She went from being a childhood show host that I loved to watch when I was a kid, to the first hero I would met in the Resident Evil games as Claire Redfield, Alyson is AMAZING!!!!!
Thanks for interviewing Alyson Court, am such a big fan of hers.An am such a huge fan of The Big Comfy Couch .As I watch every single episode,an all six seasons starring Alyson Court only.An I also have the Big Comfy Couch Lonnette an Molly plush dolls.
It’s so cool that you got to talk to her. I loved the Big Comfy Couch as a kid and had a Molly doll that I carried with me everywhere. I remember when I was about to start Pre K my mom took me to meet my teacher before school started and I had my Molly doll clutched it my arm. My teacher asked me about the doll and I was like “It’s Molly.” My mom then explained that I really liked this Big Comfy Couch show and the doll was from the show. My teacher had never heard of the show but my mom must have told her when it came on because she actually started watching it. Then we would talk about the show everytime I came to school. I was a kid who was usually shy and slow to warm up when meeting new people so starting school was always a challenge for me. But 5 year old me thought it was so cool that my teacher liked Big Comfy Couch and I liked her so much because of that and was always so excited to get to school and talk to her about the show. Me and this teacher really bonded from talking about the show and still keep in touch to this day 27 years later!! I wish I could talk to Alyson so I could tell her this story. She definitely made a lasting impact on me.
WOW thats amazing!! Alyson was so awesome to have on the show. She has some crazy stories and I'd love to get her back on one day. Thank you for watching and PLEASE subscribe itd mean the world to me :)
Not sure how I stumbled upon this video but I'm so glad I did! I think everyone remembers her for TBCC but I remember Alyson most for when she was one of the hosts of the CBC block for kids called Get Set For Life. I don't often watch TH-cam videos that are this long, but hearing her talk about parts of her life and career was a treat. She seems like such a lovely person and I'm glad that she's still alive and kicking! Great interview!
This is awesome!! I had the Molly doll. I still have it someplace, but I loved that thing so much I carried her everywhere. I LOVED Big Comfy Couch, and I make references to it all the time lol. Just between my older sisters, and myself. They would often watch it with me when they babysat me sometimes. My oldest sister is 11 years older than me, and my second oldest is 8 years older than me, so they often watched me and my older brother who is 4 years older than me. I was born in 91, and I was the right age when it started airing in the US.
When I think of childhood shows, Big Comfy Couch is easily in the Top 5. Basically everyone I talk to including my sister who is a 92 LOVED the show. Thank you so much for watching and PLEASE subscribe 🤡
Thank you so much for the compliment! I love being able to chat with all the people who MADE my childhood. Also I love that other people are enjoying it. Please subscribe and thank you again!
56:51 "I'm 5 feet tall" I KNEW IT! I knew she wasn't 5"10! Some website said she was F foot 10 inches. If she is f"10, then Major Bedhead is 8 foot 7 inches. lol Also, not for the first time, she choked up while talking about Erik Suzuki.... Anyways, she did mention talking to herself. I'm in human psychology for 10 years now, and this is basically thinking aloud, trying to act out the perspectives of other people or how you perceive other people and things... I do it all the time actually. However, she did mention in another interview that she found the Big Confy couch to be "opressive". Wonder why that is. Anyways, thanks a lot for this. Great to see Alyson still have that high energy.
Thanks for that question about Elvis Meets Nixon. I KNEW they had some Canadian influence in it, and I think some of the extras were also canadian. What impressed me the most about her was not her acting, but the fact that she hid her strong Canadian raising accent, which shows you DEDICATION. And from what I already figured out, Alyson Court is a DEDICATED actress. As for her acting in that movie... umm... started off good, but you could slowly see the Loonette influence coming through quickly, especially when she finds out that Elvis just boarded a plane.
@@Thequinnmarrshowturns out she was not Emily Elizabeth from the 2000’s pbs one which is the one I know but interesting to find out it’s been out since the 70’s. My dads time he didn’t watch educational stuff though he was into action things. By the way I used to listen to big comfy couch every Saturday morning at 6am different voice for Lunette though because I found a couch episode where lunette is calling people names they dislike and it’s this woman’s voice and i remember her having a Russian Grammy not an auntie
My friend, I had a question. What was the procedure to get in touch with Alyson Court to appear on your show? I mean, is there a particular website, or any type of fees involved, or is it a case of just sending her a direct message or something? I've been wanting to do something similar, but I do not know the procedure or method to reach some of these celebritie, where I would like to discuss some of their works. Could you please kindly help me out? I really look forward to your response. Thank you in advance.
Still watching but absolutely love this! So much I didn't know!
Thank you SO much, Erin! Alyson was an absolute treat to chat with.
I love that she's wearing a Lydia shirt
Haha yes!
