Turns out that the land rover manual has an error?! It specifies 78Nm torque for the lower pin bolts but apperently should be 28Nm! Hopefully the 78 is correct for the upper pin bolts ;-)
Is there any point in using the steering stop bolt pad part TAU100170 ? My hub are a 2008 tdci type and they are shown on the parts diagram. Should i include them, or are they just unnecessary, when i rebuild the swivel hubs to fit on my earlier 300tdi vehicle.
First time I have seen them! So they must be on 'newer' Defenders, post 2002 All they seem to do is offer a larger surface area for the bolt head to hit I can see why the fit them but they offer no difference to earlier models
