Cormorant than a Croc? Well done on the win. Bet you slept well when you got home.
Thanks Phill. Believe me. There were quite a few expletives going on inside my head mate.😁😁👍👍
I had those missed bites on day 1 den, very strange. Assume small stuff. Not many missed bites in the last day😂
You obviously didn't miss many bites on the last day Richard. 141kgs was a massive weight for the day. Well done mate.😁😁👍👍
@@FishingwithDenI would have taken 3 sections in preference 😅 well done again. Great show

is this out in Oz?
Yep.
Why I would never consider using a pole !
