  • Santa Ana is El Salvador's second largest city and it's the perfect hub to experience all of the epic attractions you can find in Western El Salvador.
All within an easy day trip from Santa Ana:
The country's tallest volcano, Volcan de Santa Ana (Santa Ana Volcano). Which you can easily hike to the summit of and look down at an epic turquoise crater lake that's literally steaming. On a clear day, you can even see the Pacific Ocean from up there, and plenty of other volcanos.
Lago de Coatepeque, an epic lake in the crater of a volcano that you can swim in. Surrounded by restaurants, bars, and hotels.
Ruta de las Flores (Route of the Flowers), a road that takes you through numerous small colonial towns, famous for their flowers, art, colonial architecture, and mountain scenery. The towns are surrounded by waterfalls and gorgeous nature, and the route has several coffee farms along the way.
You can also visit ancient Maya ruins from Santa Ana and tour coffee farms. It's an epic area to do a lot. If you have time, you can also visit Guatemala and Honduras, both of which are easily accessible from this part of El Salvador.
Beyond the nearby attractions though, the city of Santa Ana itself is an absolute hidden gem in Central America and it quickly became our favorite city in El Salvador. As well as one of our favorites in all of Central America! It's a lively and active city with a ton of culture and spirit, lots of history, an amazing food scene, and a unique blend of old and new. Away from all the action, you can easily escape into one of dozens of quiet and peaceful streets and neighborhoods filled with flowers and fruit trees and dotted with cafes and pupuserias.
We love Santa Ana and in this video we take you around the city, introduce you to some of our friends, and show you some of the things you can't miss when you visit.
Have you been to El Salvador? If not, would you consider going?
We highly recommend it! When you do go, make sure you don't skip out on Santa Ana!
Follow our friend's TH-cam, he's based in Santa Ana! @ElMininoRick
We've been off the radar for awhile but we're back. Stay tuned for more El Salvador videos, including some from the coast!
We also have more coming from Mexico, Nicaragua, and more. Stay tuned and make sure to subscribe if you aren't already. For those of you who have been along for awhile, thank you so much for your continued support, amigos! See you out there!

Unfortunately I had to watch with no sound (in bed, wife asleep still) and there’s no CC on this one. That said, there’s still great visuals.
The city looks more “American” than I thought, the food did as well. It’s great that you met an other couple to explore a bit with, that would make things easier in a new country.
Thanks for including CAD in your prices, I know small details like this take a bit of extra time. The price to enter the park seems a bit steep but well worth it. It’s amazing that you can say you’ve bought an ice pop from a vendor on top of a volcano!
I guess it should be no surprise that there’s pyramids in El Salvador, I just didn’t know anything about the county, until now 😉.
Great video, it was nice to see you guys, I haven’t spent much time on TH-cam in the past few months. Take care👍🏻

I have some recommendations for you I think you might like it The town of Apaneca is very nice cold weather and down the road there is a restaurant called Entre Nubes it is very relaxing there is very good coffee of the area there . You might also like Concepción De Ataco picturesque town like Apaneca with many murals and The city of ahuachapán exactly The park Concordia In that park there is a lot of atmosphere, next to it is the church, and a passage with the same name where there are cafeterias, restaurants and some hostels. A little outside the city there is a tourist center called Siloé there is a swimming pool and it is next to the Ahuachapán lagoon almost everything costs 1 dollar 👍🏻
