Rexburg Police Detective Ray Hermosillo took the stand during Lori Vallow Daybell's trial Tuesday and described the condition of JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan's bodies when they were found. Here is part of that testimony.

The death penalty should never have been taken off the table
Whole heartily agree... this is beyond words... beyond comprehension... I am in shock! I am bawling listening to this.
But it was the 2 guys who did this to the kids!!! Chad is getting death for this if they can prove he participated!
I guess the death penalty was taken off the table as an option by the judge because the prosecution failed to turn something in by a deadline that they had so long to prepare for. The judge also had to make it an order that the prosecution turn in the names of the extended family victims and how they were related to the decedents which is always required. He basically said he was disappointed that it hadn't been done and reminded the prosecution that it's mandatory for the victims rights. So basically the victim rights advocate and the prosecution messed up big time twice that is known about before the trial even started. They had all these years that they had to prepare too. I hope they don't drop the ball anymore. The state seems to be so soft spoken when examining witnesses that they come off like their nervous and its their first time handling a trial. The female prosecutor failed to ask Brandon a lot of questions. He started mentioning something and she cut him off and said they'd go back to it, asked him a different question and never went back to what he was trying to say.
Amen. But her death maybe Eternal
The only hope at this point that she escapes custody. just a thought.
Can you imagine how difficult this was for Detective Hermosillo ?? Having to sit there and gruesomely explaining the horrific scene over and over again in such detail?? I pray you have peace when you close your eyes every night. God bless you Detective Ray

PTSD is a real thing for those in law enforcement.
It’s awful. But he is a trained professional. They have ways to compartmentalize this kind of stuff. He’s probably seen it before or worse. But yes, seems like a very tough job.
Well if it’s the same detective his wife’s been running her mouth telling her clients all about the case, seen several comments from folk saying their hairdresser is married to the lead detective and what was seen/happening, surely that shits confidential til trials, like he won’t know his wife is like that🤷🏼♀️
And she whined that she didn't want to see this & tried to leave. I think they should surgically sew her eyes open & play these pics & videos on a wall sized screen on repeat for the rest of her life.

Well that is the prosecution's fault for not having their ducks in a row. The submitted evidence of prison conversations between Lori and Chad AFTER the Feb 27th deadline and again on March 13. So the judge took the death penalty off the table because the defence said they did not have enough time to view the recorded conversations. The DA asked for the trial to be postponed until further in the year however Lori did request back in 2021 for a speedy trial. Therefore if the judge was to postpone the trial it would be hindering her judicial rights. WHY the DA did not get the evidence submitted earlier is beyond me. I do wonder if it was done deliberately by the DA without making a deal as such. They know she is NUTS and they are really going after Chad. Lori will spill the beans on Chad and her brother.
I'd rather her live with what she has done than get the death penalty.

But while he was going over the autopsy photos and the condition of the children being found was enough for this man's emotions to sadden this man during his testimony while the family members were definitely breaking down as well and jurors
Burying the children in the pet cemetery, they viewed them as animals, when those babies deserved to be cherished and loved. Absolutely heartbreaking what was done to them by the people who were supposed to protect them!

I also think that the detectives never get used to these horrible scenes ! 😢 it’s there job , but I almost know that there are nights they can’t sleep !

I believe its for fact they want justice so desperately for these children. I cant imagine they are as strong in their every day lives after seeing the horrific things they saw. No one could be the same after that. I too have deep respect for them.

It's fairly clear to me that he was alive when the strip of duct tape was put across his mouth "from jaw to jaw". I had to stop for a breather at that point as I came to terms with the ramifications of what I'd just heard.
How dare that monster ask to be allowed to leave the court? NO, you vile creature... you sit and you listen to what those detectives went through as they recovered the remains of your children! I wish they had the power to FORCE you to look at the pictures that the journalists had to see in order to report the facts.
I am not one for violence, but I hope her life is hell in prison. May she spend every day looking over her shoulder!!!

His voice and manner are detailed and objective, but he also reflects care and horror and complete realization that these were human, children’s remains. I'm so glad that the witch 🧙♂️ was not permitted to leave the court room as she requested but was made to sit and look at what she and the other monster did to these poor children. I do not believe for a moment she was asking to be recused because she was truly upset. It was all a big act to escape the court room. Coward. Nothing can describe what I feel for LVD, her brother and husband. So many murders. So much heartache while the newlyweds danced their nights away in Hawaii.

I think that Tylee was the racoon, and tree limbs were her body limbs. I think that Chad shot Tylee, was involved in dismembering her, and burning her. 😢 This is so horrific. Prayers for family and lal those who are witnessing this.

The difference between how JJ was treated and how Tylee was treated is astounding. It seems Tylee’s was more of a rage killing. I wonder why.
I believe Tylee was at the age where she began to resist everything her mother was pushing in their lives. She was also with her mother when the one relative was shot to death in Arizona. She, as a young girl was exposed to way more than we'll ever know, and I think she was voicing her desire to get away from Lori.

Even though we've known the children were dead, buried and then recovered by police. The Detective's respectful description of the recovery and autopsy is incredibly pitiful and heartbreaking to know the conditions of these children's last earthly hours. Evil walks among us, and perpetrators of this level of evil must be brought to judgement...here on this planet and in the next world.

This was absolutely heartbreaking to hear. Painted a horrific picture. I really hope this pierced Lori’s heart, and that she thinks about it every day for the rest of her life.

She is more focus on her appearance and making sure that there is no cameras watching her getting older ,she is not a blonde ,her hair is brown and graying like most woman in their 40’s she is so vain that she cant even acknowledge her own guilt ,she is focused on what she is able to wear in court or what colour her lips are and how can she curl her hair in jail ,,,with whatever she can use ,she is so far into her denial ,she is about feeling pretty ,well .all woman goes through menopause …she will be devastated ..its coming for her too …that is where her focus is at , not about her children ,she still think that she is one of the 144.000 chosen ones and she still believe that she is above others and she is some kind of goddess …she still stuck in that mindset

The real zombies in this whole tragic case are Lori, Chad and her now deceased brother. They obviously are devoid of any humanity, heart or soul. After listening to the graphic, gut wrenching and horrific details of this autopsy, one can only imagine the fear, confusion, torture and tragic end to these children's lives. Hope these details will be ingrained, affixed and compounded in every fiber of her being for the rest of her miserable life.

My heart goes out to Larry and Kay Woodcock, and every one of the other family members and loved ones affected by this awful crime. I also feel for the detectives in this case. Everyone involved from the investigation to the news reporting and the prosecution obviously loves these innocent victims and are dedicated to pursuing justice on their behalf. They are the heroes here.

I am English and followed what has happened from the beginning. The people who have died around these two are unbelievable.The graves of the children is beyond the pail . I know they have to get as much evidence as they can to make the case stick. This case has been going on and on .

It’s an absolute shame that these detectives and first responders had more care, compassion and gentle nature for these children than their own mother. Hearing him describe how delicately they brushed the dirt away from their remains was heartbreaking.
I hope that Tylee can see that the state and public are doing their best to get justice for her and her brothers murders! I know she was a fiery soul and she would want whoever killed her and JJ to be brought to justice! It was really difficult to stomach hearing the detectives testimony...I cannot imagine what the people had to go through and what they saw regarding these two innocent victims at the site where they were dumped like trash...my thoughts of peace go out to all the professionals who did their jobs in uncovering J.J. and Tylee,the family members who loved them,the jurors and all who listened to this heartbreaking testimony....I believe she should have to stay and hear how these children were found just like everyone in that courtroom...Peace,comfort and love to Kay and Larry Woodcock,Colby Ryan and all who loved J.J. and Tylee ❤️

Hearing the descriptions of how these 2 beautiful children were buried & what the Detectives found of their bodies. This is too traumatic for words! I'm not for executions but for LV I seriously wish the electric chair was in place for her. She doesn't deserve to be living. She had their lives taken away . Precious children that I'm sure Kay & Larry would have taken in their care if LV didn't want them. Seeing her face disgusts me especially with knowing she's still allowed makeup & sort her hair out. If no DP she should have her head shaved for life !! So I'm glad I m not seeing her face! Evil witch!!
