Kia and Hyundai's digital dash and infotainment system is way ahead of the Kluger, as are the driver and front-seat passenger seat adjustments. Had the Sorento Hybrid been around 9 months ago I might have gone for Kia.

Not available in Australia in the next 18 months, as admitted by KIA dealer. They offered me a Diesel immediately available for a little extra $20k !!!

Hmm. I believe it's the same with the Kia/Hyundai fully electrics also. Not a good look. Mind you, Toyota are doing the same with their all-electric bZ4X.

Kia has a better design for the driver then the Toyota

I don’t understand how Tom was getting fuel economy of 8 in the Kluger. I am averaging 6.2 over three months in mine. 🤷‍♂️

Kia Sorento looks light years ahead of Kluger in terms of design and technology. I have owned Sportage for 6 years and never had any problem. Shame about the wait on the Hybrid Sorento.

Those front seats are nicer than the boring things they put into the Sportage GT Line.

Roughly $7k more than the diesel and you save 1 litre per 100 kms. You also pay more for servicing and need to service it more often. I can’t understand why you would buy this over the diesel?

Agreed, personally I like the diesel Sport+.

The diesel with dual clutch transmission seems to have all those problems with some owners having gone through their 3rd transmission replacement !

The phone charger needs to be bigger (spring loaded) so that it can accommodate all phone including their cases. That's like having a one size cup holder rather than ones with adjustments.
It just seem so annoying when your favorite water bottle is just a tiny fraction to large and won't fit. Then you think, how hard would it have been to just make the space a few mm larger? Those cup holder in this car definitely need clamps so they don't bang back and forth under acceleration/deceleration. Another of those small but noticeable attention to detail that separate so many manufactures these days.

Great Vehicles, but the Hybrid /PHEV will likely take yrs to recoup the costs. Short servicing intervals, slightly higher service costs, higher initial purchase price, obviously all need to be factored in. My diesel car from another brand does the same figures around town as the Kia . Hybrids & PHEV's are great for stop start city driving , but regular hwy runs could whack any savings for six. Is it worth spending close to $70k to save maybe $300-$400 a yr over the standard petrol & maybe a couple of hundred $$$ if you're lucky over the diesel??

I was sceptical of the Kluger Hybrid's highway economy, but have been surprised. I'm getting 6L/100km for both highway and suburban driving. I use Economy mode mostly, with aircon always on. On highways I have adaptive cruise control and lane cantering on most of the time. I knew Hybrid wouldn't pay for itself, but with petrol prices pushing $2/litre I feel a bit smug whenever I fill up. 😄

I testdrove the plugin hybrid version in Europe a year ago. Even in my flat country Belgium the little petrol powerplant had to work hard once the electric is out.
Didn’t even look at the fuel consumption, just decided to order again a diesel (had a MY2018 Sorento before).
35k km in, my fuel economy is 7,2 l/100km. This is 1,3 better than my previous diesel Sorento.

Somehow Kia manages to get great reviews from these Channels. But trust me, it's a very average car. Not too bad, but not too good as these channels claim. Within 2 weeks, my Kia Cerato is making lot of vibration kinda noise, worse even the mild engine fan noise is audible to driver.. and yeah, the FM starts playing suddenly when Apple Carplay is on.. most annoying - the sensors aren't no where near accurate, and alerts when it isn't supposed to... It's like, those Oppo, Vivo, kinda smart phones that offer everything yet some of the features aren't as reliable as one would expect.
