This museum, the Art Institute, and Wrigley are all on the itinerary.

They should do a larger document on the boat for those who can’t visit it but can only see it through books and documentaries!!.

When Burlington shifted this train to Texas to become the Sam Houston Zephyr, it was in direct competition with the Southern Pacific Hustler and Sunbeam steam heavy weight passenger trains. Burlington had the all important "air conditioning" and won the battle. Eventually the Rock island brought another Pioneer Zephyr to Texas and ran the Texas Zephyr in the opposite direction every day... Hard to believe at one time these two Pioneer Zephyr train sets make two roundtrips in Texas daily between Dallas and Houston... Amtrak presents doesn't have any roundtrips...
The staff member here gave out so much incorrect information that it is a bit disturbing. Just a few examples: There were no hidden 'booby traps' , but scuttling charges to sink the boat. The diesel engines did not operate underwater to keep the boat quiet, they did not operate underwater (unless it had a snorkel fitted) because they needed air to run. Please learn the boat.
