This guy should consider playing a locals or regionals tournament, I have a feeling he'd have some success
I offered my coaching sessions along with my spreadsheets to him I think he will value my locals top 8 experience
I actually helped Jesse with his first ycs win
I was the card sleeve he is right
Imagine being this big of a weeb. And you wonder why someone don't touch you?
He wouldn't stand a chance 😂
Coming back to this before the YCS. Your logic behind Evenly Matched makes sense, but generally, if people stop respecting the card, its viability goes up. Snake eye Boards are ending on Appo, field spell, IP, Hope Harbinger, princess, Flamberge, and hand traps. Giving up your BP is rough, but because Harbinger stops appo from being run over anyways, your BP ain’t doing enough unless you’re OTKing. That being said, Evenly trades very well considering you’re blanking 3 interactions and follow-up off 1 card.
I think it’s definitely worth considering a little bit more now, but it depends what people are playing and what combos they decide to go for.
Funny I think the side deck maybe section is where a lot of the innovations come from. They also make up most of this in a pie chart so there is a lot more merit to these cards. Also they are harder to predict in deck building.
For what it’s worth, Tenpai cannot dodge Chalice if you chain it to their effect during the damage step as they cannot quick synchro at that point.
When activating " Forbidden Chalice " during the damage step, it will be activated from the beginning of the damage step to before damage calculation.
remember that!
But they play the odd eyes synchro that stops you from activate cards in the battle phase.
@@mikehobbes6600 okay? That’s also like a 2-3 card combo to make that depending on if they get the field spell. Most of the time, they will have to commit to the BP to synchro
@@mikehobbes6600it only prevents momster effects anyway
Alt vid title:
Raising the value of Fenrir, and reducing the value of Black Goat Laughs.
While not the greatest out, Super Poly does a good job against Tenpai. Hitting the first synchro along with Chundra has won me games just off my opponent not having any follow during the battle phase. Isn’t always the prettiest, but in Voiceless where my extra deck is loose enough for a few Super Poly targets it’s not a terrible pick.
Or in Yubel you have like the best Target for it
But if they go field spell + black rose first or field spell + Sangenpai Transcendent Dragion in M1 then.. super poly would do nothing at all.
@@Riruka_Dokugamine I did say it’s not the greatest out
@@blaze3422160 indeed. and yet you said that it still won you games. Probably because the tenpai players could not or just didn't play around it.
@@Riruka_Dokugamine well yeah, a hand trap or two plus super poly does a solid job against a lot of decks. Drolling the field spell or Paidra pretty much kept them off extension and relying solely on battle phase. Again which is why I said it’s not great since super poly is best when that’s all is needed. But super poly solo does jack all.
As far as Simul Archfiends goes, you could, in theory, activate it in the draw phase and it lingers for the whole turn. When i originally read the card, i assumed the card type (link, xyz, etc) needed to be on the field when you activate the card but I later found out through Master Duel that wasnt the case.
Something that is worth taking note of are the herald hand traps (orange, green and purple).
While mostly specific to melodious, they are essentially a free gamma, etc with how much recursion the deck has.
Purple in particular as a counter side option that makes d-barrier and other high impact backrow much less reliable against melodious. Purple also stops imperm which is one of the few ways to negate bacha.
Idk Bacha says your fusion monster effects can't be negated. So I don't see impermanence working
@@lifeisadream1992 imperm (and veiler/mourner) still works on bacha because imperm negates all effects (including the passive effect that prevents the activated effects from being negated) so because imperm negates that passive effect the active effects of bacha also gets negated at the same time.
Incenible helpful video! Thank you for that🙏🏼 I would love the same type of video with engines!
Don't listen to him
@@Qwerthepro why?
@@Qwerthepro dont listen to one of the best yugioh players of all time when he's giving his thoughts on the current format? what????
@@Basswire yes I know he's one of the best and I respect that guy, he's probably more knowledgeable than me, but... In this exact video, his experience is somehow missing, most of the cards that he said where bad are actually super good and that's it I ain't trying to be disrespectful or anything pls don't get me wrong
One thing about Black Goat you didn't mention: It's an incredible thrust target for the tenpai matchup at the minute, calling the chundra stops them from getting to a tuner until info support (and even then you can chain it to the summon effect of their search, stopping one line of play). If you're playing thrust anyway it's worth considering siding 1, imo
Insane tier list man! This is why we are here!
This is why I'd like an update to the ninja deck again!
thanks for the analysis, definitely finding it helpful, will stay tuned for more.
I’m glad people are finally jumping on lockdown
To all trap enjoyer, simul archfiend is a lingering effect, so even if you shotgun it in draw phase the card still check for the same type of monster they cant summon
And if you're playing Lab, there Is a funny normal trap called banquet of million that Is just better
I find Ash Blossom to be okay, not great, but okay. Biggest draw back is the once per turn clause which makes it a lot less useful drawing more than one in the opening. Droll is the pick I like over it since it isn’t once per turn and it shuts off adding cards to hand. Both are situational and good, but depend on the current board state and what the matchup is to be really useful.
Great video. 👍 keep up the good work.
Question, isn't dd crow really good when they're trying to put ip in the backrow
Thats why Witchwolf is so good. It can be used most than once per turn and it has almost no drawbacks. Red D. Archfiend converts it into a board wipe and some Towers like cards are affected after being flipped facedown.
Thank you for making this type of content, man. We really appreciate it.
You need to add Marmiting Captain on here. It's a bit of a sleeper card, it can mill one brick 🧱 into the deck and then special summon a card if it's a monster. Works really good with Gold pride
Please can you do a where to hand trap or rate how good each hand trap is good against each deck?
I think Typhoon (the normal trap) warrants a spot on this list.
Love these in depth videos and the insight. Thank you Jesse
What's this snake-eye ash, sprind, nemeses flag combo? I cant seem to figure it out haha
No one expects pure zombie world. makes ash, belle, mourner and super poly more efficient while crippling floo and tenpai
What are your thoughts on heat wave?
I like mind control for my Snake eyes, or think its fun, take a floodgate or something big in the way and Snake eye tag out especially if its negated i still get their monster out of the way 😈
I agree with most of this as always. I actually disagree with black goat it is chainable so it is worth considering. Not just because of it being used to stop things on your turn. The fact is it does both and it can hit any key card you call so of your know that match up the value is there. This meta may seem closed but not exactly. You can still loose to a die roll especially if Droll leaves the meta and tenpai keeps selecting to go second without cards like Evenly Thrust and drnm around players can still build a board.dek and beat you the problem with snake eyes is when you hand trap it successfully it ends on basically vanillas and its follow up does the same thing every turn so if they do put up a real board you have zero chance to win unless you are using a board breaker strategy. I put it in side deck maybe for sure. In hand trap / starter wars this card will get you the same value as crossout which is a 3 of in pure non negotiable if you are at 40-42 cards. Honestly if playing cross out there is no way in hell I go over 41. Unless trolling online or whatever just testing.
Another card you dislike:
Evenly Matched. In a lot of match ups this card is insane if it resolves and is not played around especially if it builds a board a real board. You could say not enough decks do that and that is fine but I believe it has decent application against rogue decks that you could loose too. Shifter decks, stun deck such as runick etc. Also in your mirror if you are able to combat through hand traps and get to at least ip princess with hand interruption, you have likely won the game anyways. It will also have value in any real board breaker strategy which I find to be viable right now. With fiendsmith coming out that may actually change since it can do roll back but once people realize it is stopable players will stop playing it just as they did did FTK card in mannadium. Centurion uses this because the deck truly has no better option except using this combo imo. Tbh Unchained could do this combo and they are opting not to which makes non sense because that deck actually can play through interruption quite well. Similarly to that of snake eyes it also doesn't loose to a Shifter. Rip Sharvara 🙏. (I blame you for this lol) anyways, I am not sold on Eclipse but think it's OK and respect your reasoning. Droplets should be higher. Much higher. As with tenpai around the card actually got a bit better. As for Dimensional Barrier: "I think this card sucks" in a hand trap war this is the last card I want. It is very rare to where I can get stopped set barrier and play through whatever they do again amd kill it. The green one does not die by battle and they can literally just make seal. Idc about Branded or tear if you are playing the best deck you should be beating this match ups or you are not playing the best deck. If you are loosing to these match up decent enough without barrier that is called an "open meta." Barrier is a card that if I am playing Thrust and less hand traps that I find to be excellent if I am playing hand traps I would rather play something like strike, Droplet. They can not "always see a fucking Lightning storm" lol black goat deals with tenpai well enough if you do not miss play the card and in your mirror is psychotically high value. Against voiceless the card could literally solo that match up. Clearly this is used going 1st and 1st only. Keep up great content! 😊
Pretty sure you can shotgun Simul as it doesn't say currently control.
what cards are the best to side vs snake eye in particular as going 1st and what cards are for going second?
Opinions on Soul Release?
Vv can actually play atound drnm quite well thanks to their new spell. Drnm is really only strong against melodious.
How?
@@michallengowicz6751 it requires 2 card combos. But any 2 card combos allows you to end on Skull, Lo, Barrier, and Blessing on field, with Saffira and any Ritual in hand. If they DRNM you, Lo and Saffira is guaranteed to be Level 7, so if they summon anything, you can Tribute both for the Ritual in hand. Lo will then revive, and place Radiance. If DRNM is their only non-engine piece, you're still guaranteed 1 disruption from a ritual and up to 2 pops from Radiance.
Thanks I appreciate the explanation. Is the Melodius version of the deck the best in this meta? I play the Branded version and I'm wondering if I should be upgrading? I play irl with friends usually. @@minnayuan2591
I think White Woods will be the best deck Post INFO. The Centurion version has only a small amount of bricks and is almost just consistency cards except for non-engine, the Runick version has no bricks that I can think of, and the Spright variant in my opinion after testing has such a strong ability to play through hand traps and dominate your opponent that its almost scarier than full power Tearlaments. I believe that because it can simultaneously play through Nibiru and Ash Blossom and that because it can make so many interruptions that if you use Spright Red or Gigantic to play around Nibiru instead of through it that the deck will have no problem at all becoming the best deck and that its resource loop when it gets going will almost never stop and its easily unmatched by Snake-Eyes. White Woods can make Dweller on top of everything else and it can Snake-Eyes for breakfast. White Woods Centurion is capable of making Dweller to meaning that even if Calamity gets banned White Woods Centurion can place a strong enough cap on all of the strongest and most resilient decks in the game that just synchro summoning Cosmic Blazar on your opponents turn and synchro summoning Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon and setting True Awaken the turn after can be enough to win. The follow up with the White Woods side of the deck after you become immune to Nibiru is really insane to the extra interruptions make White Woods Centurion close to unstoppable once you get that far. I:P allows any White Woods deck to effortlessly make a 3 or 4 material Apollousa without triggering Nibiru. My recommendation would be that if you know your opponent has It to try and wait till Nibiru can hurt their own turn to make Apollousa with I:P. If you do it that way then it shouldn't be too difficult to make a comeback.
After listening to this for an hour straight I made my blackwing decklist and got top 16 at locals if you want coaching guys just let me know
The video was posted 4 hours ago what are you talking about lol
@@DebeliYuGiOh yeah watched it before 4 person locals

What do you think of unending nightmare?
Well my staples binder got purged
Thanks for the video! I’m a little curious as to the reasoning why going into battle phase is bad vs snake-eye. Can’t it force I:P/S:P?
Because they live a turn and start turn 3 with 8 cards in their hand
@@Bigdog-qs2zz specifically referring to Evenly Matched in this case, but you can also bluff the evenly and decide *not* to go into the battle phase.
isn't LS+Duster good vs Tenpai. Getting rid of their spell in the main phase that they set is strong. Also, SE decks are siding in skill drains so having additional backrow removal vs them is strong or else u just lose if they flip skilldrain.
those are normal spells; sure, if tenpai goes first, board wipes could be nice... but theyre trying to make you go first so they can OTK.
what are your thoughts on Blizzard and Sales ban?
Idk I feel like against anyone that is not a YCS champ Simul Archfiends will absolutely put in work. I just don't see how you can meaningfully get beyond Link 2 without burning all your resources
read that card over again
@@davecatss6652 I know exactly how it works I've been on it for a while. You can raw make a link 3/4 but it prevents link climbing. It applies goofy pressure to cause misplays and weak boards
Different dimension ground?
Where is heatwave and Raigeki?
Great video!
Unfortunately buying such staples are out of my budget nowadays that printing proxies as a temporary one (don't worry I'll buy some soon) is a better move for now.
Almost all of these staples cost less than $1
@@metaggrit Not these, what I meant is if i wanted to buy the full snake eyes package. For example, the cheapest diabellstar in my country is around $25 (ultra rare). For that price, i can print almost a hundred card proxies.
@@gericjohnm.olivar9563that's not what "staple" means. The whole video is about cards generally used to beat other decks; not the cards used to build your own end board. Also, why would you comment that even if you thought "staple" meant your own engine. Jesse didn't talk about that once in this video.
@@metaggrit Here in Brazil, 3 ash and 2 nibiru are 39 dollars if you convert the local currency to dollars and the salary if you convert it is 247/248 dollars
I have been maining rivalry since snake eye became tier 1. Card is busted
why nibiru is a main deck must? i uderstand is the best HT to pair but most of the meta decks only summon 4 times or less for example voiceless, branded, kashtira, labrynth and tenpai summons on bp
Branded absolutely doesn't summon less than 5 times. What are you talking about?
@@danielcodoceo722 they can go for gimmick luck in less than 5 summon and you only Say that i'm wrong with branded i mention like other 5 decks
@@jairllanos4180 if they try to puppet lock you in less than 5 summons a single Handtrap destroy the whole combo, and they end up with the weakest of the boards the deck can make, even after resolving puppet they can't OTK you.
@@danielcodoceo722 bro we are talking about nibiru... No other ht the matter is if nibiru ir good or no on Main
@@danielcodoceo722 but we are talking about nibiru no other handtraps, the matter is if nibiru is good on Main or no ? And in this formato nib only affect 2 or 3 decks in the meta
Droplet?
Bruh just off the first 3 minutes i never thought about called by being a dead card i always wanna see it in my opening hand but if i cant use it to stop my opponent on his first trun when i could have had vailer, imperm, ash ect for the correct card needed in a situation to disrupt my opponent. Bruh us Uubs need a Kakorot 😂(noobs needling a senpai)
dont step down
Will you team with me at the Next 3v3 Team YCS?
Good
was it necessary to go that hard on the background music? lmao
Suui
Do you think called by can come back to 3
That's a good question, considering a lot of people want it banned
Could be, but majority wants it to be banned instead.
It's either allow it at 3 or banned. I personally lean more towards at 3 but I do see a world where banning it would be better.
It is a very strong card when you going first, because if your opponent drops ash and you have called by, in this case you will have a full combo, knowing that your opponent will start his turn with -1 card. I choose for to banned called by rather than to return to three, because it is unfair. Any card helps to going First like that should be banned, , it also not fair if your opponent does not have a hand trap. In this case, you can set called by and your opponent in both cases loser , we don't have maxx c so banned called by please
Cut the music
Forreal there’s like a dark frequency playing throughout the whole video lol gives it a bad vibe
Harpie's is a good card, along with tons of other cards, look just because u don't know how to play a staple doesn't make it bad okay
