@@R147-y5j Hi I don't know if you ever found her. I found her on Instagram and TH-cam as Londee Wiggins. She has a song called 'Falling In Love' on TH-cam.

If you ever had the pleasure of seeing New Birth in Concert you know how Awesome they are. They sound just like their records Live! Amazing!! #BestConcertIEverSeen
I remember being like 5 yrs old hearing my mother playing this and the hook stuck in my mind for years..70s flavor will never be duplicated other than sampling..
It's amazing how at a young age you can latch onto something that you cannot absolutely interpret..but never forget...fast forward, our list of song steadiness allows us to articulate what you heard years later
Haha, I swear that vein on the side of Leslie's neck was gonna pop when he came out and busted that high note near the end of that song! BROTHER AIN'T PLAYIN' AROUND ON THAT STAGE!!! ;-D
Londee was phenomenal, I never understood why Harvey Fuqua doubted her delivery early on with the Nite Liters. Fuqua was a giant in the music industry, I can only assume he prompted her to improve to the obvious level in which she later became, though not as powerful a performance with Ann Bogan not in there.
I know all about these old African American songs because my big brother who's almost a decade older than me was so much into them that he'd play most of them all day long. especially during summer vacation when I used to read lots of comic books & magazines and draw as a hobby. I never forgot waking up and hearing for the first time prince's controversy or 1999, but that new birth music always held a special place in my heart because it was one of the first I'd hear early in the morning. But most of my big brother music served me well when I started weightlifting, and then, a few years later, my little brother who is barely a year and a half younger than me started to buy and listen to his own,... and that's probably cost us a great deal in the long run because when I proposed him and one of his friends to invest in ideas such as Google, Facebook or even youtube which seems a little bit too far-fetched at that time (back at the end of the 1980's), they' wouldn't listen to me but would rather invest their money in sleazy phone line or some recording studios that they finally had to give up on because of bankruptcy. I couldn't do anything back then because of a medical problem caused by a minor surgery so that had me with breathing problems for decades. listen to a lot of music will probably make you a little smarter indeed but I also believed it takes other combinations as well to make it so. Even though I probably bought only 3 or 4 records during my whole life and only spend some of my money on buying lots of comic books and magazines, I've never been short of music,.. not to mention all of these old Spanish and French records from my Dad.
VERY hot song! I understand that it is a live version, Jus wish that that they would've slowed it down to that "strut" tempo like the recorded version.
I never heard a man get up into the "whistle" range. I'm not saying it can't be done, but I've never seen nor heard of it until this guy (I don't know his name). I had a black girlfriend who could do it.
New Birth, wow. This band sort of paved the way for other bands that featured both male and female leads (Atlantic Starr, One Way, Rose Royce, some of those UK "acid jazz" groups, etc). Always sounded better live than they did on record. Wish more bands like these would come back on the scene again because that kind of sound has never really been bettered since...
PeekaPeep Facts. They were also one of the only few groups to rotate who sang lead on various songs through their discography. Leslie, Melvin, Londee & Alan got a chance to do their thing upfront.
@@canardtates5027 Underrated singer, Ann was. I've always believed she was never right for Motown as her voice way too soulful for the girl group sound Mr Gordy wanted.
DARK SKINNED BROTHA SOUNDS BETTER DOIND THE SONG THEN THE LIGHTER ONE IN THAT OTHER VIDEO!! THIS GROUP IS UNDERRATED MAN THEY SHOULDA DONE UNSUNG YEARS AGO. ARE ALL THE MEMBERS DEAD MAYBE?? AGAIN OLD SCHOOL IS IN THE HOUSE BYE NEW SCHOOL LATER LMAO!!

And I'm 60 and still in love ❤️ with Leslie Wilson ❤
This is one of my favorites by this group.
I think there's quite a few version of this song and the original was sung by Perry Como, but the new birth Version is by far the best.

Londee Wiggins Loren.
