Great video for those who are looking for something quick, simple, and effective. I might need to adjust the mids a bit for Apex, but it honestly sounds good across most games.

where's the website for sonar presets that can be downloaded. looking for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora but would like to have presets for games not listed. I can never decide which one to use and hate having to go through every preset to find the one that sounds right for the game not listed. cant find any that work for Avatar.
I don't see the micrphone chat set up when i try and switch to it in streamer mode in master volume. Is there something i've done wrong? How can I fix this. Help please!
Anyone got any Sonar EQ settings for Hunt: Showdown? I find the preset to be a bit deafening and can't hear footsteps
I just bought some roxel rx310 stereo and hd headphones with powerful bass, but that's an understatement and they're way to bassy, punchy, and too loud. They're a bit higher quality headphones but they went overboard with the sound a bit no doubt.
I've devised a configuration for stereo headphones that will make them sound like a pair of sony headphones. It will work with any media tv shows, movies, music, and games while still getting enough intense bass without killing your eardrums. It should work for most headphones just adjust it when needed.
Made at 100% volume. Mixer volume 50% - 62%.
Adjust the volume when needed this is set for my overly loud headphones. Balance the mixer volume with your computer volume by setting it to the same number e.g 50% mixer and 50% computer volume. You may need to turn it down on a video or certain aspects in a game though.
To get your computer volume working click to automatically set to default in the orange bar in the mixer window and sonar will usually choose gaming as the default but it'll set any output you select in windows sound settings to default. Then go to the bottom of sound settings and click "more sound settings" and set your computer's audio device e.g "speakers realtek audio" to default. Sonar will then switch the output back to the steelseries sonar gaming output but your computer volume will now work.
First i started out with a new Flat configuration and then adjusted it mainly keeping the frequency the same i simply adjusted the db on each dot.
Sub Bass. Purple Dot: gain 5.0 db. frequency 36.4 hz. peaking eq 0.707.
Bass. Blue Dot: gain -2 to -4.0 db. frequency 120.0 hz. peaking eq 0.707.
Set the bass box under the equalizer to 3.0 db this is for how much muffle you want on your bass. The blue dot in the equalizer is the overall bass level. Any older music like from the 1950s and 1960s or with two ear channels such as simon & garfunkel you may want less of an overall bass level if it sounds too harsh, the same with any music with loud acoustic and strong electronic sounds and bass.
Low Mids. Light Orange Dot: gain -4.0 db. frequency 339.8 hz. peaking eq 0.707.
Click on the white line somewhere past the faint line under low mids in the equalizer to add a point and adjust the low mids.
Mid Range. Pink Dot: gain 5.0 db. frequency 1000.0 hz. peaking eq 0.707.
Upper Mids. Red Dot: gain 8.0 db. frequency 6.00 khz. peaking eq 0.707.
Highs. Dark Orange Dot: gain 6.0 db. frequency 18.00 khz. peaking eq 0.707.
Under the equalizer set the voice to 2.0 db.
Spatial Audio: immersion -6.0. closeness 80.
You may want to turn spatial audio off if listening to something with two channels.
The path of exile game configuration is pretty good though but i think their configurations need working on because that's the only one i've found that works well enough. Or rainbow six siege by ubisoft that's pretty decent but the not as great spatial sound but some people like it for certain games to hear footsteps from far away. You will need to adjust the bass levels in the equalizer a bit along with the mixer volume.
Is there any way you can have the same volume while using Bluetooth and game ?

Heythere, one question: i Have the Arctis Nova 7X and it only shows Headphones "Arctis Nova 7X at the dropdown menue. So there are not the extensions for "game" "chat" "media" and so on...How can I fix this? Thanks a lot! Nice vid!

I have had a problem with sonar recently. Even when I mute or put the volume for my mic all the way down, OBS still sends my voice to my stream unless I mute myself in the OBS audio settings.
If anyone else has the same issue and somehow solved it, please let me know.
It's super new still in beta i was getting it changing my volume on the mixer, my guess is they need to do some work on the integrated artificial intelligence and the configurations they made are no good except the ones for games they muffle the sound so much.

Love the video helped a lot!!! Only thing I need help with is when selecting the playback device options in each category (Game,Chat,Media,Aux,Mic) I only see Headphones (Arctis Nova Pro Wireless) I'm not seeing the Sonar options in the drop down menu but I do see the sonar options in Microsoft Sound Settings...Am I missing something to make the sonar options available to see in the dropdown playback menu?

The Sonar dropdown menus provides you with an ability to select your output devices. The virtual devices are configured and used by default once Sonar is configured.

It's the only way to switch between output devices by going to the sound settings in windows 11. In sonar it'll only find either your headphones if you're using a pc or the default inbuilt device in a gaming laptop which will be called speakers. It may be possible to do it in the audio settings in an online game though if you play any.
Can i get the rainbow six siege preset I don't own a pc and would like the value of rainbow six siege for each eq slider value

All of a sudden, all the settings I set on the equalizer don't work. Sonar remembered the last settings and now when I change the equalizer...it doesn't work. remains at the last set. how to make it work
Turn it off and then back on in the sonar settings that tends to fix it. You'll have to clear your browser and exit your game though when doing this so the sound comes back again.
Do you need the software to run at the background for these to apply and work? Or can i close it down after applying these?

i dont get it, i have steelseries arctic pro but all i see is Zowie XL (Nvidea High definition), which is my monitor, Digital Audio (High definition audio device) i think its something like the mainboard sound driver? and Headphones (arctis nova pro) but i dont have "Headphones - Chat" in media for example, and in windows i can choise everything as main audio device.... like i can take "steelseries sonar - media", "steelseries sonar - gaming", "Headphones" and so on... im very confused, can someone help me
If I understood you correctly, on Windows, you can choose certain audio settings and you can choose the sonar settings that it will use. For chat, in-game or in-the-game settings you can select Steel series sonar chat for the chat settings.
@@lux_satani What he is saying,m and I have the same issue, is that in Windows audio settings, he can see "Steelseries Sonar - Gaming", or "Steelseries Sonar - Chat", but in the Steelseries GG App, under the Sonar part, the only thing he select for Game Chat, Media, etc. is "Headphones (Arctis Nova Pro).
The options the vides shows are not available in the app, but are visible in Windows Audio Settings.
Did they removed the sliders and updated it in to graphs for the mic tab? Ive seen some tutorials with sliders and yours is with graphs, like mine. Is there an option to change it?
the graph is Sonar, the sliders is just EQ settings. in the GG software instead of clicking "Sonar" Click "Engine" and then Click on your Headphones, then you will see the OG settings.

Sonar is exclusive for PC, for ps5 you will need to adjust directly in the gamedac

I found this video looking for a solution to the microphone not picking my voice up correctly. Your mic seems to be doing the exact same thing! what the heck is that? can you fix it? my headset is brand new and this mic quality is unacceptable even for a 10 dollar headset.

Go into discord and set the mic to sonar, and the audio to sonar and it’s routed!
