Jacob isn't the bad boy of Drawfee. He's the boy who everything bad happens to.
It's because he didn't stay away from the luck boys.
At some point over the last two years Jacob went from "bad boy" to "tired dad"
hes the anti-hero of drawfee
"One bad day"
He really is The Fool tarot
if Jacob ever forgets to record the audio he should do everyone's voices
Can't wait for Jacob to take 4 seperate voice tracks and layer them so he can talk over himself
Omg yes! I'd love to hear that!!
Jacob should do it on purpose and try to replicate all of their voices. Like, for fun.
I can't imagine anything sadder than Jacob pretending to be Karina complimenting Jacob
@@dannykopp1992 xD
"to make up for this, I recorded myself redrawing everything"
that is in fact the funniest way you could salvage this episode - from the bottom of my heart, thank you Jacob
Even better than Baby-Dragon-ing it, tho that animation will always be amazing
For real. I was expecting a slow reveal like with the cyberpunk episode and I would have been more than happy with it.
@@tortillachips3911 baby dragoning? Am I missing van important piece of drawfee lore? What's baby dragoning?
@@stuchly1 they did a yu gi oh ep a while ago but lost the footage, so karina (i think?) did an animation to the audio, they do the classic joey voice saying baby draaaagoon ^^

The first episode in such a long time where EVERYONE ACTUALLY DRAWS and yet, only one person draws.
Maybe the real drawfee was the jacobs we drew along the way
Reminds me of Room Full of Vampires
wow, didn't even realize that, but aside from the Disney villains and heroes mashup speed draw video, they didn't all draw in a video since they changed their portraits
Is it some kind of curse ?
They should have posted this as an april fools joke fr
No one ever say that Jacob is not committed to doing the most for his audience and his team.
Yeah, he's just having a hard time doing the least he could do, like recording the drawing correctly from the starts 😏 I'm just joking.
I was going to say I hope some gave him a hug for his hard work, but he is literally engaged. So I don't have to worry.
we do stan the Virginia boy. I feel like people often get caught up razzing him but he is undoubtedly an important lynch pin in the Drawfee machine.
Yes now everyone point and laugh at him
@@ziccy2 ain't he from Georgia? Or am I trippin?
Jacob pulling a "Is this BLENDER?!" level move to save the episode. What a legend.
Omg now I'm just thinking about the "is this blender?!" episode bc that was so funny 😂
"Jacob, you REDREW THIS EPISODE?"
@@vansapo6558 YES THIS EXACTLY
He did a great job! I'm glad we have the final image and render though!
which episode was that might i ask?
I love that Nathan and Karina's first reactions to "The screen isn't recording" is to scream with laughter.
Just to make it easy for people, it's right at the end at 36:09.
as devastating as it was for jacob to redraw the whole ep for us, it gives me a fun idea for another ep 🤔
what if the crew listens to the audio of a really old ep and has to live draw what theyre hearing 👀
i imagine some particularly funny improvs need to happen when someone says "uh julia, what's that??"
It'd be weird to make a recording of that I imagine, but that sounds like a fun drawing experiemnt
Bump
Love this idea
@@tortillachips3911 yeah i dunno how it'd work, maybe if the crew were quiet to let the recording play out, but we get to see a face cam for reactions 🤔
I think it would have to be solo drawings, like a speed draw but probably not because audio
Dang, the amount of Effort my man Jacob put into salvaging this video is impressive.
"LET ME GO!"
Jacob should be careful what he wishes for.
No cap, the fact he probably managed to nail more or less the different art styles, too...like damn dude. And we thought Julia liked to flex lmao
I promise not to make fun of Jacob for a whole month minimum after this
@@thrownstair maybe like half a month
Yeah, but ended up being "1 Artist Draws 1 character". Bit underwhelming, imo.
OK....everybody isn't allowed to razz Jacob now for at least a month after this.
Seriously, massive kudos to Jacob not only for salvaging the episode and redrawing everything, but matching everyone's styles pretty damn perfectly.
Plus it would have been a real shame to miss out on the stellar audio.
I think that he had everyone’s final images, but didn’t have the process to get there.
Jacob Draw This In Your Style Challenge (mandatory)
It's praise Jacob month!
When there was only one set of footsteps in the sand, that was when Jacob carried this whole episode.
What a hero. Thank you, Jacob.
He carried it, but like after dropping it. The five second rule and all that.
@@i_spok8533 A flawed hero, which is the best kind
I'm sorry, Jacob, but the call to literally recreate the whole episode from memory is the wildest, funniest and most impressive thing I can imagine. You could have flushed the episode, you could have just released the audio... but no, you went for the solution that's somehow both absolutely insane and absolutely the most correct one. So on brand!
I imagine he could listen to the audio and look at the finished drawing while redrawing to help him remember how it went. That's so much work to do and then edit to feel natural, though! We don't deserve these people. :)

Jacob saying "Draw your flannel" like Julia is refusing to eat her broccoli
I’m so impressed how Jacob managed to redraw the images so well that the renders can fade in so easily. He’s really committed to 2 million
I'm gonna be honest. I was drawing while this episode played and only half watching, and it matched up so well I just assumed Jacob did a full render of his redraw.
Most likely, he was tracing. Either way, it is a lot of work.
@@QuotePilgrim he didn't trace because you can see inconsistecies, most notably Karina's quadrant because he has a hard time with sharp curves. he probably prepped the composition though.
@@spagetter Or he just wasn't that precious about it. Or, more likely, he didn't trace over the final renders, but rather the initial sketches, given that he would have realized that he failed to record the drawings immediately after they finished recording the episode, before anyone had time to render them.
I say this because, while not impossible, copying something to that level of accuracy is extremely difficult, especially seeing he doesn't really make a lot of adjustments. That is, it's not literally impossible, but it is practically impossible.
Tracing is basically the only reasonable way of achieving what he did here, and for the vast majority of artists, the only way it would even be possible to.
@@QuotePilgrim isn't this a plain screen recording though? there's no way to trace the drawings on screen without the layers showing up right?
This already is a classic drawfee episode. Apologizing for forgetting to record, the out of pocket intro, just perfection once again.

Not to mention Jacob's amazing, underappreciated response to Karina's comment at 21:30 and the perfectly edited ending.

the episode ending with "the screen wasn't recording" is the perfect closure to an episode like this. But it was amazing, Jacob you did a great job

Big props to Jacob for owning his mistake and solving it
Realizing that Jacob just traced the line art, but then he used videoediting to make the voiceover match up better... That's actually some impressive dedication
Except if he was just tracing we would see what he’s tracing, so unless there’s some kind of recording software magic that could have the original line art in the back without recording it, he’s just redrawing it with the original as a reference.
@@magnum_cx8805 Virtually ALL screen recorders have the option to only record individual layers and not everything visible on the screen. Jacob could have quite easily overlayed the original on top of the canvas for reference while tracing over it in a way to not make the original visible in the recording. That's not to undermine the immense amount of effort it still would have taken to do this, but it not the black magic you seem to think it is.

Holy wow, rest in peace Jacob's hands. The dedication is crazy
let's all say "thank you jacob" to let him know we appreciate the effort he put into redrawing everyone's art.
I have to ask, is that a reference to the first Seattle live show, where Julia asked the audience to all say, "Thank you Jacob" in unison, and we did it surprisingly well? Or are you just coincidentally appreciating Jacob in a way that reminds me of that? Either way, I'll say it again: Thank you, Jacob.
@@HeavyMetalMal42 i legit had no idea about that lmao
@@prageruwu69 Hahaha. It would have been fun to think I’d picked up on a sign from someone else who was in the crowd that night, but the coincidence is also very good.
If I’m remembering right, we were thanking him for his efforts to deal with some kind of technical issue then, too. I hope they managed to record those shows so they can upload them here.
Edit: I did not intend that last bit as razzing Jacob about the recording whoopsie here, haha. I just remember seeing on Discord that they were going to try to record the live shows, and then I haven’t heard whether that worked out or not.
Kudos to Jacob for this episode, but that said, when they were talking about the biblically accurate Drawfee Butt-tron, the second Julia said hand-crawling I immediately pictured the worst possible version of the Addams Family's Thing, and I would like to be compensated for the emotional damage.
I like how the top half and the bottom half look like separate pieces bc of how similar Nathan and Jacob’s rendering styles are as well as Karin and Julia’s
The banter alone makes this a top tier Drawfee episode, but the fact that Jacob put in so much extra work to recreate the drawings makes it even a more topper tier episode.
Everytime I catch my eyes wondering over to my second monitor to do a thing while I watch, I feel a small amount of guilt and think; "But Jacob did so much to make sure I could see every moment". Don't worry, Jacob. Your hard work wasn't overlooked.
"My whole lives have been a lie??" - by a cat is an excellent Nathan joke, clap clap.

Mistakes happen, but the sheer amount of work you put in to make this into the fun video and present you and your coworkers work is commendable. I can’t imagine it was a lot of fun, so thanks Jacob. Yet another demonstration of the extra work you do to make this kick-ass show happen.
I don't believe in commenting before watching a TH-cam video, but the combination of the solemn JPEG and the absolutely _destroyed_ intro has already sealed this episode as a classic. Can't wait to see what Jacob meant by all that (and, thank you, Jacob).

I've heard of every creator imaginable losing an episode to recording problems, or even just forgetting to hit a button. Seems like just an unfortunate thing that happens and I always hope creators don't beat them selves up over it.
But salvaging a whole freaking episode. That's insane.
