First Impressions of San Salvador! (El Salvador Travel Vlog 2022)

- A visit to San Salvador is an interesting and exciting experience to say the least! The fact is there's a lot going on in not just the city, but the whole country of El Salvador right now. Most of what's going on is a place that's really improving and making bold and new moves. Visiting right now gives you the chance to witness all of that change and progress, and it's exciting to see!
In this video, we're mainly just talking about our first impressions and not pretending to be experts. Rarely does a place give you so many impressions and observations so quickly. The city has a lot of contrasts. From wide open, quiet residential neighborhoods and fancy, large shopping malls to crowded, loud, bustling markets that are like mazes surrounding the city center. The pace and the prices certainly change from one side of town to the other, but the strong Salvadoran culture is just as strong.

It's been 40 years since I came from El Salvador, to LA California watched a lot of YT videos, wow how the country has changed, hope to get the opportunity to travel and visit the places where I grew up.

This is hand down *the best* video I've ever seen of El Salvador. I'm a native (left 40 yrs ago and visit every year). I love how you captured everything that makes the country so fun and lovable (including our fascination with stamping everything at 9:54 lol). Many props for eating the delicious-looking pupusas along with the curtido (something I don't often see in other videos). Your video should be the official tourist video for San Salvador. I loved it

The city it self has been neglected for decades since the 60s imagine that it is until now it is recovering it self from those right wing government but right wing of el salvador is actually the woke left in the US using gangs to stay in power run by jews sorry but is true not being racist, bukele has and its cleaning the historic center so all those market are being clean up in recent days after decades of blocking the main side walks.

San Salvador is a city with two main area.
The down town what you shows nicely...where the low clase lives.
And the modern city in the north next to the volcano, were the wealty, clean, new building and the power of the country is concentrate.

I just might have to add this to my travel list! Thanks for sharing. In Ecuador they also used the gold dollar A LOT. I went almost a year ago and still keep finding them floating around in my purse.

Great video, you should also visit the city of Santa Ana, it has the best cathedral (Gothic) in Central America, the lago de coatepeque, the Santa Ana Volcano that you can hike up to the crater. Don't forget to visit the beaches.

Given our long lasting difficulties with the criminals gangs it is a relief to have the Army and Police permanently patrolling our streets. One day, eventually, our new government will get rid of narcotraffic and gangs. Thank you guys, enjoy.

I like the fact that you showed the old and chaotic part of the city but also made us aware that the city has moder shopping malls and pupular/international food franchises. Many bloggers that visit the city only show that chaotic, dirty area in historic center and viewers tend to think that the entire city looks like that.

I was there 2 weeks ago. 87 ppl were killed that weekend, 62 in one day.
You guys should visit Apopa, Mejicanos, and Soyapango at night once things cool down. Those places are lovely for American tourists making videos.

Thank you for providing practical advice, like how far the airport is from the city and how much does it cost to get to the capital. Ive traveled on chicken buses in C America, and these sound about the same (cheap and crowded). I like traveling with locals when it is feasible and safe. These are the details that help me to to know what to expect.
