Alisha Kalley One thing I do is learn the unique varieties of tests my teachers make. I feel like all my teachers have unique styles of testing such as the content and types of questions being asked such as contextual questions, application questions, etc.. Once you figure out how your teacher structures the tests you can study accordingly. For example, tests that are content and memorization based such as history class, I will create a quizlet with practically all the information in the unit and review and review. Math teachers tend to give out study guides practically identical to tests, so I make sure to understand every aspect and go in for questions beforehand if i’m confused. English tests for a book I will refresh my mind reading summaries on SparkNotes, Litcharts, and others. Overall, repetition of material through studying and being able to predict the test has helped me. I hope this makes sense since all schools are different... :)

Thank you so much, this video is very helpful. Congratulations on your score! I'm a rising junior and still trying to formulate my schedule for the fall. I am striving high too and planning on taking the SAT in October. What classes did you take for junior year/are planning to take for senior year? A lot of APs/Honors? Thanks again:)
This year, I took US History 1 Honors, Japanese 2, English 3 Honors, PLTW Principles of Engineering (This is my major), AP Physics C Mechanics, AP Calculus BC. I don't have a lot of electives because my major takes up 2.5 periods. As a seniors, I'm going to take AP US History, English 4 Honors, Introduction to Coding, PLTW Computer Integrated Manufacturing (my major), AP Physics C Electricity and Magnetism, AP Statistics.
@@kellychaCool those courses look very interesting/challenging! Yeah I'm aiming for AP Psychology and AP Computer Science Principles next year as well as APUSH, Spanish 3, English 3 Honors, and Precalculus Honors. Do you have tips for time management during junior year?
As far as management goes, don’t procrastinate because you’ll get stressed. Also, don’t stress over small things. Sometimes, it’s better to prioritize and focus on what matters over busy work that is checked for completion.
@@kellycha I love the PLTW Engineering I wish I can get in but my school now only offers 9-11th. But digital electric designs and upper PLTW are offered to seniors.
i always come back here in believe i can change and be a decent human being that actually likes to study. honestly 1300 is perfect for me and what my college wants but i can’t even do that and i keep getting remarks of how useless i am from my parents. as much as i hate those words i can’t courage myself not to be useless. i hope i can be like other students who actually have patients for sat!! if you ever get this remark i am here for you. ill listen to you maybe that’s the only thing i am good at.
omg. im gonna take it in march and its october rn. I was so worried cuz i thought all smart kids started in like freshmen yr lol. u rlly gave me so much motivation. honestly thank u so much
you see...my "how to get a 1500+ on the SAT" (imma' graduating senior btw who got two 1510's) would be basically use khan academy and use a 1993 ti-82 calculator on the math section and get an 800 'cause old calculators are liiiitttt XDXDXD...the video would be like a minute long and would literally help no one XD...but you gave some really good tips, and you're def ten billion times more dedicated than i was studying the SAT (i literally did one practice test on khan academy the night before the test at like 9-10 pm smh XD!). you definitely deserve the score you got, kelly :D!
@Lamia Siddiqui hey :D! well, i always had a better time with math personally than the reading...that's just me at least. as for my sat prep schedule in general, i literally just used khan academy's prep (it helped me a TON). tbh i wasn't too dedicated like kelly in studying; i would do maybe a few questions every now and then. then, the night before the test, i crammed one whole sat practice test...including the writing portion...at 10 pm - 12 am in the morning XD! do not procrastinate like i did, but i believe achieving a score in the 1400's - 1500's is definitely possible with Khan Academy with enough effort! hope that helps 'ya! best of luck, i know you'll get that bread and do well ;D!!!
If you don’t know how to use google docs and want to use my google doc as a study template, just go to files and click make a copy. You do not need to request for editing access because that is to edit on the original and I want the original to stay the same. If you make a copy, it will be just your file and you can edit it anyway you want. I keep on getting emails from you guys requesting editing access, so please just make a copy. I made that option available.

The problem is so many teachers put huge emphasis on homework. Your lucky you went to a school where that wasn't the case but I always had at least 3 hours of hw to do every day that weighed heavy on my grade lol.
Your video was really helpful and inspired me thank you so much 💜 I'm an international student so math is easy for me but English section is hard. I'm reading books these days and I hope it will be helpful 😅 thanks again 🌸
Omg... Thank you SO MUCH for sharing, you are literally the best SAT prep guide ever. I am currently a sophomore with a score of around a 1320 and I really want to improve my score up to 1550 by March Junior year. I already have most of the books you listed but am not sure how I can start prepping. Also, I don't want to waste all practice tests since I have a year left. What would you recommend Kelly? Should I slowly go through the book and master each concept and cram the practice tests when I get closer to the test date? Or pace my study & practice test evenly throughout the year OR just cram it towards the end of the year? Your reply would be soooooo much help!
Rachel King I think what you do depends on how you learn. Some people work better when they cram, but others work better when they space everything out. I would start studying/ learning, using the books, and take a practice test maybe once a month and carefully review each question when you look over the answers. With a month or two left, you should only be reviewing, not learning, and taking practice tests every week. I think there will be enough tests (8 from college board, and the rest from reddit). Hope that helps! :)
Omg my first SAT score is coming out this day🤦♂️ I’m actually so stressed as a Chinese student, hopefully I can get 1400+ this time and 1480+ in Aug..Those books are really important, tks for ur helpful video~
Wow I'm really glad I discovered this video. Currently a rising junior taking the SAT in October with 2 months left of studying and I only have a 1250 rn, I'm really trying to get a 1500+ so I don't get kicked out of the house because my parents confuse the SAT as the Chinese gaokao exams😂
Hey! Last summer I was like many of you guys and I was studying hard for the SAT. I took the test once during my junior year and I got an 1150, Knowing that I wanted to apply to some top tier schools and ivy leagues, this score was not enough for me and demoralized me. I didn't have much time left before senior year so I spent all of July and August studying for the test. I only used Khan Academy and practice tests to study by myself. After lots of hard work I managed to get a 1510 on the test and later that year, I got into UPENN. If you would like to hear more about my story and how I raised my score so fast and quick then watch this video: th-cam.com/video/RLOtuiTowfg/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps!
Jael Fragoso thank god someone said it. No hate because she’s going places and I’m sure she’ll be successful, but it’s not worth it for me to study for hours and hours. I had a 1230 without studying at all and all I really want is a 1290 for the scholarships

My 10 psat score was a 1050. I got an 800 in English and the rest in math. I am not good at math. I also haven't taken geomotry yet. Hoping that helps. My goal for SAT is a 1350 or higher for the college I want to get into.
I literally got an 1100 w/o studying and got into UC Davis with okay grades lol ur stats don’t always matter. But I’m not downing people who want to spend that time to study and want a good score and get into a better school great job! Now I just gotta wait about 4 months until I can finally take the test but I just wanna give my thanks for these tips & tricks because it most definitely helped me 💯🙏
omg this makes me so happy!! good luck on the real test and lmk how it goes :))
Sometimes, it’s better to prioritize and focus on what matters over busy work that is checked for completion.
kelly cha oh yeah that’s so true. Thank you so much for your help!!
Thank you. Your tips are amazing. Continue making such great videos. Absolutely loved it!
Thanks!
girl I need you as my motivation
hey just wanted to say thank you for saving my life you're a real G
omg. im gonna take it in march and its october rn. I was so worried cuz i thought all smart kids started in like freshmen yr lol. u rlly gave me so much motivation. honestly thank u so much
Thank you so much, especially for the Reddit section-I wasn't aware of that
Congratulations on amazing success!! Best wishes in your choice of college and continued success.
you see...my "how to get a 1500+ on the SAT" (imma' graduating senior btw who got two 1510's) would be basically use khan academy and use a 1993 ti-82 calculator on the math section and get an 800 'cause old calculators are liiiitttt XDXDXD...the video would be like a minute long and would literally help no one XD...but you gave some really good tips, and you're def ten billion times more dedicated than i was studying the SAT (i literally did one practice test on khan academy the night before the test at like 9-10 pm smh XD!). you definitely deserve the score you got, kelly :D!
Haha, I'm glad it worked for you! Some people have to work a little harder. Thanks!!
@Lamia Siddiqui hey :D! well, i always had a better time with math personally than the reading...that's just me at least. as for my sat prep schedule in general, i literally just used khan academy's prep (it helped me a TON). tbh i wasn't too dedicated like kelly in studying; i would do maybe a few questions every now and then. then, the night before the test, i crammed one whole sat practice test...including the writing portion...at 10 pm - 12 am in the morning XD! do not procrastinate like i did, but i believe achieving a score in the 1400's - 1500's is definitely possible with Khan Academy with enough effort! hope that helps 'ya! best of luck, i know you'll get that bread and do well ;D!!!
jfendi yess khan academy is an amazing tool. plus it’s free
also, congrats on such a high score! i got a 1370 when i took it in march, and just wanna break 1400 ehe
All I can say is .. Thank you. This is the most helpful video I saw regarding SAT❤️
I made that option available.
kelly cha what did you do for any science on the SAT ?
What is the link for your study calendar
Could you find the panda book SAT essay in the library.?
@@djheannam7764 theres no science on the SAT
Your time table is really good and I hope it will help for my SAT exam
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! i’m an upcoming junior & this information is gonna super helpful for when i start studying.
not researching my graphing calculators before buying it a couple years ago is one of my biggest regrets in life
kaitlin j which one(s) would you recommend?

i used a calculator that they offered and it didn't even have the button to enter exponents 😣 still got an 800 in math tho
Thank you so much Kelly!! You've inspired me to study hard to achieve my score!!!
The real trick is figuring out how the test is made. Studying is optional.
either you come from a very good family that has educated you very well or your just far behind
the black book does that for you:
www.edufileshare.com/950d87e4034befaa?pt=ZW5wWVlrOVBVR2RxTDBNMWFVdFZVR05SYzI5NFFUMDlPZ00zZDdaVzFMdk5LK1poK1UrMzMxVT0%3D
How do u find out how it’s made?
Don't you figure that out by doing practice tests.
@@justanotherweirdo11 read the book "up your score"
Just started planning to take the SAT 1 test, your video is very useful.. thank you loads
you deserve more subs!! thank youu for the advicee
You’re so inspirational!! I want to study for both the ACT and SAT. Thank you for this video! Also congratulations on getting such an amazing score❤️ you’re so smart ahh
Thank you!!!
The problem is so many teachers put huge emphasis on homework. Your lucky you went to a school where that wasn't the case but I always had at least 3 hours of hw to do every day that weighed heavy on my grade lol.
Thanks for the tips this helped me relax a bit about the SAT 😀😀
Amazing video and thank you for the tips!
@@kellycha Thanks a lot! I really appreciate it :)
That’s actually pretty good and your a sophomore so you will improver
Sorry for typos
Extremely helpful! I relate to your opinion on the math, reading a writing sections
This is the most helpful sat video I've watched, thanks for sharing
Congratulations for excellence and for your discipline and commitment. You will excel in college and in life.
this was so helpful and well done. thank you !!!
I've got just 2 weeks to write and I'm so stressed out but your video has really helped encourage me
I spent my 1000$ on a laptop so i could prepare for the SAT 😂
Omg my first SAT score is coming out this day🤦♂️ I’m actually so stressed as a Chinese student, hopefully I can get 1400+ this time and 1480+ in Aug..Those books are really important, tks for ur helpful video~

Thank you... this is really helpful... taking the test in may and I'm sooo nervous.
紫Annie Good luck!!
Step 1- don’t have a life and have your parents to buy everything you need
(My parent have never gave me anything for good grades)
I relate.
Jael Fragoso thank god someone said it. No hate because she’s going places and I’m sure she’ll be successful, but it’s not worth it for me to study for hours and hours. I had a 1230 without studying at all and all I really want is a 1290 for the scholarships
or you can get a job
This was actually very useful, thank you so much!
i’m glad you enjoyed :))
Girl, I love this video so much and your personality haha you have a new subscriber! btw what are you thinking about majoring in/career path-I honestly don’t know what I want to do so I’m always looking to see what others are doing to get some ideas :)
I’m really into engineering! It’s my major at my technical high school right now. Specifically, I’m thinking about artificial intelligence :)

I literally got an 1100 w/o studying and got into UC Davis with okay grades lol ur stats don’t always matter. But I’m not downing people who want to spend that time to study and want a good score and get into a better school great job! Really I wish I had the time to but I’m just saying it’s possible to still get into a top university w/o it :) (Also it’s amazing you’re helping people who really do want to study hard for the SAT)
Kelly can you make another video on how you planned out your schedule and spread the chapters of the books across your study schedule??? Pls thank you 🙏

Thanks for the advice, I'm on my freshman summer going on to sophomore, I'm going study a lot this summer. I hope in 2 years I can achieve this goal of 1500+ I'm not the smartest person but I usually do exceptionally well when I study

Victoria Manzo take lots of practice exams and review (2 a day). Study vocab... prefixes, suffixes, and root word charts.
HelloYou! Thank you so much
Victoria Manzo Best of luck! 👍
HelloYou! Don’t study vocab... it’s not on the sat
@@mikeober6880 It technically is if you consider the higher level vocabulary that always finds its way in the reading selections.
I’m crying you started studding 8 weeks before! I’m from the uk and if I did that for the GCSEs I’d be dead like starting 8 MONTHS before is standard, if not slightly late. (A lot will begin in September/August for May/June )
Reason number 1105 I hate the GCSEs 😭
SATs are real examples of pay to win
with enough determination, you should be able to find any workbook online as a pdf or other. ;)
i would still buy atleast one though so you have some sort of physical practice ( i recommend the official collegeboard one :) )
khan academy and crackact.com are free bruh
Aye dont make excuses for yourself it's not gonna get you anywhere
