Whenever there is just 1 anchor it is easy for opp. teams to rush plant or maybe escort since a flash or a smoke can blind that one player. Need to have more reliable players on ranked that can do the job of protecting point while roamers can roam freely knowing their base will be protected
Here’s how to aim head level 1:shoot 1 bullet into door when standing 2:shoot 1 bullet into door frame when crouching 3:hit some headshots and adjust your aim based on the bullet holes👍
@Greg Roberge it's a good habit, people just give it flak because most people decide to reload without making sure they're okay to do so. If you take the time to ensure you're safe for it, there's no reason to NOT reload. In COD you often increase your total potential per magazine. In siege you give yourself extra opportunities to out someone down in one shot, both are powerful things, it just sucks that people don't think before they press it and reload when someone is right infront of them, stomping in with footsteps audible from the other half of the map. That's when it's dumb
I'd like to add to this, because I didnt know this at the time, but reloading in Siege is almost penalty free, considering that reloading can be immediately canceled just by aiming. Other games require you perform a different action to cancel the animation and you risk dying to the reload because you lose time cancelling it, but Siege lets you bypass that tricky animatiom cancel technique and go straight into shooting so premature reloads arent nearly as bad as in other games even when done without properly checking your environment and angled grips make it even more forgivable. Still not as perfect as already holding the head high angle, but you can mitigate that pretty easily by holding the angle then reloading, so if you need to ADS to cancel you're already aiming where you need to be.
My biggest problem whether im playing anchor (which i do a lot as i tend to main Mute and Rook), or roaming, or even attacking, is not insta-reloading. Years of Halo and CoD ingrained that in me and its a hard habit to break.
I basically always designate myself as an anchor since everyone wants to roam. Dumbasses will give me shit sometimes when we lose because I usually have way less kills then them, even though I did a lot of subtle things to make sure we did as well as we did in the first place. I swear people need to get through their heads that this isn't a Team death match call of duty type game, number of kills does not equal how well you did in this game at all.
It depends though , as an anchor you have more expectation of you whilst clutching only because you've had 2m to collect yourself hold the angles you're supposed to given you got callouts to backup your efforts. Don't get me wrong if it's a 1v5 then yeah no hope most of the time. But 1v3 or 1v2 should be possible. Last but not least as an anchor you should play a little lower sens than usual only because you're holding usually 1 angle so you can landmore accurate shots. I used to main doc and got alot of clutches so many times because overheal , lowsens like 7 7 and 750 dpi , and holding tight angles.

We have 2 mid roamers who are staying close to the obj like lesion, ela, or smoke or mute. Then 2 anchors most likely being Mira doc, rook, smoke or mute. It more depends on the map. Christopher Lane I disagree with the placement of Rook, he should be n°4 tbh. Giving your teammates an extra chance to survive is crucial. With Doc you need to be relatively near your teammates.
I think the main reason there are no anchoring videos is because when you’re a new player you tend to be fearful of roaming and venturing too far from the OBJ so you anchor with every operator. Everyone gets to practice anchoring already so content creators don’t see it necessary to make a video on it. That being said, I’m glad you did.
As a kapkan main I anchor most rounds and sometimes rotate but rarely I will place all my trip mines on one side of the map so I don't have to worry about one side of the obj and just keep my angle on the second door, this usually works fine and if I hear my team mates in drawn out gun fights that's when I place my last trip mine at the door I had my angle on and rotate around to flank them

Not sure if i'm the only one like ths but i notice i always play better consistently as an Anchor. There was a time where i was roaming a lot and i got good at it but i eventually stopped and my roaming skills degraded.

Excellent! I'm glad to see from the comments that I'm not the only one who enjoys playing anchor. Frost's trap behind a shield blocking a doorway often pays dividends.
This playstyle is where i feel compfortable the most, i mean we all like roaming and Killing people, but this, this takes patience and a pretty good map knowledge (which im still working on) but the videos about anchoring are pretty rare and seeing one from you Get_Flanked is really awesome, i've seen pretty much all of your videos and your channel is one of my go-to channels for siege videos. As someone who kinda got picked up by some guys who knew the game a lot better than I did at that point and were generally just more aggressive I filled the anchor spot a lot. And at first it sucked because I got left in a lot of 1v however many people and wasn’t good enough to get the kills. But now I can’t tell you how many times I’ve clutched the game out by knowing how to anchor and a lot of the tips you use are ones I’ve learned for myself so I’m happy to see you showing others who may not know them.

I started the game as an anchor but now the knowledge and the need to leave the objective made me one of the best roomers because I knew where the enemies push and where to position my self (as a romer) to help the anchor and aply pressure on the enemies
Can Mozzie be an effective anchor as well? I feel like he is the lesser of Mute since his pests can only hack 3/10 of the possible drones, where if no one shoots mute’s jammers, he can disable 10/10 drones if his jammers are placed in the right entrances.

Usually play with a Lord + Mira -combination. Death Mirror of death is quite deadly. You wont kill your opponent in any round. Grenades, flanking and drones will make sure of that. But nothing guarantees a long-term death due to heart attack more than a peaceful Mira-Mirror being opened, aimed at by the attackers just to unveil the Lord in all of his might behind it. Aiming at you. You will most likely loose the round. Maybe even the game. But he, who won the round will die for certain due to heart failure.

I like to think I'm very versatile in playing an anchor & a roamer. I usually alternate defending rounds depending on how confident I feel as if you're having a bad game an anchor is a great way to pick up an easy kill & regain confidence. You can't roam if you don't have confidence. As an anchor I like maining trap operators like Frost & Echo as they can cover multiple weak spots with their gadget. Great video mate.
How to play as anchor... Step 1: Pick 3 armor operator Step 2: Choose agoc from sights Step 3: Melee window and spawnpeak Step 4: Get back to the site and make lot of sound by running Step 5: Flame enemy in chat for wall hacks And the lesson was, that you don’t FUCKING RUN as 3 armor defender, it reveals your fucking position!!!!
I know the feeling :P I'm more of an anchor by choice but when we got 5 people crammed in the point I'll move out to roam, and I've gotten teamkilled so many times because of that lol. I guess they just assume I'll blow their cover or something.

I'm still very new to the game and I know I have a lot to learn, but your content is great to watch, insightful, and gets me thinking about a lot of different things as a far as line of sight, soft walls, character counters and other such things that I probably wouldn't be thinking about if I were playing more casually. I completely agree with the shield tactic. I play a lot of Lord Tachanca on defense and I always put a shot led in the door so that they have a harder time shooting my feet without me seeing them and usually killing them and if they rush me they are going to have to jump the shield and make themselves completely vulnerable and giving me the kill. It works almost ever time. Except for when they come from the other side.
I love these vids m8! All of them so far have helped me shape the way I approach problems in ranked for the better. One thing I love to do with deployed shields is put them in a door sideways. It makes them harder to vault over and buys you time as a defender. I donno if I'll trade the nitro cell over the shield as mute because it really does come in handy at a pinch especially against a Fuze/buck on the ceiling or a shield operator pushing defenders around like sheep away from obj. I think other anchors like rook can carry the shield better than mute imo.
I play with my two friends and I'm usually the anchor, because I'm not comfortable enough to roam and I like being near objective. This video helps me a lot. I like being the minority so I can fill a role others don't want :)

I started the game as an anchor but now the knowledge and the need to leave the objective made me one of the best roomers because I knew where the enemies push and where to position my self (as a romer) to help the anchor and aply pressure on the enemies

Can Mozzie be an effective anchor as well? I feel like he is the lesser of Mute since his pests can only hack 3/10 of the possible drones, where if no one shoots mute’s jammers, he can disable 10/10 drones if his jammers are placed in the right entrances.

KanteNL The best thing is to get a normal controller and an FPS dominator. It's just a wired attachment for $40 with paddles.

Usually play with a Lord + Mira -combination.
Death Mirror of death is quite deadly.
You wont kill your opponent in any round. Grenades, flanking and drones will make sure of that.
But nothing guarantees a long-term death due to heart attack more than a peaceful Mira-Mirror being opened, aimed at by the attackers just to unveil the Lord in all of his might behind it. Aiming at you.
You will most likely loose the round. Maybe even the game. But he, who won the round will die for certain due to heart failure.

I like to think I'm very versatile in playing an anchor & a roamer. I usually alternate defending rounds depending on how confident I feel as if you're having a bad game an anchor is a great way to pick up an easy kill & regain confidence. You can't roam if you don't have confidence. As an anchor I like maining trap operators like Frost & Echo as they can cover multiple weak spots with their gadget. Great video mate.
Thats really important to be able to adjust how you play based on what is needed.
How to play as anchor...
Step 1: Pick 3 armor operator
Step 2: Choose agoc from sights
Step 3: Melee window and spawnpeak
Step 4: Get back to the site and make lot of sound by running
Step 5: Flame enemy in chat for wall hacks
And the lesson was, that you don’t FUCKING RUN as 3 armor defender, it reveals your fucking position!!!!

I know the feeling :P I'm more of an anchor by choice but when we got 5 people crammed in the point I'll move out to roam, and I've gotten teamkilled so many times because of that lol. I guess they just assume I'll blow their cover or something.

Just got caught up on all the new videos over the past week or so, and I just wanted to say TERRIFIC JOB and quality content. Thanks for the videos on the new characters, the update, the hiding spot you found and pointed out. Really awesome stuff. I'm still very new to the game and I know I have a lot to learn, but your content is great to watch, insightful, and gets me thinking about a lot of different things as a far as line of sight, soft walls, character counters and other such things that I probably wouldn't be thinking about if I were playing more casually. I completely agree with the shield tactic. I play a lot of Lord Tachanca on defense and I always put a shot led in the door so that they have a harder time shooting my feet without me seeing them and usually killing them and if they rush me they are going to have to jump the shield and make themselves completely vulnerable and giving me the kill. It works almost ever time. Except for when they come from the other side.

I love these vids m8! All of them so far have helped me shape the way I approach problems in ranked for the better. One thing I love to do with deployed shields is put them in a door sideways. It makes them harder to vault over and buys you time as a defender. I donno if I'll trade the nitro cell over the shield as mute because it really does come in handy at a pinch especially against a Fuze/buck on the ceiling or a shield operator pushing defenders around like sheep away from obj. I think other anchors like rook can carry the shield better than mute imo.
I play with my two friends and I'm usually the anchor, because I'm not comfortable enough to roam and I like being near objective. This video helps me a lot. I like being the minority so I can fill a role others don't want :)
