  • Dutch Dakota Association’s PH-PBA was originally C-47A, 42-100971. On June 6, 1944, she dropped paratroopers of the 82nd Airborne Division over Sainte-Mère-Eglise. Later that same year she would also participate in Market-Garden.
After the war she was the first Dutch Royal Flight aircraft, initially owned and flown by Prince Bernhard, who later sold it to the government for more general use by government officials as well.
Sadly, after 40 years of flying passengers, this will be the Dutch Dakota Association’s last year of operation, due to ever increasing headwinds from all directions, such as rising landing fees, fuel costs, availability of fuel, suitable hangar space, noise restrictions and such.
On July 19, 2024, she flew from Amsterdam to Luebeck, where she would make a number of pleasure flights over the area of the Travemünde Woche nautical event, before returning to Amsterdam on Juli 21.
