As a big Jubilee fan (she was my introduction to the X-Men thanks to the '92 series), I was also a bit emotional at hearing Holly and Alyson together on episode 4. And hearing Jubilee doing a Magneto impression earlier in the episode was hilarious. I loved seeing that side of the character. And that fight with Bastion in episode 10... just wow! Going forth, I hope the writers have Jubilee developing her powers, whether in the Danger Room or out in the field. And yeah, let her grow up as a person too. As a character, she's too good to always be The Kid Left Behind at the X-Mansion.
Holly did an amazing job. Sounds very similar to the OG voice, and it was the right thing to cast an Asian actress. Having Alyson pass the torch was just the icing on the cake.
I love that all the xmen were used and got to show their abilities and non were superfluous. I'm glad that the behind the scenes you only hear good stories from the voice cast.
While I would have loved to hear Alyson as Jubilee for new episodes of one of the X-cartoons I grew up on, I support more voice actors getting more roles. I love Grey DeLisle, but in 'Be Cool Scooby-Doo', she voices so many female characters in a row that I wonder how many voice actresses could have gotten hired 😆.
This must have been a huge win for Asian representation. Not only do we have a Taiwanese-American superhero who does away with prominent Asian stereotypes, but she's also voiced by an Asian actress who has the original VA's blessing.
@@Papa_KhanShe could be, given the sound of her last name, but I haven't been able to find any information on Holly's specific ethnicity. Though to be fair, she's not really a big name, so not much appears to be known about Holly in general.
No one said Jim Lee created her. I said his run on X-Men started in the early 90s and she became a prominent member of the team more and more in the 90s. I didn’t even mention anything about when she was created. 🤷🏻♂️
That a need was felt to pin this title with a date in the past and use it to essentially overwrite it is obscene. I didn't touch it because it never really felt right, and now I'm really glad I didn't.
Oh, she got the part. Damn. I've just spent the last couple of nights thinking to myself that Canada is so liberal that its radical openness to the new wave is out of control.
Alyson! Are you crazy? You can't say that stuff! This is the first I'm hearing of any designation of Jubilee's ethnicity. As much as I can tell based on my history of exposure turn the X-Men franchise, it had no bearing on the plot. Jubilee was just a kid list challenges and awkwardness and difficulty. That's all she needed to be. It didn't have any implications for her life as an X-Man. I think making storm darker makes her look like mud. The old Storm was wise and mysterious, with the name that itself told us that her culture was so far removed from what we were used to as mainstream Western society, and I think that says enough. Mobilizing superficiality good drawing our minds to what we see with our eyes draws attention away from the quality of storytelling, which we should be focusing on.
Due to possibly relations to George Floyd's death incident aftermath, Alyson Court declined her return, with unfortunate circumstances of races playing an Asian character. So Holly Chou was in on the series.
😢take this with a grain of salt, but after getting rejected from dream schools even with above 4.0 grade as a minority because there is no affirmative action. But I see we have affirmative action in Hollywood when it impacts Asians. I've seen this time and again outside of college admissions.
We live in such strange times, when performers who aren’t even seen on-screen give up paid gigs voicing cartoon characters because they’re terrified they will be accused of being “racist”.
Responsibility falls more upon the creators than the artists; ‘racist’ is mostly a bit much to default to, but there are ways to be thoughtful in regard to these topics IMO.
How many people are looking forward to X-Men '97 Season 2? What would you like to see from Jubilee next season? COMMENT BELOW!
More of her being cool in general. She had a really great moment in the finale.

Literally crying watching the two Jubilee's interact. My all time fav X-Men member. 😭😭😭😭😭😭
This was an amazing chat
Thanks so much for watching! Glad you enjoyed it.

Jubilee is Asian? isn't she american?
@@JoelChenFabelieve it or not you can be both asian and American
I'm not sure why this is such a big deal myself. 🤷♂️
I love alyson court! She are so sweet and love his voice
I love them both so much!
OMG it's Claire Redfield!
They need to bring kitty pryde in the show and have Alison play her
That’s a FANTASTIC idea!
Yeah. I'm surprised she wasn't in 1992-1997. Kitty has been in a lot of X-Men events.
They're both great.

Alyson Court and Holly Chou sounded too similar on the show! That was such a great episode

Alyson is still wonderful 🥰
13:26 Scooby-Doo voice: "ROOOOOAST!" 😆
Thank you for filling in a hole that the newest Marvel Assembled episode left out.

Is Holly even Taiwanese? If so thats cool but if not its super random and racist to group all asians together when casting.

Alyson Court!!! Claire Redfield ❤️❤️❤️😭
FYI....Marc Sylvestri and Chris Claremont created Jubilee, not Jim Lee.

you look like you've lost a lot of weight since last semester.
…I wish! But very kind of you to say.
Always felt the Jubilee character was unnecessary but extra and worthless characters were a thing back in the 90s. Morph doesnt make any sense either.

This seems hateful and out of left field lol

The world we live in today is very stupid...
lol yeah libs win ✌
