The education system in the US is horrific. Also home schooling needs to be checked on.
As someone who was homeschooled, I can guarantee you that the average homeschooler comes out miles ahead of the average public schooler when it comes to testing their education. Half of my peers were taking full-time college loads at 16.
Homeschooled children still have to pass annual state exams. I can guarantee you know little to nothing about homeschooling aside from biased speculation you've heard.

You are assuming that these people actually have an issue with the US becoming a christian fascist state, this is for sadly a lot of them what they want. They want massive censorship of anything that doesn't fall into a strict way of being, they want women to have lesser rights, they want minorities to have lesser power, and they want labor to have no power. Yes it is because they have been told and convinced that this is what will make a great and strong nation, partly because they have an incorrect view of the past.
In reality there has historically been a lot of overlap in world view between Liberals and conservatives in the United States, when I talk to too many liberals they also believe that giving power to elites is a good thing for society. Look at how many of them worship Elon Musk, then look at how Musk was able to get soooo much support from the far right by playing to them. In the US their is a lack of understanding of wealth and the wealthy by the middle class and lower classes as a result they will say things like "Musk is rich so clearly he knows what he is doing" because they don't understand that staying wealthy has nothing to do with competency really in any field.

Being transgendered I am mortified at what’s going on with the country…being that I am one of the most hated class of Americans right now… I recently moved from Alaska coming off of a real bad work experience, and a battle with the state now, residing in Texas. I have not been here in Texas long enough to find my people (people who love and accept me unconditionally), even though Alaska may have been tough employment wise due to the battle I had, but I at least have people who loved and accepted me 100%.
I'm a trans woman who has been living as such for over 13 years, I came out in high school when I was in Mississippi.
I just want you to know I see you and I hear you and I want you to know that you're never alone even when it feels alienating. I am your trans sister and I am here. We are all here and we are all everywhere. Hang in there. Be kind to yourself. Please stay armed and vigilant and be safe. Please allow yourself to have some joy in your life despite the cruelty of the world right now. You can do it. I did. Our ancestors did. I believe in you! Much love to you. You willl find you your people too in Texas, it takes time. I suggest looking for some local LGBT or trans collectives & organizations or even LGBT friendly spaces to meet new people. I did that when I moved away from the South and into a new city and now I am one of the most prominent people in the local music scene after 7 years. It took time. You will get there.
The vast majority of people don't hate trans people. They hate trans ideologies & gender being taught to children. There's an enormous difference. People aren't outraged that trans people exist. They're outraged at the enormous uptick in the trans population we've seen since bringing gender discussions into schools. It's the furthest thing from a natural uptick. Children are incredibly impressionable
You would be better off migrating to Australia where Transgender people are welcome and accepted for who they are. Australia has a worker shortage in most industries so now would be your best chance to get into Australia.

My favorite class in high school was Civics. I had a young, knowledgeable and passionate teacher. Now the kids in school don’t receive that. How do they receive any framework to understand our government which they can use throughout their lives? So very sad, and it looks like it may be what destroys our 240+ year experiment, in short order.

America has the oldest constitution in the world by a long shot. Yet it is seems sacricent to discuss it. I honestly think America has serious flaws that a constitution could fix but that the American "Father's" did not and could not anticipate. The world has changed a lot in so many ways in the two and half centuries since it was written. Many of the issues facing America, from the wholesale corruption of politicians, issues around elections, to the inability to get any meaningful legislation done in the paralyzed Senate, and more can all be traced quite easily to gaps and flaws in the American Constitution. Yet it is never discussed because it is very effective in protecting the elite class from the working class.
When you get down to it people on "both sides" have very similar policy issues on the vast majority of issues. Yet real substantive issues are not really discussed by barely anyone beyond trivializing a few of them and weaponizing others.
What is happening in America really scares me. Hope saner heads prevail soon and a voice can cut through the chaff with a message of truth that resonates.
Elections are flawed but not how most people think. America is an Oligarchy and people need to learn what that means and why it is the cause of many of the real issues everyone faces and how to make that change and demand that. Hint, new constitution.

The only thing keeping the government from outright banning dissenting opinions and gun ownership is the Constitution at this point. It's taken the oligarchs centuries to find ways around the Constitution.
This "new constitution" would be written by the people you're complaining about and it would be like most other Western Constitutions today, with multiple assurances that the government can infringe on any human right they want to if they feel like it that day.
Do you have data on what was the percentage of people said Trump was not a legitimate president? From what I remember almost every self described hardcore democrat said Trump was not legitimate. Did we forget that? Was that considered a threat to democracy or is it only when the other side does it?

The political reality of our modern world is in constant flux incomparable to anything in our history. Over the past year our human collective has shifted into a completely different paradigm of existence where the old ways of being and doing simply don't apply any longer. Like honest campaigning with open elections and voting being enough to maintain a democratic government, but nobody's caught on to it yet. Now we have to do more and go further than our forefathers. We have to think outside our piece of the pie with all our senses now. All of us need to be discovering new ways we can make life work for the other guys not just ourself.

I don’t understand why when people vote for people on the Right side of the political spectrum it’s said as a threat to democracy. The people voted for that person, these people are directly participating in democracy by voting for who they want. Democracy is not under threat.

@@CC-qb6pf Absolutely it is. I don't live in the US but I'm fascinated by its politics. In fact, ever since 9/11 the USA has dropped significantly in democratic rankings. Institutions have become more authoritarian and elections for the most part are highly misrepresentation of what the country wants due to the electoral college. Democracy is dying in America, its not the fault of either side of the isle in politics, but the beauracrats. Nice try though.

Yes, our country was founded on religious freedom among many, many other things. However I don't think she quite understands what religious freedom means. It's not the freedom to implement laws based off of religious beliefs, or to put "god" in public schools or public buildings such as courthouses, law enforcement agencies, federal government buildings, etc. It's the freedom to follow and be a part of any religion you wish, or to not be a part of any religion at all, it would go against what our country was founded on and out constitutional rights to implement laws based off of the Christian faith, or to put "god" in our schools, providing prayer time in schools for the Christian faith, etc. We have things such as separation of church and state that means the government, and any public establishment paid for with tax dollars can not push any religion regardless of which one you want or like to be implemented. It's sad that millions in this country have no idea that most of our founding fathers despised religion, especially Christianity. For some reason they have this strange idea in their heads that we were founded on Christian values, couldn't be further from the truth. We were founded by those who said things like "lighthouses serve a more important purpose than church", or "Christianity is the most perverse system to have ever shown on man", more people would do themselves a lot of good to educate themselves better on our founding fathers and their hatred of religion, again, especially Christianity. If you wish to be a part of religion, any religion, knock yourself out, have at it by all means. You don't, however, get to force that religion onto my kids while they are at public school, nor will you tell them they need to "repent to Jesus to be saved, lest you be subjected to burning in hell being tortured for eternity". At that point my kids have all permission from me to slap the sh*t out of whoever threatened them like that using their religion. Matter of fact I would take them out for ice cream for doing so.

This is one of my favorite docuseries ever! I'm terrified of the trajectory on which America is currently plummeting. This has been informative and provides a sense that those of us who TRULY love freedom, real, true freedom...we're NOT alone, we see one another, and we care about the same things. Propaganda is a powerful weapon that is dissolving the moral fabric of America. We have to fight back, this is an existential threat to democracy, and the liberties we take for granted are at stake. Keep it up, guys, you're doing America, amd the world, a great service.

Part of that involves showing the Trump fans just how they've been mislead. Namely how the values they believe aren't really Christian ones, but just ones falsely justified by cherry-picking bible verses. Further show that their valuing of so-called "all-American" or "manly" traits does this nation more harm than good. Also, point out that poverty and crime are lower in Scandinavia, Germany, and Canada (owing to much of it being nextdoor to MAGA land - center of the continent). Even in the US, New York State has a lower murder rate than Oklahoma.
