Close your eyes and try to visualize this on an actual kit with the sticking, it's pretty interesting...ALSO, in both sections, KEEP A STEADY CLAP ON 2 AND 4... the time will turn around like a 1 and 3, then go right back to the groove later.... I like to do that.... esp. in a jazz solo context, where it seems to work well....
Not very long, it's basically a carryover from playing other 8 and 16 pad controllers. I guess it all depends on what you want to do with it. A lot of the stuff that people would do on a regular kit, I can do on this, but everybody else may not be comfortable with those finger twisting arrangements.
