One of the reasons I like hockey is that the refs (and linesmen) aren’t cowards. Right in the middle of the skirmish trying to stop it. Argue on how they handled it, but at least they were trying to stop the fight.
Love it! Reminds of when my ECHL team and our opponents were ALL in their respective penalty box! Quite a site.......it's a passionate game with both teams and fans feeling strongly!!
Calgary announcers are blind.. Witkowsky ran into the guy and then tried to skate around him.. the calgary player had his hand up at Witkowsky and wanted to fight..... so they did and he got dummied.. simple
Bullshit the seats were like that in the first. Poverty stricken dem run shitlope. No one can afford a game even with Trump pouring a million new jobs a year into the USA.
TheKillerSniperKid ∣ NHL 16 No, the poster is right. Much of the lower bowl seats are sold to corporations. Sometimes they go sometimes they don't. The other seats are usually full because that's where most of the hardcore fans sit.
Watch Mathew Tkachuk....dives in swats someone and jumps back out ....repeat. Then goes around the outside of the circle doing cheap shots. What a goof ball. Goes around comes around.
Tkachuk started that. Look at him while Witkowski goes off. No reason to hit him in the leg like that. The Refs should have let Witkowski kick his ass.
LETS GO WINGS. Hamminic got his ass beat by a blind mantha. atta boy. Kulak got what he deserved. he got shoved to the ice because he wouldnt let Witowski go.
That mess is all on the linesman. Instead of making sure Witkowski actually starts walking towards the hallway once he gets on the bench, he turns to the Calgary bench. Dude, there are other officials out there. Let them handle it.
For people saying Mantha was being dirty for punching Hamonic on the bench, if you go watch other videos and interviews and stuff, you would know that Hamonic was continuing to throw punches as well, and that Mantha couldn't get up because he had a ref on top of him, so the only choices he had since he couldn't get up was to either just sit there and let Hamonic continue punching him, or punch back. Also, in the fight between Witkowski and Kulak, Witkowski really did nothing different than you would see in just about any other fight. He didn't throw any punches when Kulak was down, he threw one AS Kulak was going down, but that's very normal so don't say it's not. Yes, he lifted him up and shoved him back down once after the fight was over which was unnecessary, but there's much worse than that that goes on in most fights. Plus to add to this all, Tkachuk caused this brawl. There was NO need to hit Witkowski with his stick after he was on the bench. Then, after some shoving, as Witkowski got on the bench for a second time, Tkachuk thought it would be a good idea to continue instigating by reaching over and punching Witkowski in the head, which is what really started the whole thing. It immediately led to several players attacking Ericsson for no reason and so on. Going back to the Hamonic and Mantha fight, all Mantha did, with the help of Zetterberg, was pull Hamonic out of the brawl to get him off of his teammates which is totally normal, but Hamonic is the one that started throwing punches, even though Mantha still had his gloves on. Mantha didn't throw a single punch until after his helmet was ripped off and he had his jersey over his head, which was SEVERAL seconds in to the fight, Clearly Hamonic was the one causing this fight. Let's also not forget that Hamonic and Tkachuk were the ones causing problems throughout the whole game. A couple players on the Flames bench also got involved in the brawl by throwing some punches which is a BIG no no. None of the Wings players on the bench got involved. Booth, from the Red Wings was trying to stop the Flames players on the bench from getting involved, but that's it. I've seen people saying that Athanasiou was hitting Hamonic, and that's not true at all. The only thing Athanasiou did was put his hand up when Hamonic almost fell over the boards into him, that's all.
The rule book states that if any player is given a direct order by an on ice official to leave the ice for the dressing room, they are required to proceed immediately as instructed at all times. There's no excuse for an ejected player to return to the playing surface or bench for any reason (regardless of any unnecessary actions by their opponent).

Coming back on the ice like an idiot after you've been sent to the room is a 10 game minimum. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the rulebook makes any exceptions if someone lightly taps your skate on your way out.
I was at this game! It was the best one I've seen in person. It was crazy to see it all happen right in front of you. This is what we pay money for! 6-2 lead wiping the floor with the Flames and a pretty big skirmish. There was a lot of energy in the arena that bought Night!
It says it in the rule book 70.6. Any player or goalkeeper who has been ordered to the dressing room by the officials and returns to his bench or to the ice surface for any reason before the appropriate time shall be assessed a game misconduct and shall be suspended automatically without pay for the next ten (10) regular League and/or Play-off games (if a suspension isn't fully served after the completion of the playoff season, they'll miss either part of or the entire preseason). Once the order is issued, the player must leave for the dressing room right away.

Liam Canasa, and Hamonic intentionally pulled Mantha’s helmet off to get cheap shot on his head like the coward he is, you didn’t see Manth try and pull Hamonic’s helmet off. I wish Mantha had smashed up his face some more, dirty players like Hamonic deserve what’s coming to them.
So why do you like a chump who hits a player when he's down and can't defend himself? I can see your dream team: Avery, Chelios, Raffi Torres, Bertuzzi, Marty McSorley, Dale Hunter, Matt Cooke...

There is going to be at least 200 minutes in penalties, including major, misconduct, and game misconduct penalties for fighting, no, no for brawling, among with several players, including two goaltenders, in each team.
