I came back for my mother with my 8 and 9 yr old girls from Canada. Lived in karachi for 7 yrs . My passed away during covid . Within a year, i came back to canada. It's very hard to live in Pakistan. But i am happy i took care of my mother when she needed me the most .
My advice to this caller is that send ur husband to take care of his mother, you and ur daughters stay in Australia.

good decent advice , but if the husband is in pakistan (and the wife doesn't work) then the living monthly expenses of australia will get totally out of control versus moving the family to pakistan and keeping the expenses in control.

Yes, she has to stay Australia with girls and send husband to take care of his mother. Don't give them stress for new environment. Your husband not suppose to come Australia frequently. You can work there and of course you are safe there.from Canada.

I was born in Kuwait. My father was an electrical engineer and we had a great life. Long story short, we moved back to Pakistan 14 years ago. Back then I was an 11 year old kid who was confident and full of life and the school environment here in Pakistan was terrible for me. I would get bullied heavily and that affected me as a person forever. Now, I don't feel like talking to people or socialising. I've recovered a lot from those experiences but I still believe that those things still haunt me to this day. Not to mention my family has also been through a lot ever since they came back to Pakistan and we as a family regret our decision big time. Now I'm doing my masters in the US and have no intention of ever going back to Pakistan.

Quality Of Life depends on the state of mind. Not on external factors. Pakistan is a third world country, Problems start to occur when people start comparing it to the first world. So When you move to Pakistan, you have to know you’re moving to a village.
You have to get your priorities straight in Life,Ask yourself What is it that you care about the most in life?
If it’s Money, glitz and glamour of the west , the Material Aspects of the Modern
Life that most insecure people around the world need in order to cover up their lack of self esteem then moving to Pakistan might be a bad idea And you will suffer psychologically.
But If you have done the inner work , lived abroad , studied abroad, seen the western Life,
gotten past your insecurities of being Pakistani,
And if your priority is family, people and friends who are always there for you , you enjoy the little things in life like helping people ; contributing to society in your own capacity To help make a better world,
Pakistan is best place in the world.
    Much love,

@@pakistanzindabad6179 No it is not factual that much that''s why I said it .Let me tell you how -he said in Jouhar there is no park or library;I even know of 2-3 parks and libraries there ( i also commented google map location for it but he deleted that comment )so it exist but he exaggerated this -that was going in extreme and that is the problem of our people that they instead of highlighting problem they go in extreme (this is in everything of them they will go ) and completely discard their homeland and as not of any worth to live .Also he said there is load shedding such issue that exist but he doesn't know loadshedding happen in areas where majority living in that area are on "khunda system "so can avoid paying their bills in other areas where there is no khunda system load shedding doesn't happen in many areas of Karachi it doesn't happen now that's separate topic there should be adequate action against those who do instead of punishing that entire locality (it is a seperate topic )but we should tell that too and also that problem can be tackled easily by installing solar (which majority do )/UPS such and secondly bills are high that is temporary as such
Even I wouldn't have said he is exaggerating such if he didn't say there is no park /library in Jouhar whereas reality it exist -at least one shouldn't lie .I found him there pathetic that he gone to this extreme and by that misguided the person to a great extent
We should highlight problems instead of doing exaggeration such and discard something completely I believe -this going in extreme (be it of any side -positive or negative )isn't correct -you then can lead to misguiding others who don't know much present them wrong picture
Just one problem that person will face that is will be problematic is that there can be less probability that he will get visa again of that overseas country nothing else as such .
There are many people also who do great even after visiting back to pakistan from oversea -you will find even in this comment section who are telling that they don't regret as such - don't face a lot of problem ,are successful just enough with it so discouraging overseas that once you come in your homeland you will live in hell is not a correct analogy made at all many also have to look at their families maybe their parents are suffering so they can't let them suffer and let them die eventually by it -how much it will be inhumane that son let its parent suffer when they needed him the most for their personnel benefit such -that parent taken care of the child since childhood did its best give him good life that he is successful today but when it was time that parent due to old age or any other problem needed its son assistance the son didn't care and let the parent to suffer .... such people in their extreme exaggeration , in their extreme negativity misguide and inject a lot of fear in people who don't know much and cause chaos more .There are problems and I believe they should be highlighted but going to such that you discard something completely you make other who don't know much in great fear is not right at all
Rest I don't live abroad - I live in Karachi, Pakistan

Every kid in the family has his own role. Your siblings are taking care of your mother but there bread and butter is in Pakistan so it would be difficult for them to support medical expenses of your mother. Here comes your part. You live abroad and may be able to bridge that gap. So, there is no need for any guilt. Just do your part. To support your parents in Pakistan, you always have to choose one either, support them financially or support them morally and physically. You can't do both in Pakistan. That's what will happen if you come back. Morally and physically your sibling are already here to support your mother. There is no need for you to do the same but if stay abraod you can help financially which might be needed. If you come back you will regret within 6 months.

I got 10 years USA multiple visit visa and 10 years multiple Canada visit visa and in October 2022 I visit USA I got my south African nationality in 2011 and born in (kasur) punjab Pakistan. Long story short all is depend what u want to do in ur life. Are u ready to face the challenges or don't want to face any trouble in ur life at any cost even on the cost of ur mother. Choice is urs and consequences obviously u will face Regret or no regret. As a human and as a Pakistani we have responsibilities toward humanity Muslims and Pakistan and as a Pakistani I think we failed to fulfill our duties. We always choose easy way in life that's why Pakistan in this position. We don't want to give sacrifice. If we really want our childrens and grand childrens future safe then some one must talk responsibilities. Pakistan almost on the edge of destruction. Materialistic people will never tell you about the lack of dignity we're exposed to abroad. Moved back to Pakistan twelve years ago and never looked back. Retirement with pension from abroad will give a better standard of living. So I am in two minds whether to move back. I want to meet my old friends at a coffee shop instead of taking walks on your own in the park without talking to people. I agree with you that living in Pakistan for younger person maybe difficult.

I am a German national living in Germany, currently working at the energy company EWR. I faced a situation similar to yours back in 2020. Since my mother was alone in Pakistan, I decided to leave everything behind and move there in 2020.
After my father’s passing in 2012, I inherited 48 acres of agricultural land, along with three houses and other property. My total rental income was around 4.5 million rupees per year. I thought I would live peacefully in Pakistan and take care of my mother.
However, I didn’t find peace there. After 18 months, the conditions became so difficult that I had to return to Germany. Now that I’m back, I have no desire to live in Pakistan again.

Pakistan k serious masail hain, agar sb zaheen, mehanti, courage walay log bahir chaly jaien gy to phir ye mulk aisa he rahay ga.
Kharab cheez ko he to thek krna hamara zindagi ka maqsad hai. We are here to uplift others.
Khaali bahir jaa k remittances bhj deny sy to mulk ni thek ho jaata. Bahir jaa k aap k bachay secular, libral, atheist bnty jaa rhay hain. Jb deen he ni raha to phir maal o dolaat ka kya krna.

bahir ja k pur sakoon zindagi guzarni hai or end pe oont(camel) ki tarah paray paray mar jaana hai aisa thandi zindagi ka to koi faida ni.

I'm in UK from last 2 years and life here is like machine, just work everyday to pay rents &groceries and still have to face racism as we are 2nd class citizen here. Yeah Pakistan have probelsms but uf someone have money and want to move back, it's best decision of life, you enjoy every moment of your life in Pakistan, you enjoy every festival. So, you also been here to live for few days, so you enjoy time here but if you live in western countries permanently, it's very difficult as well.

Great for holidays but would'nt want to live there especially in the current climate. My grandfather came from Pakistan and often told stories about how wonderful it was ( maybe it was at that time ) but it seems like a scary place now - no freedom of speech - no rule of law - no justice at all and so much corruption - there was a ray of light in Imran Khan , myself and others were considering buying second homes there , and even having businesses there at that time. But that ray of light is also being diminished....such a shame as there is actually so much potential in Pakistan .

For those 5-7 days, quit work, go to relatives homes, visit graves of elder who passed away, go to ground and enjoy some cricket. ...... Plz waste 4-5 lacks on solar panels to avoid electricity issues... So issues are manageable.

First moved to saudi and now in london and only coming back to see my relatives who have always been so kind to me and helped me through this rough transition. I think you made some very convincing points against moving back to Pakistan for someone living in a structured, disciplined society. For me its a very tempting after all Pakistan is the real homeland.Having said that I would never make the move for all the reason you cited. Plus, coming from a somewhat disciplined society where ethics matter Pakistan presents daunting challenges. But, then to each his/her own I can't really tell someone what they should or shouldn't do.
