Classic Tails and Knuckles being just model imports kind of defeats the point in comparison, though. I get both versions of Amy because altering the jumping mechanics themselves could be a huge pain, but flight and glide were implemented for modern Tails and Knuckles so wouldn't making them on Classic be easier?

would hate to burst your bubble, but this is just a bunch of different mods edited to make a mock up of multiple characters. however, SHC 22 seems to have a mod with different customizable skins for sonic, so a mod like this may not be too far off.
This would be really cool as an actual mod, but it's most likely not possible unless completely new mechanics are to be made and implemented into the game for the character selection and switching, and even then you'd be adding a lot to the game, perhaps more than it can handle. The thought and concept is still cool though.

Sonic Generations is pretty strenuous as it is on the engine, having frame drops at multiple points. Now I'm not knowledgeable on these topics, so I could be entirely wrong about this.

Not gonna happen. I really wish it would but I been waiting over a decade for them to come to that decision and all I really got was Mania :/ (which is a good game don't get me wrong, but I wanna play as other characters besides Sonic/Shadow in 3D again...)

I think Modern Tails' energy bar should recharge automatically in exchange of not having hitbox, that way the flight will feel more natural

The flight and glide were dependant on the boost gauge for the modern counterparts tho
Tails flying is likely just an upwards boost

Riders had them with Boost and Gravity Dive which is Zero Gravity's.
you'd think blaze would be a no brainer since she literally started the entire boost genre

Not having this in Generations in the first place will never not annoy me. Still love the game, but in hindsight, it's pretty bare-bones, really.
